I'd love to go to the super secret show in LA but I did get tickets for the Halloween show at the Palladium.

Jealous about the secret show, but happy about the other one. They're so great live.

regarding the presales and pre-orders, looks like my vinyl shipped already, so the preorders might be done.

2 day priority mail. take that 10C!

Hopefully the CD is waiting for me when I get home from work. Was hoping I would get it early since I pre-ordered but that wasn't the case...

Went to the "secret" show in front of the Capitol Records building in Hollywood tonight. It was really good and made me like the new album a lot more. New material sounded great.

Watched most of that on the webcast last night. That was pretty cool.

I agree with this - think Wash Post and grantland reviews are close to what I think:

    http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/989 ... tor-review

Of course pitchfork gave it over a 9 - hipsters.

Was looking forward to seeing them at BDO but now.....

Wow....I read the Washington Post interview today and I thought "there is no possible way someone could actually agree with that". "Boring sex lives"? Really? What a shit review.

Pretty sure that WaPo article is just trolling.

    @Indifference

If you want to bash 'Reflektor', and want to do so by citing a review, at least cite one that is well written. Using that amateur article to back up your opinion just makes you sound like an idiot.

I could give a shit what critics think. I think the new album is fucking great. I don't think they can ever top 'Funeral', but this is pretty damn good.

Grantland article is good - I greatly enjoyed their prior albums - just don't like this one. Still will see them at BDO - you going? - pearl jam and arcade fire - same day.....

Sadly, I agree for the most part. The second disc especially doesn't do it for me. The first one is alright, if I'm high and I've got headphones on. I particularly do like the song "Reflektor".

Edit: The first disc is really growing on me. It's heading into positive territory.

This is probably their second best album. I really wish they cut off the empty length after Joan of Arc and left off the tape rewind after Supersymmetry. Other than that, it's pretty stellar. Band is at the top of their game.
  • Question about the album on CD, is anyone else having problems loading it into Itunes? The last track Supersymmetry freezes up on both my desktop and wife's laptop, it will not load at all. Anyone else having this issue or is my cd messed up?
