It sounds fantastic. Really well done despite the length.0

Tim Simmons wrote:This is probably their second best album. I really wish they cut off the empty length after Joan of Arc and left off the tape rewind after Supersymmetry. Other than that, it's pretty stellar. Band is at the top of their game.
There is absolutely no reason for this to be a double album...
I think this is a good effort, but not as good as their first three.severed hand thirteen2006: Gorge 7/23 2008: Hartford 6/27 Beacon 7/1 2009: Spectrum 10/30-31

I think this blows Neon Bible away. Suburbs could be debated, but ultimately, I'd choose this over the burbs.0

I know I'm in the minority but 'Neon Bible' is my favorite AF record...been in since Funeral but NB is just a special record for me. If I had to rank them...
1. Neon Bible
2. Funeral
3. Reflektor
4. Suburbs
Regardless of the order, all four are incredible0 -

Never could get into these guys, but the new one has some really cool stuff.
Really like Normal Person and most of the middle of the album. Starts a little slow(I think Reflektor is way too long, though still pretty cool), picks up for several songs then kinda trails off towards the end. Could be a little long, or maybe it will all grow on me.
Since I'm digging this, I decided to go back and give Neon Bible a listen and it's much better than I remember.0 -

Agree that the song Reflektor is too long. That could easily be 2 minutes shorter. Also agree that it trails off a little towards the end, but it picks back up with 'Afterlife' as the 12th song.
Give 'Funeral' another listen. Such a great album…definitely in my top 5 of all time.0 -
I was kind of meh the first time I heard it. Now I can't stop listening to it. Funeral is still my favorite though.0

This new one is my first exposure to them. Actually like this sound vs the old stuff.www.cluthelee.com0

my wife bought the LP the other day after hearing the stream. i like them & like the album, but The Funeral blows me away every single time I hear it. I feel like this one may be more of a "grower" for me even though I like it.I LOVE MUSIC.

I'm guessing they'll have a huge US tour next year. All they have planned right now is Big Day Out in Australia in January. Those lucky Aussies…PJ and Arcade Fire in the same day would be a dream.0
