Spring training games are awesome. Even if the game sucks, there are TONS of smokin hot chicks in the crowd wearing practically nothing! Fantastic!

they're even smokiner over at the giants place ;)
That's certainly possible. I just don't want to deal with GIants fans....hot or not. :D
no way I'm getting into a debate over who are the more obnoxious fans....but I think we both know the answer ;)

While Theo is busy trying to recreate the Red Sox, the rest of us would just rather have Ricketts open up the bank account and buy our way into the WS. Screw this "do it from the gound up" crap. I want to see my team win a damn World Series and I'm done being patient about it.

About 24 hours until the season finally starts!

    What are everyone's predictions?

I think the team will be better this year but our pitching is going to kill us.
The Cubs finish the year 75-87.
Castro will bounce back a bit this season (but his defense will still be awful) but I am not sure Rizzo getting much better in 2014.
Edwin Jackson will continue to be Edwin Jackson (not a good thing).
Baez will be fun to watch when he gets called up.
Samardzija will be traded at the deadline (or will get injured before we can deal him)

Total forgot about Mike Olt. The Cubs need to get him on the field to continue to develop but I am afraid that he will be splitting too much time with Valbuena. I think the Cubs are going to get too caught up in playing lefthanded/righthanded lineups.

Managers seem to put entirely too much emphasis on the lefty/righty crap these days. I'm anxious to see how Renteria does. We've had arguably the two worst managers in a row. Quade wasn't a good decision maker, but he at least seemed to light a fire under a few of the guys. Sveum was just a fucking terrible, clueless idiot. I'd go so far as to say that to his face if I ever saw him. A god damn cardboard cut out would've done as much in-game managing as he did. By default, Renteria is already a better manager than Sveum, and I am looking forward to seeing how he works games.

Let the 100 loss season begin. Excited for the home opener Friday, even though it's gonna be cold as shit. Agreed on the L/R thing, it's way over blown. GO CUBS!!!!

    Sveum was awful.

I have pretty low expectations for Renteria. I do not expect him to last 3 seasons but if he helps the youngsters develop than I think he will have accomplished what he was put in place to do.

It will be interesting to see how many different lineups he uses this year and to see how long his overly positive attitude lasts.

Many teams make uniform errors. It happens in every sport at least a few times per season. What makes my beloved Cubbies a half-assed team is the lack of fundamentals displayed almost inning-ly by the players. Last night they had 15 hits and lost 4-3. Bonifacio at one point had more hits in the game than the entire Pirates roster. Yet no moves were made to advance runners (with the exception of Boni's 2 stolen bases). No one went to the mound to strangle calm down Veras when he loaded the bases with a 1 run lead and a save opportunity on the line. Anthony Rizzo looks like he spent the entire month of March perfecting his golf swing. He bites every single pitch that goes down in the dirt. Starlin Castro has no idea how to run the basepath. He's always looking back over his shoulder instead of trusting his base coaches. I could run this team from my couch better than these coaches have been doing the last 3 seasons. First day of Dyer as manager, we spend 8 hours learning how to fucking lay a bunt down. And every time you don't succeed in advancing the runner, you take 5 laps around grounds. I don't give a shit if you puke your guts out. You'll learn to fucking bunt. Day 2... patience at the plate.

DYER FOR MANAGER! YA HEAR THAT, THEO!
