I was more annoyed with Pearl Jam and their purposeful effort to avoid, Dallas, Houston, San Antonion, OKC, Tulsa, KC, Little Rock, Memphis, etc for more than 10 years. It was April 2003 for OKC and June 2013 for Dallas. That is ridiculous to do that to your fan base. Not everyone lives in New England, Chicago, or Europe. Not everyone has money to travel all around the country to see them play. They purposely chose to punish our part of the country because of the Red State/Political Ideals. Just because I live in Oklahoma or Arkansas does not mean I vote RED.

I held onto my membership for the last 10 years waiting for this chance. I told myself, if they did not come to this area, during the new album tour, I would cancel my membership. The reason I renew the membership is not for swag or records but for the right to win 10C tickets to a concert within a 8 hour drive. My patience was rewarded, my prayers answered by the Pearl Jam Gods, and I am pumped. I just hope to see two awesome concerts without any politcal bent. Rock me, please do not mock me. Yes, you are entitled to your opinion but, I pay to see you rock, not insult people for their opinions.

Oh wait, while I am on my soap box, please no covers. No Who, No Neil Young, no ......, Just PJ originals!!!

The stuff they rant about is the stuff that inspired them in their formative years. It's a part of them. I think they wouldn't hesitate to speak in opposition to the prevalent attitudes in the area if those attitudes are in opposition to theirs (and the attitudes might need change).

I hate you. Hear me out- I lived in Racine, the next largest city south of MKE, and as a high school student with an important exam that day I hoped the best with my friends going to the store to buy tickets. They did a lottery (lol) for purchasing numbers at that Boston Store Ticketmaster, and we were shut out. Now, this wouldn't be so bad, but in the ensuing years I met TONS of people who were at those shows, who were casual fans at best! Grrrrrr. I joined the Ten Club the next year.

    P.S. I don't really hate you.

I bought my tickets in Kenosha! Small world.

Not here to rip you and so sorry you didn't win but why not also put Dallas reserved as priority two? That would have increased your odds and you can only win one pair per sbow.
Exactly. You can only blame yourself.

But part of what this forum is also for is for like minded people to get to know each other and be able to help each other out. My suggestion is to keep your great membership number but engage in more of the regular conversations, as there are some if you look around and get to know the people who then may be able to help you out in time of need such as if you need a spare ticket or two. There is a crazy amount of good will and generosity that goes on in this place but can get overshadowed by the negativity? Also, You never know, PJ could scrap this ticket system at any time and go back to the seniority gig and you are right back in it. The thing about America is, if you don't want to support a product, or don't feel like you're getting value for your money, you don't have to buy it.

No sense and going on a message board and complaining about it.

I had one of the worst meals I ever had at a place in Miami once. Overpriced. Overcooked. Bland. So you know what I did? I just didn't go there anymore.

I didn't post about it on some stupid message board. Not everything has to be a friggin federal case.

I was in the same boat for Dallas. I could only go to one show and Dallas was the closest for me. But dude you can't really complain if you did not pick reserve as your second. Everyone was pretty much guaranteed to get their 1st or 2nd choice... but if you had no second your screwed. I haven't heard of many cases like this where someone only made one selection. Totally sucks but kind of your fault.

Dont do it dude......I've been a member since 93 and had 3 numbers. Once due to a terrible accident 2nd was just life throwing me curve balls. Although mine is isn't horrible its far off from what it started 4xxxx. I've seen some awesome shows and have sat up front few times but I wish I still had my first number. As for the newbies I think its cool to watch people fall in love with this band and get hooked like we did back in 91..The tickets have always been a nightmare but that's because its pearl jam. Pretty sweet after 23 years they still cause mad khaos :D

Come on! Ive been a member since 2000. I'm travelling almost 1,000 miles and spending money I don't have just to see the band in Hartford this year! I consider myself one of their biggest fans, but I feel one show per tour is enough for me (and yes, I've done multiple shows on a tour before). Maybe the 10C should adopt this as a ticket policy going forward. Prioritize your selections, get 1 pair to 1 show. Any more shows? Head to Ticketmaster. Would be a way happier message board if everyone got to share a piece of the band for the upcoming tour. I love the band, but there is nothing wrong with a little moderation/self control when it comes to their tour. Wish others felt the same.

I think getting shut out of your hometown should not happen. The ten club needs to get there shit together when it comes to distributing ten club tickets. I have been saying that people who live in the state where pearl jam is playing should be entitled to ten club tickets first. This would avoid people being screwed like this.

I grew up in a town of 16,000 people. So because of this, I shouldn't get tickets to Chicago over local Chicagoans? Had they not toured the east coast (like the rumor was), I was going to try for Seattle tickets through the 10C lottery. Under your system, that would be sacrilegious, right?

No way they can do that.

You do realize there aren't currently 350,000 current members of the fan club, right? Those numbers include people who have long since allowed their memberships to lapse. I love Pearl Jam, but I'll never understand fans who fill the need to elevate their popularity.

No Way! Seems to be a consensus on here that if you don't get 10c tickets to a show then you can't go the show. 8 shows and I've still yet to get a 10c ticket. Always got my tickets through the public sale.

Was reading through this thread today. Amazing what a journey some of these can be. What I learned:

    1. I really enjoyed the concerned, constructive replies to the op's post. There were some awesome suggestions and a real attempt at helping out a fellow fan.

    2. All the suggestions as to how the 10c could change their ticket policies. I think we know there is no way to keep everyone happy. Just aren't enough tickets, the band remains that popular.

    3. My belief is the 10c has a lot of opposing goals they need to deal with...never a fun thing in a business. How do you reward loyal fans, yet throw some "bones" to "newbies"? The fact that fans travel to shows all over is great for a lot of people ( hotels, restaurants, tourist companies like bus tours etc.), but it makes it tougher for people like the op to get tickets to the one hometown show he/she can afford. What to do? All things considered, I think they do a great job.

    4. I have been fortunate to get hooked up with posters, bootlegs, etc. as a result of being a member of this community. It's a great bunch of people out there. If anyone can help get a ticket in the hand of the op, please do it.

    Sorry for the long post....thanks.

Last year they played in Sweden for the first time in 12 years, did I get any 10C tickets? No, the system crashed and I had to get a ticket from public sale. I become a member 1993 and did I quit just because I didn't get 10C ticket, no way, I still love their music and what the band stands for. There's always a way into the arena, probably a fellow 10C fan can get you a GA.

If I was giving away my spare GA ticket to a member (and I just might for Vancouver), the first thing I'd do before deciding who to give it to is have a look at each candidate's posts around the time of the lottery and make sure they didn't start any threads like this.

  • Too lazy to read 6 pages, so maybe this has been said, but if I had your number, I would have put reserved as my top choice. Great seats without having to worry about the pit and the presumably lower odds.

At the very least, put it as your second, and you would have had great seats if you lost ga.

I have no sympathy because you put yourself in the plight. Good luck in life.
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.
  • Let's turn a frown upside down & as a community help each other? I have 2 spare tickets to Oakland. Does anyone have 2 tickets to Dallas for the OP?
