Well there's your problem. some people waited in line for 8 or 9 hours.

guess you just aren't tough enough.

I think the problem was they said they were going to let ten club with gifts in first. Had they done that people who waited i line for 4 hours would have gotten something. Theres no doubt that someone who waits longer with their gift and ten club membership should get in first but dont change the rules on the day.

the bennys from today are numbered: POP13/2000

All are number 13 or did they write "pop" and then the number it is out of the 50 available?

  • I know this record is broken, but if fools would keep their money in their pockets, there'd be no out of control secondary market.

That said, a Benny would have been hard to pass up. The whole waiting in line early nonsense is overrated.

    Agreed.

I showed up early because I knew it would be stupid.

On a good note, the amount of gifts that 10c members brought was HUGE. At least something good came from it.
  • Yeah its nice to know we helped people out on the day :-)

    COLD FEET

I stopped by and bullshat with my friend that was in front of the Subway. Just stopped to see how he was doing, and saw the line that went clear back beyond his foothold. Decent folks too, as I stood there and any of you might have thought that I was there to claim a late spot, and would have had a right to say something. Not my style. You wait in line, you get the goods.

I'm happy for those of you that got the goods. I dreampt I could wake up and go grab me a Benny, but after hearing all the folks that planned to do the same I resigned myself to the art of sleeping in. I'd love to own it one day, but until then (or the re-issue) I'll be okay.

Sounds like it was run poorly, but I dont think that was 10C's intention... Blame the weatherman.

I'd like to 2nd this as it seems a lot of people are bitching about the whole experience. I was near the front part of the line up and Tim was going out of his way to be helpful and kind to everyone. Hell, he even brought out donuts for everyone!
Once inside, the 10c people were super friendly and helpful. I'm the first one to bitch about 10c screw ups, so I think they should get some praise when they do things right. And they did a great job on Saturday.

Here Here! The staff handled everything really well and Tim was doing a great job all afternoon!! He fealt the same way we all did after that 30 hour session of travel, freezing cold, late night shenanigans but he rocked out a great afternoon and kept throwing vinyl into that raffle like it was going in the trash otherwise. Great job by all!!

I disagree a bit. Yes the 10c staff were friendly, nice and bought doughnuts. I think the event could of been better planned. IE there were somethings they could of done that might of prevented people freezing their asses off for nothing.

People who showed up 2 hours early looked to be about 50th in line, turn out to be 100, and there wasn't much merch left after the 3 hour+ wait to see what was there. I imagine the experience was awesome for the first 20 to 50 people, then diminishing returns after that.

Perhaps they should of posted what they had, and how many copies on their website. It could of helped manage expectations and keep people from needlessly lining up around the block and waiting in the cold? Especially since they held it while the the diehard populace was in town... they had to know the lineup was going to outdo the merch they had?

If I'd know they had 2 copies of some studio albums, 50ish of benaroya, a handful of rare 7"'s, and a bunch of boxes of vault #3/pj20, I would of done a count, and over 50 I would of left :(

I guess I felt bummed after waiting so long to see the merch available pretty scarce when I got my turn :(
