Don't wave it around all show obviously but it would be cool to see Matt smile widely at that. And Chris would love it for sure.
Ok back to outshined. So Chris starts reading a sign, and it says, "Can I play guitar on Outshined" and Chris was like here? Are you good? The guy totally sold it so Chris goes, "Come on up" and he did. On the stage for the entire song. Awesomeness.
That's great. Even though I felt like a huge dork, I'm glad I took the sign last November to wish Matt a happy birthday after he saw it and acknowledged it. Won't be in the pit this time when they play the Wiltern but from what I saw at the Fonda and the reviews I've seen thus far of the current tour, I'm sure I'll be in for another stellar show.0 -
Anyone going to see Soundgarden who wouldn't mind picking me up a shirt? I want the black tour shirt with a lot of yellow on it, and it says "Louder Than Fuck". They ran out of small sizes, I need a mens size Small. Please PM me if you can help0

I saw Soundgarden last night at Sound Academy in Toronto by myself. The venue is entirely General Admission. I got to the venue one hour before the gates open and I was surprised to see that only 10-15 people were already in line. After a coat check and gone to the washroom, I've managed to be at the barricade on the left side, where Kim Thayil is. Soundgarden took the stage at 8:35-8:40 PM. Overall, it was a very good concert. They played a 28 songs, 2 h 30 min set. The crowd actually got more aggressive only about 11 songs in. Despite this, I was able to stay at the same spot throughout the whole show. I even managed to high-five and fist-bump Chris Cornell during two songs (when he wasn't carrying his guitar). The only down side of the show was that the volume of Chris' vocal was weak. He sounded really good, just that the music was a bit louder than Chris singing, but I was still able to hear him throughout the show. Kim Thayil, Ben Shepherd and Matt Cameron were awesome as well. I definitely would go see them again. Here's the setlist for the first Toronto show:
Been Away Too Long
My Wave
Spoonman
Searching With My Good Eye Closed
Jesus Christ Pose
Let Me Drown
By Crooked Steps
Taree
Blow Up the Outside World
Fell on Black Days
Non-State Actor
Drawing Flies
Hunted Down
Ugly Truth
Live to Rise
Halfway There
Hands All Over
Room a Thousand Years Wide
Rhinosaur
Superunknown
Fresh Tendrils
Black Hole Sun
Attrition
Rusty Cage
Encore:
Outshined
Flower
Incessant Mace
Slaves & Bulldozers

A great Soundgarden week for Philly. A breathtaking show at the Tower and confirmation of Soundgarden and Alice In Chains both playing the yearly WMMRBQ ( this year it's on 5/18/13 in Camden) ."Buy the ticket, take the ride"
Dr. Hunter S. Thompson
"If I wanted you to understand, I would have explained it better"

Thanks for posting the setlist! I was there too. Based on your desription I was probably 2-3 rows of people right behind you. I was about 4-5 people back in front of Kim. I noticed the same thing regarding the volume of Chris' vocals. I found a video of Superunknown on youtube and it seems like the sound may have been a little better farther back. Either way, a great show. Too bad the show was at the worst concert venue in Toronto. This show was the 3rd concert I have seen at the Sound Academy (Muse and the Headstones being the other 2) and I have been disappointed with the sound each time. Anyway, here is a vid of Superunknown from last night:

Last night's show was spectacular, but I agree sometimes Chris' voice was muffled by the rest of the music. The highlight last night was easily Chris trading a Soundgarden shirt for a Canada sweatshirt.0 -

jasonbouchard88 wrote:Have fun tonight. At least the weather is a bit warmer and calmer tonight. I hope you'll be more on the left side and even closer to the stage. I'm sure tonight's setlist will be even better than last night. Are you hoping Soundgarden will play 30 songs?0

Tonight's show was just as good as Friday's. 29 songs played, including 4th of July, Fresh Tendrils, Dusty, Loud Love, Beyond the Wheel, Burden in my Hand and The Day I Tried to Live (all of which were unique to this night). There's no way I can say either show was better, so I'll just remember the two nights as a whole were insane.0

Was at last night's show. Matt Cameron definitely has another level playing in Soundgarden vs. PJ. Cornell was very good.
Great set list with some older gems thrown in...which I would take over Black hole sun.
