Seattle Showbox Pop Up Shop: What'd you Get?!?

That was my boy Ray in front of you that snagged that Riot Act!bosshogg18 wrote:Zod wrote:
I disagree a bit. Yes the 10c staff were friendly, nice and bought doughnuts. I think the event could of been better planned. IE there were somethings they could of done that might of prevented people freezing their asses off for nothing.
People who showed up 2 hours early looked to be about 50th in line, turn out to be 100, and there wasn't much merch left after the 3 hour+ wait to see what was there. I imagine the experience was awesome for the first 20 to 50 people, then diminishing returns after that.
Perhaps they should of posted what they had, and how many copies on their website. It could of helped manage expectations and keep people from needlessly lining up around the block and waiting in the cold? Especially since they held it while the the diehard populace was in town... they had to know the lineup was going to outdo the merch they had?
If I'd know they had 2 copies of some studio albums, 50ish of benaroya, a handful of rare 7"'s, and a bunch of boxes of vault #3/pj20, I would of done a count, and over 50 I would of left
I guess I felt bummed after waiting so long to see the merch available pretty scarce when I got my turn
I am confused by this. Did people think the Pop Up Shop was going to have 100 Bennys and 500 of each studio record? They actually had more stuff than I thought. I believe there was 50 Bennys available. That is a ton. I was expecting 5-10. That is why I got in line at 1am and was 4th in line. Believe it or not I got the last Rearviewmirror and the gentleman before me snagged the last Riot Act.
Was sleeping on the street in 15 degree weather fun? Not really, but it went better than I thought and I met a lot of cool new people. Some I had spoken to on here, but never met in person, so that part was a lot of fun. So when people line up one or two hours before the sale opens and then complain that there is nothing left boggles my mind. Most of the items at the pop up sale were extremely limited, even more than the Benny like Blue Fixer and colored PJ20, which I heard someone being 60th in line get those. That is pretty good. Being 4th in line I was worried I wasn't going to get some items, and the truth is I didn't one thing I really wanted, but I can't get mad at 10C, or the way the Pop Up Shop was organized. I thought it was organized really well.
Next time if you have your heart on something being offered at any future Pop Up Shop, just be prepared to camp out.

People around you wouldn't hold your place for a bio break?!
The line behind us was getting intense & the place was getting crowded with morning traffic. Had a washroom break around 6am or so. Since then the line was getting bigger & bigger around the block. If I left the area, folks would be questioning where I went off too. 2 guy's had the balls to come up to us in front and yelled at us that we were adding people up front. BS cause I was there since 4:30 am and nobody was added in front of me. I was pretty much the one behind the folks covered with towels sitting in chairs underneath the tree.
Least I got a kick out of waiting in line that long. A group early in the morning that parked their car by the Show Box came up to us and asked where is "The List" so they could put their names down and mark their hands.

I wasn't expecting more of the rare stuff just more stuff in general. They posted that it would be open for 6 hours with the first hour being 10c only. I kind of assumed that meant there would be a lot of merch (outside the rare vinyl). Maybe tour or 10c merch from years gone by. If they expected to have enough merch to last out a 6 hour day so did I
They had a little bit (a few tshirts, shorts, backpack, dog chain, towel, etc...) but not as much as I thought.
I can't be completely off though. They expected to last out the day and I think they shut down shortly after 1pm (reopening for the draw at 4). I think that kind of shows they were a bit unprepared. I knew it would be heavily trafficked because it was the day following a concert which meant alot of 10c members were in town. I guess the 10c didn't really see it coming (was it much quieter last year?).
They did have donuts! When I was going through the line they were on the bar before you went up the stairs to the main part of the venue. There were 3 boxes of donuts!0 -
I was 17th and got what I wanted. I am glad to see post from people in front of me because it always makes you wonder about people's motives. Would I do it again???? Hell yea... But I would leave he Benny, colored PJ20. I bought a vault so no need for that in the future. Patience is always rewarded0

So it was 1pm. I totally didn't believe it. I received my receipt via email @ 11:48am heading back to the hotel. I heard about a price drop on the PJ20 backpack, then folks getting upset they couldn't enter.
The drawing started at 4pm right? Or were they drawing before that time?0 -

I probably walked right by you - Initially I thought the front of the line was the back for some reason; I'm a little oblivious in the morning. Pretty much got major attitude and scolded by some guys at the front. Ya and people letting their friends bud in line. I went from like 65th to 85th.
Missed out on Fixer Orange and Blue cause of that.
I lined up at 8:30am - would normally have lined up earlier but I was sick and needed to get a little sleep after the show. By the time I got up to the tables everything I wanted cept the mystery boxes was gone.

I've been after the Orange and Blue Fixers for over 2 years now. Looking like it's not meant to be for me
Tried to get someone ahead of me in line to get me one but everyone was buying those whether they already owned it or not.
That's what this fanclub has turned us into now. Merch hoarders.

Man is Christmas going to be a letdown after that sale.quimby20 wrote:I was 17th and got what I wanted. For being 61st in line it sure is. The first few on line got some of the studio albums.
I'm stoked that I got a Benny, a grail for me. Now I have to save up for a VPI turntable to do this wax some justice.0 -
How much was the original PJ20 deluxe blu ray set? Anyone catch that?
Thanks."Born on third, thinks he got a triple."0 -

You're right-it was $125. It was one of the few items left when I finally got in there. I'm not sure how many were left though."A beacon on dry land"0 -

Seattle based glass company that donates their proceeds to charity, cancer patients. They were on the left as you went up the stairs.
Did they sell out of them too?0 -

BTW. People I met in line form Canada, Seattle, Pittsburgh, etc. thanks for chatting and keeping great attitude about freezing our asses off. 1st round on me if I meet back up with any of you on future tours. Peace and Merry Christmas!! Pat
Hey you were right behind me I think! I was the long red haired guy from Pittsburgh. Good times!0 -
I was the last person to be let in the door before they closed the shop down at 1pm. Everything was picked over and I ended up buying nothing.
Here are a few pics of (1)what it looked like inside, (2) the vinyl that was left (3) the raffle items.
