All I can say is that I'll be one upset fella if they don't return this tour. It really isn't far off the beaten path, and I think that they were well received in Halifax. Cross any fingers/toes, and those of your family/friends/pets. They need to make it back. Halifax, to the max!

Today I e-mailed the Metro Centre in regards to a possible Pearl Jam show, and requested that if there was no chance of a show and nothing in the works, to simply tell me so. However, this was the e-mail I received in return:

"As and when concerts and other events are confirmed and ticket information is known, it is immediately posted by Box Office staff to our new on-line ticketing system website at: www.ticketatlantic.com."

So, what dose this mean? Does it mean there's no chance of another show? Or does it mean that we should wait and see? Your thoughts?

It sounds like a pretty standard response. I don't think it means much either way. I mentioned this earlier, but I'm a bit surprised that virtually no city has had any leaks wrt when/if PJ will be palying in their town. I would think that if there were leaks aboiut a bands tour schedule, it would come from people who work for certain venues and their box offices etc.., but so far nothing. Looks like we'll find out from PJ first, hopefully on the 7th.

I was thinking about how the 1st Halifax show had sold out, but that other places like Ottawa had not, yet it might be Ottawa that gets another show - not exactly fair !! Halifax is 1/3 the size of Ottawa, yet it sold 10,000 seats (and maybe could have done it twice !), while Ottawa only sold 13,000 seats.

they could have sold tons more tickets in halifax...i know of tons of people who would have loved to have gone (and who would have been thrilled to sit up in the rafters). i know of a few people who would have loved to have paid less than $300 for tickets.

  • Still waiting and hoping the energy we conveyed to the band at the Metro Centre in '05 will be remembered and rewarded...

    And if given the chance...

WE WILL ROCK THE HMC DOWN TO ITS FOUNDATION IN '06!

Yeah seriously, there were tons of unsold seats behind the band that could have been used up.

fucking scalpers too. I remember being in line to get in and some goon was on the top of the parking lot (we were lined up coming up the hill) trying to sell a pair of tickets for 350 bucks.

Long time reader, first time poster ;)

Ive always been a big PJ fan, but its only been the past 5 years or so that I started really getting into the entire library of songs and I have now found myself completely addicted. I could never say what my favorite band was (enjoy all sorts of music/bands) but I can now say PJ by far, the depth of quality tunes over the years is amazing.

My friend and I tried very hard to get tickets for the Halifax show, not realizing what a huge following the band would still have here, and how hard it was going to be to get tickets. I was trying the phones while he stood in line in the early morning hours, but we got nothing. Shortly after it sold out, the best prices I could find were $200-$300 each, which were just not possible with my budget. I knew at that time that when the concert came and went, I would regret it big time. Sure enough, I have been kicking myself in the ass every since the first review came out...lol.

I downloaded the bootleg, and to my AMAZEMENT, it is still in my stereo 95% of the time. I have listened to both disks non-stop since September, and don't get tired of it. The band sounds perfect live! Even though I missed the concert, I can imagine the atmosphere there just from listening. I had no idea how good this band sounds on a consistent basis, unlike so many other bands that are inconsistent at best.

The point of this post is to hopefully get another Halifax show on a tour list, and this time I will not miss it. Seeing PJ in concert has now become a major priority for me ;) Cant wait for the new album!

    Halifax, Summer 2008... they return!

Metro Center uses internet sales now so the tickets would likely go even faster if we get another show. People should really consider joining ten club to avoiding getting shut out!
    So I bid farewell to the Eastern town I never more will see;
But work I must so I eat this dust and breathe refinery.
    Oh I miss the green and the woods and streams and I don't like cowboy clothes;
But I like being free and that makes me an idiot I suppose.

That show was by far the most intense show that I've ever been to. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for another kick-ass show at the Metro Centre. I don't know how they could play a show like that and with that kind of crowd reaction and not come back. Consider this my vote to bring them back...and hopefully soon!

Down the street you can hear her scream youre a disgrace
As she slams the door in his drunken face
    And now he stands outside
And all the neighbours start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green

Doesn't look like we're on leg one. Here's hoping we'll be on a following leg!

i am by no means bitching. i am not jumping the gun. i am merely wondering the following thing and ranting like a loon.

why the fuck does Toronto get the only listed Canadian stop in the tour so far?

BFD if it's a huge city. BFD if it is basically considered the epicentre of this huge fucking country. Big Fucking Deal!

i am tired of the East Coast, and i'm talking the TRUE East Coast, getting the shit end of the stick.

it may seem like i'm bitching about the tour, but really, i'm just feeling a little hostility toward the culturally endowed "upper" canada. i would have probably found another way to vent my anger. this forum just makes it easier! it's nothing against the people there...it's just unfair how the country seems to stop in the middle.

okay...bitching aside, i really hope that T.O. isn't the only canadian date on the tour and i will not lose hope until the tour is completely over and they have officially passed us by.

i still believe in miracles. :)

Hey Lanners, if its any consolation I'm guessing they NEVER had any intention of going to Halifax or any other Canadian city besides Tor.. Van. is only rumoured to be getting a gig. Montreal isn't getting one period, which astounds me. For what its worth, I think Tor. got the gig b/c of size and geography, not b/c the shows in Tor. are so great. Actually, the concerts in Tor. have paled in comparison to other Canadian cities - Halifax among them.

I live here, so I'll be going. But with great disappointment. Oh well, I think there's always another chance for Halifax. What amazes me to this day are the number of people who continue to write about their experience at the Halifax concert, and how great it was. I so wish I was there.

I actually thought about making up a huge sign for the Air Canada Centre that read: "fuck Toronto, come back to Halifax ". I'm serious.....
