    I was mistaken, it looks like you get 24 hours to edit a post. After that, the "options gear thingy" disappears.

    haha no worries. I'm sure that you didn't recognize me since before I din't have an avatar and now I do (one of the perks of the new board.. things like avatars, PM's, and signatures work now!)
