Nine Inch Nails posted a video on Instagram and it said coming soon. I also saw comments how NIN and Soundgarden are touring together. I saw a video of Soundgarden on Instagram which showed multiple pictures of amphitheatres and on one picture, it said NIN 2014.

Soundgarden Instagram video:

Nine Inch Nails Instagram video:

Tough decision for me because I saw both bands last year and they both played for over 90 minutes: Nine Inch Nails played for 2 hours while Soundgarden played for 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Dates to be announced, though they will apparently play in Dallas on August 17.

I hope this is true...this would be fantastic.

It would be even more amazing if NIN will play The Downward Spiral in full and Soundgarden play Superunknown in full. It would be too bad if Matt Cameron won't be on this tour, but I'll be there no matter what (assuming they will come to Toronto in my case).

Does anyone recognize any of the cities/venues in those videos? The Molson Ampitheater in Toronto looks like one of them, maybe Alpine Valley as well.

Interesting! Didn't Trent get mad last time he did a co-headlining tour, the one with Jane's Addiction?

DTE was confirmed on the radio this morning in Detroit. I love that place, some of my favorite concerts have been there.

During NIN's Wave Goodbye shows in 2009, they lead off the show I saw at the Hollywood Palladium by playing the Downward Spiral in its entirety for only the second time ever, I believe (also did it in NY that tour). They didn't mention that fact at all so it was really neat to realize a few songs into it that they were playing them in order and see other people's reactions as they realized it.

That being said, I think a full tour playing that same exact album set might grow a little tiresome. I saw two shows on the NIN/JA tour and NIN did a good job of mixing up their set, while JA played the exact same set which was great the first time but there weren't any surprises the second time around. Would love to see Superunknown played in full just once though. Too bad I can't make it to SXSW.

Just to follow up on my earlier comment - It was talked about on the sports talk station this morning, so no official dates. They were just saying NIN/Soundgarden will be touring in the Spring and Summer, and will come to Detroit. So I'm guessing some time in May/June. Also, it was just some website, so nothing official, but I did read today that tickets are supposed to go on sale this Friday. So an announcement should come soon

I saw some, but not all, leaked dates and if these are true, it was exactly as I predicted: they would start in late July. Can't be May or June because Nine Inch Nails will be touring Europe at that time. I'm sure they want to take several weeks off before starting their North American Tour with Soundgarden. I also read a rumour that experimental/industrial hip hop group Death Grips might open the show.

That's an interesting point about Death Grips. I had seen a music blogger I highly respect mention in passing that Death Grips' drummer could be a possible fill-in for Matt. Also, in one of the long form Lightning Bolt interviews (with Judd Apatow, I believe), Matt mentions liking Death Grips when talking about new music. I saw them last year at Sasquatch but it was just their MC and somebody on a table as they played without a drummer.
