I don't know much about Arcade Fire to know if this 70's Disco/dance crap is part of their previous sound, but I don't understand how a band with that many members would okay that music. To each their own I guess, but it sounded like bad 70's dance music.
That special was just ridiculous. That's art for you.
i only watched one song from the special and turned it off. for all that was going on, it was really boring.
it's like they're trying to emulate the talking heads, but doing it poorly.
EDIT: Nevermind. Got the email today that I won tickets to the show! So excited!
Could I please ask a favor? I'm trying to get into Arcade Fire's special album release show on 10/29 in LA. Tix are only available through musicexperiment.com via different social media tasks, the most current of which is six words on twitter explaining what Reflektor means to you. Could anybody help me out by Retweeting my tweet, please? The task/entry period ends Monday 10/21 at 11am PT. Thanks so much to Scott (Dead Man Walking) and everybody else. Thanks!!!
Yeah, I've watched the video from Colbert so many times the past couple days. Can't wait to hear the whole album. I pre-ordered through their website....I wonder if I'll get it a few days early like the PJ album.
SNL performance was too weird for my taste... I can dig the sound but the theatrics aren't my taste.
Same here. I didn't make it through the entire special. I'd rather just hear the songs. Love the new one that aired on Colbert.

Its about 80 mins. So it could have fit on 1 disc.
Yeah, it seems unnecessary that they made it a double album.
They posted it for streaming on their website and it crashed immediately. I guess I'll find it out there....that will hold me over until the pre-order arrives.

I'm looking forward to it too, but I don't know what the hell that was on that special on Saturday night. That was some weird shit...

Really looking forward to the new album after seeing actual live clips from this past weekend (SNL's sound is always weird.)
