    I know one thing the cops would not have been called. I would probably have gone medieval on his ass. There have been some people posting that no physical harm happened to the family, you are correct, but there is the mental harm that probably happened to this young girl. As a father of two small daughters and another one on the way (Please god a boy :D ) I know my action would have been similar to this fathers.

    I am from NJ and I know how to dig a hole.

    hugh ... it's a lost cause ...

    it's the difference between the kind of society we want to live in and those who choose another ... there are a lot of tough guys in this world but no one really gets the consequences of violence ...

    the anger that so easily boils up inside of people makes them simply irrational ... look at the thread ...

    it's all about protecting the family and home as if this guy came at them with an intent to murder the family ... it's the foundation of stupid laws like "stand your ground" ... hey - this guy is a threat ... i have a right to shoot ... and they want to characterize us as being pansies or delusional ... shoot first - ask questions later ...

    violence begets violence ... is it any wonder that they live in a place that is so besought by it?

    we can't even agree as to the actual level of threat this pervert actually imposed ... bunch of people here feel he was a serious threat to the family ... if we can't agree on that ... how is it possible to agree to what a reasonable response is?

    also ... we can't even agree on what we are actually discussing ... my position all along is that the father committed a crime based on the law and that regardless of how one feels about the pervert or the father - the law must be upheld ... and that it isn't something that should be left to the public to decide what laws should or shouldn't be upheld ...

    HFD I read your post in the poetry section and I think I understand your stance on this so with that said....yes I agree with your statement/feelings on this issue and I have given my last comment on this topic...yes I'm thinking about it a little differently now and if I misunderstood your feeling on this I still have another view from the human emotional aspect of it all.

    a "bad guy" to me could be a monster i suppose but generally in my world a "bad guy" is a fairly mild criminal of sorts. a monster is altogether different than a "bad guy"

    the thing is, at least for me, i'm not angry & my blood never easily boils. i am in fact probably one of the calmest person's any of you could ever meet. im just a simple dude who knows when it is time to defend himself or my people i care about, this could be a complete stranger. i hope someone protects me sometime when shit hits my fan.

    i'm certain most fathers lives in this realm i mentioned. also, the very last thing i want is violence. but i am very capable of doing well in a violent situation. i practice buddhism, meditate, pray & chant a bit & i very much so live peacefully with mother earth & nature.

    I would say 99.9% of people who perform such lewd acts are completely harmless. they have odd urges, but that's as far as it goes. would it freak me out to see it? of course, but I highly highly doubt it would enrage me to the point of putting the man in the hospital.
    You'd mentioned living in a civilized world...but this "man", whose urges I would consider WAY beyond the spectrum of odd, is not.

    Hope he is punished fully with no opportunity to do this - or worse - again.

    not everyone desires a phone-camera. not everyone even has a camera. (i have neither) not everyone needs medical attention because they're bleeding some. a small head wound bleeds like frig & may only require 1 or 2 stitches; that is not a serious beating

    i'm sorry but your words simply do not reconcile imo ... your first response to people who you feel has done an injustice is violence ... and in many cases - what you put forth is brutal violence ... these are not the words of a man of peace ...
