Does GA sections promote multiple memberships?
So I was thinking about this before the tour announcement. Should my wife sign up for the 10C? We were considering bringing our two boys since they are both fans of what mom and dad listen to. It would seem with the new GA section and the need to rank both GA and reserved as separate entities that it would be smart to have a second membership.
I could take my higher seniority number and always rank reserved seats as #1 to guarantee entry into the building and let her use her new low seniority number to always rank GA seats. With this strategy we wouldn't have to go down our priority list as far if we wanted to get to multiple shows. It would also give you a much higher chance of not being shut out of your local show. Finally, it could be used to get into two consecutive nights at big shows like NYC or LA.
Downside would be if you hit all your shows you could end up paying twice as much. If I were to win both, I would just sell them to another 10 clubber or if my local show bring friends along. I haven't seen too many comments on this but seems pretty obvious to me.

I guess I'll just have to have 6 computers working during the general sales to try to get tickets to all the shows I want to go to.

Low ten club numbers don't guarantee anything.
With the new lottery you must first win, and then your seniority comes into play.
Wanted to inform you of this so your not disappointed if your not chosen.

But with the two option method that the Ten Club has instituted, a high demand show might have significantly more requests for GA than the number of available tickets. Take this imaginary scenario. Say that there are 2000 tickets for a show broken up evenly between GA and reserved. You put in GA for your first choice and are chosen number 1100. 1050 of the members before you gave GA as their first choice so you lost. Your second choice was Hartford reserved but the demand was so high that you didn't win those either. You only wanted one show and lost out due to demand and the flukely way that the numbers are chosen.
But, if they were just pulling 2000 names and sorting them out afterwards you would miss out on GA but still get reserved seating. I know that the vast majority of us would just be happy to go to the show.
It won't be an issue with this tour since the eligibility window has closed but I can see this being a huge problem on future tours. People will see the beneft of having multiple memberships and will sign up their spouses, siblings, or friends. It really doesn't matter what number you get if you are just going for GA tickets. Basically you are buying a $20 lottery ticket. Then everyone will be selecting GA with their secondary membership and the demand will skyrocket making the GA tickets even harder to win.
He will never post here (doesnt post anywhere)...not sure why earlier poster said it matters???
Lol on the wife & girlfriend comment!!!
Edit to add---we didnt do it to try for GA, because we didnt know about the change then. Plenty of people dont want GA.

just 1 lottery win for GA NYC and the scalpers membership costs would be covered, as well as a trip to maui
nope because no scalper would F5 for 5 hours for a small chance on row 1&2 and 9&10(hottest tickets)
NOW the band has a GA pit out front. in NYC those tickets are worth $250 each minimum
the scalpers now have no work involved. submit for GA as it's a 100% lottery. IF they win they win big. if they dont they only lose what a digital membership costs them
They still have to expend the time and energy to go pick up the tickets in person on the day of the show which doesn't really allow them much time to sell. Also, in theory tickets could be cheaper then.
I don't think the new system encourages scalping or multiple memberships. I think when people realize that in a larger tour they get their 2nd and 3rd choices in some cases, the panic will calm down a bit.
...are those who've helped us.
Right 'round the corner could be bigger than ourselves.
imo there is no effort re time and energy to pick up tickets day of show, especially if the tickets are worth gold
tickets get sold on the street in front of the venue all the time, especially in NYC
AND if the scalper knows he won GA then he can start to advertise his sale next tuesday
even if 10C kicks him out after he has sold the pair he can still sign up his cousins brother and do the same thing next time they play nyc
That's what gets lost in the debate about "senior" members getting the front seats: at least they were almost always staying within the PJ-diehard community. And even if you didn't win the row 1-2 and 9-10 lottery, you still had a shot to find a spare and get up there for face value. Now your best shot will be exorbitant tickets on Stuhbub.

Truth hurts, don't shoot the messenger!
I have since bought my own membership and attended 16 shows (15 with him).
Having 2 memberships is great because if he wins, he takes me and If I win I take him
The only flaw in our plan is if we both win the same night, but we both have our 1st priority for opposite Brooklyn shows (seated) so hopefully 4 tickets is all we will get because thats all we need.
