I thought this ice bucket thing was stupid at first -- thinking that people were doing the challenge but not contributing. Then I read that they have raised more the 2 million dollars over their collections last year at the same time -- so it is working and people are having fun with it.
Would like to see the Bills/Phins/Jets do this too.
(Actually, can the Dolphins only make their rookies do this, and can the fill their buckets with hot coals instead?)The love he receives is the love that is saved0 -

But you're excused due to the sweet Statler and Waldorf picture.0 -
The flags last night were a debacle. I understand that it is the preseason and that games may be called differently once the real thing starts. I just don't want to see key plays negated all season because a defensive back lightly touched a receiver beyond five yards. That waters down the product.___________________________________________

Yeah, the flags have been ridiculous so far this preseason. It's almost impossible for there to be zero contact at all between a DB and WR. There was a play in the Bears game Thursday night where the WR initiated the contact with the DB, but the DB got flagged. I really hope this doesn't happen in the regular season...we're going to be looking at 3.5-4 hour games being a normal thing.JimmyV said:The flags last night were a debacle. Sanchito again looked good. One bad play. An entertaining game between the Birds and Pats....as JimmyV posted, the flags were ridiculous and w/o the pace would have been great. The love he receives is the love that is saved0

yeah there is no way they can call things that tight once september rolls around. i think it's going to be like college basketball last year with all those whistles early in the year then it died down...Indifference71 said:

more so than than the contact between the db and the wr is the hands to the face in the trenches. that is how football is played. most of it is incidental contact too. last night's game with the eagles was pretty much unwatchable...though i heard belichek and kelly told the refs to call a tight game to have their players be more prepared
it's already been said, can't be said enough--charging us full price for these games is highway robbery.www.myspace.com0 -
Jadeveon Clowney made 2 sick plays back to back vs Falcons
Stuffed the RB a few yards in the backfield then next play sacks Matt Ryan
Him n Watt are gonna blow up offenses for yrs to come0 -
Does anyone else pick what games they plan on watching for the whole season, ahead of time? I've done it 2 years in a row now. Some games may change, but it's probably pretty accurate. Mostly watching Cowboys and Niners games, followed by Denver, Seattle and New England. I'm so ready for the season to start!Another habit says it's in love with you

Oh yeah, the hands to the face thing on the line of scrimmage has been awful too. And like you said, a majority of the time it is just incidental contact. It's bad enough to be watching preseason football, but now the games are lasting 3.5-4 hours. Ridiculous. The Juggler said:

The NFL is printing money and has been for decades. It can pay the musical acts at its signature event.___________________________________________
