After 19 years, so long Ten Club.

Thanks for all the messages guys, good & bad. Again, I gambled on GA instead of reserved. Might have had a better shot at Res. but wanted to be close to the band if possible. Funds didn't allow me more than one option in case I did win more than once. I am just frustrated beyond belief and very disappointed, it's true. It's not mailing in a money order with a order form like the old days. I loathe Ticketmaster to death. What I see in the forums though is that this band has some of the coolest fans in the world!

FYI, I will still try through the regular on-sale. What the hell, right?

Decent logic, but not to be an ass, then it also means they no longer maintain that belief :-)Parksy wrote:haffajappa wrote:

The band has. So long as 10C represents the band. I've never met the band, and therefore cannot conclude that the band feels this way. But for twenty years, your seniority in the 10C was the basis for how close you were to the stage. Therefore, 10C (The Band) believed in rewarding seniority.
I'm just curious though how much the band actually thinks or cares about fan club seniority, they only do it in the US, and there have been times where Eddie notes seeing the same people in the front all the time.

Yes and like someone else said, there are usually spares. Try the pre-party... worst case scenario you get to drink with a bunch of good people. Best case you're in the doors at the venue.Parksy wrote:OP.. if you do get tickets through regular sale.. please come back and let us know. I hope you do!!live pearl jam is best pearl jam0 -

Seriously stop your whining and do what I did when I missed out on tickets to wrigley because nothing else worked for me. I bit the bullet and spent a bunch of money (500 each!) on tickets for an awesome time. Your amount of time in this club does not measure how much you love this band and does not make you entitled to good tickets. You and a bunch of others are acting like you are owed this, knock that shit off or just leave, either way nobody will miss your complaining.

Well said. So many on here jump all over someone for venting their well deserved frustrations. I got completely fucked over on tickets (8) and others get 6 shows. Explain to me how that is fair? The people complaining about whining are just as bad.1998: Pitt

Your not getting it. You could have put GA as priority #1 and reserve seating as priority #2 for the Dallas show. You could only have won one of those options. You cut your own throat by not picking reserve as your #2. You probably would have won reserve. It's not GA, but you would be in the building.0 -
So what is wrong with new kids, I have been a fan since Ten and I finally just signed up for 10 club in February, I have enjoyed every bit.0

TunnelThroughDenial wrote:Not here to rip you and so sorry you didn't win but why not also put Dallas reserved as priority two? That would have increased your odds and you can only win one pair per sbow.
Exactly. Probably would have won those. And I guess it's the Ten Club's fault that he won't leave the DFW area.
Hey OP, smell ya later bro.0 -
A lot have have changed since 2003. You could have been as unlucky with the F5-system.MD4331 wrote:And what have they done with the ticket system? Well everyone knows. I do not have the funds to pick multiple shows in case by chance I would win more than one. I go with my one and only pick of Dallas GA and I wait all fucking day to see if I won. I wake up today and about 1 AM I was sent the e-mail saying I lost. No tickets. 10 years I waited for a show only to be shut out.
And putting all your eggs in one GA-basket knowing that it is a LOTTERY?
You could have put in reserved seats as prio2 and/or choose Reserved before GA.
Instead of bitching about other people than you wanting to see the band in Dallas - getting into Pearl Jam later than you, or being younger than you or whatever poor excuse you want to use to make you feel you have the right to get tickets before them - you could start a thread and ask for a swap or pay for a spare GA ticket.
But maybe you are to high up on your "old time member" horse to do that?"Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"0 -

+1. I think the OP didn't read/understand the lottery. You could pick both (which I think most people did). The 10c did mention that GA tickets were more limited....
At least he could of had a seat had he entered both.. it's a shame he missed out because of a mistake like that

It does seem the seniority thing is now gone as its completely removed from the initial equation by first applying a lottery and only after considering seniority. Why not simply consider seniority from the onset if it is still applicable? But maybe they do?0

Seniority was irrelevant for securing tickets under the previous system too.marcos wrote:It does seem the seniority thing is now gone as its completely removed from the initial equation by first applying a lottery and only after considering seniority. It only determines your seat location, not your likelihood of securing seats.0 -
Yea I'm late but like a lot of other people said, why didn't you put in reserved as a #2 option? GA is very limited compared to reserved you would have had a decent chance at reserved. Also, if this were the old system and you sat on your computer for hours not even getting through or getting any tickets in your cart, and the result was the same... would you feel any better?
I've been in the same position, I've been pissed about getting shut out of shows I really wanted to go to, the only show I picked. I didn't just give up I found some cool ass people on here who had spares and even pairs so I ended up going after all. It's almost always the case that if you look hard enough you can find someone to help you out there's a lot of time between now and Dallas, keep looking you still have lots of options.West Palm 2000 I & II/West Palm '03/Tampa '03/Kissimmee '04/Vic Theater '07/West Palm '08/Tampa '08/NYC MSG I & II '08/Philly Spectrum III & IV '09/Cleveland '10/Bristow '10/PJ20 I & II 2011/Pensacola '12/Pittsburgh '13/Denver '140 -

Picking both reserved and ga was the right play. You're not allowed to win both for the same show. Hope you pay closer attention next time you're in a similar situation.MD4331 wrote:Thanks for all the messages guys, good & bad. Again, I gambled on GA instead of reserved. As others have said, getting tickets for Dallas won't be difficult. There will be ten club seats offered up in here, I'm sure.0
-
I feel bad for you. You could have put down GA and reserved, without risking buying more than one pair of tickets - per the rules you could not have won more than once for the same show.
It does also seem unfair that some people got tickets for multiple shows while others got nothing, and there may be ways to improve that. But I think that most people who got shut out were shut out because their markets have higher demand.
And lastly, I disagree slightly that long term 10c memebrship is the only sign of a true fan. I have a been a fan of the band since the beginning, but I only joined the fan club recntly.
I hope that you can pick up a spare ticket somewhere0 -
You should have selected every ticket option that existed for the show. GA isn't that big and it's a lottery for that but Reserved tickets are based off of senority. Wish you would have got the tickets but it's not all on them. You can only get 2 tickets for each show. You should have read the rules better.Post edited by rizzdaddy on08-19-08 (Riverside Theater) Vedder(Solo) Milwaukee, WI
