Was reading through this thread today. Amazing what a journey some of these can be. What I learned:

    1. I really enjoyed the concerned, constructive replies to the op's post. There were some awesome suggestions and a real attempt at helping out a fellow fan.

    2. All the suggestions as to how the 10c could change their ticket policies. I think we know there is no way to keep everyone happy. Just aren't enough tickets, the band remains that popular.

    3. My belief is the 10c has a lot of opposing goals they need to deal with...never a fun thing in a business. How do you reward loyal fans, yet throw some "bones" to "newbies"? The fact that fans travel to shows all over is great for a lot of people ( hotels, restaurants, tourist companies like bus tours etc.), but it makes it tougher for people like the op to get tickets to the one hometown show he/she can afford. What to do? All things considered, I think they do a great job.

    4. I have been fortunate to get hooked up with posters, bootlegs, etc. as a result of being a member of this community. It's a great bunch of people out there. If anyone can help get a ticket in the hand of the op, please do it.

    Sorry for the long post....thanks.

Last year they played in Sweden for the first time in 12 years, did I get any 10C tickets? No, the system crashed and I had to get a ticket from public sale. I become a member 1993 and did I quit just because I didn't get 10C ticket, no way, I still love their music and what the band stands for. There's always a way into the arena, probably a fellow 10C fan can get you a GA.

If I was giving away my spare GA ticket to a member (and I just might for Vancouver), the first thing I'd do before deciding who to give it to is have a look at each candidate's posts around the time of the lottery and make sure they didn't start any threads like this.

  • Too lazy to read 6 pages, so maybe this has been said, but if I had your number, I would have put reserved as my top choice. Great seats without having to worry about the pit and the presumably lower odds.

At the very least, put it as your second, and you would have had great seats if you lost ga.

I have no sympathy because you put yourself in the plight. Good luck in life.
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.
  • Let's turn a frown upside down & as a community help each other? I have 2 spare tickets to Oakland. Does anyone have 2 tickets to Dallas for the OP?

I like how old 10c members quitting think it will be to their benefit to come to us with their problems. Do they not realize them dropping out means better tickets for us?

If you put reserved as second choice you would have won tix to show. Your own fault for only choosing ga.

Wrong. I put in both for one show and lost. There was no way for me to go to any other show either and I've been in the fan club almost as long and got shut out. I was disappointed for a few days. It was weird because I was truly depressed because there was this feeling riding just below the surface and I couldn't shake it for at least a few days. But I sucked it up and went to the dreaded ticketmaster and now I'm excited just like all the other times I got mutha fuckin PEARL JAM tickets!
    I found my place......and it's alright

Wrong. The new system means seniority is meaningless if you loss the lottery.

It's worth remembering that the crazy anger that followed the F5 debacle was far uglier than any of the mildly annoyed posts during this round of ticketing.

    Not even close.

The way it used to be (if I remember right) everyone in the 10 club got tix. The seats were then assigned based on seniority. Except the first row which was random among 10 club. Now, I got no tickets. I've been in since 96 and I got nothing from 10club. I would have rather got my tickets from the fan club instead of ticketbastard.

That's very old. Been a long time since everyone who wanted tix got tix.
