So Chris really likes the signs, can someone please bring a MATT FUCKING CAMERON sign to the next show? That's my only regret not bringing a sign for Matt. Don't wave it around all show obviously but it would be cool to see Matt smile widely at that. And Chris would love it for sure.
Ok back to outshined. So Chris starts reading a sign, and it says, "Can I play guitar on Outshined" and Chris was like here? Are you good? The guy totally sold it so Chris goes, "Come on up" and he did. On the stage for the entire song. Awesomeness.
That's great. Even though I felt like a huge dork, I'm glad I took the sign last November to wish Matt a happy birthday after he saw it and acknowledged it. Won't be in the pit this time when they play the Wiltern but from what I saw at the Fonda and the reviews I've seen thus far of the current tour, I'm sure I'll be in for another stellar show.
I REALLY wish I had brought a sign. I'm not a sign person, don't like to call attention to myself but I really would have loved to shower appreciation on Matt. Oh well, next time
Anyone going to see Soundgarden who wouldn't mind picking me up a shirt? I want the black tour shirt with a lot of yellow on it, and it says "Louder Than Fuck". They ran out of small sizes, I need a mens size Small. Please PM me if you can help

Hope someone can pick it up for you, Su!

I saw some earlier merch pics and didn't see the shirt, so it's possile they didn't have it at your show. Someone's trying for me tonight, if not I have backups
I saw Soundgarden last night at Sound Academy in Toronto by myself. The venue is entirely General Admission. I got to the venue one hour before the gates open and I was surprised to see that only 10-15 people were already in line. After a coat check and gone to the washroom, I've managed to be at the barricade on the left side, where Kim Thayil is. Soundgarden took the stage at 8:35-8:40 PM. Overall, it was a very good concert. They played a 28 songs, 2 h 30 min set. The crowd actually got more aggressive only about 11 songs in. Despite this, I was able to stay at the same spot throughout the whole show. I even managed to high-five and fist-bump Chris Cornell during two songs (when he wasn't carrying his guitar). The only down side of the show was that the volume of Chris' vocal was weak. He sounded really good, just that the music was a bit louder than Chris singing, but I was still able to hear him throughout the show. Kim Thayil, Ben Shepherd and Matt Cameron were awesome as well. I definitely would go see them again. Here's the setlist for the first Toronto show:
Been Away Too Long
My Wave
Spoonman
Searching With My Good Eye Closed
Jesus Christ Pose
Let Me Drown

Taree
Blow Up the Outside World
Fell on Black Days

A great Soundgarden week for Philly. A breathtaking show at the Tower and confirmation of Soundgarden and Alice In Chains both playing the yearly WMMRBQ ( this year it's on 5/18/13 in Camden) .

That should be a very good show. I can see Soundgarden co-headline a show or tour with Alice In Chains, but not with Pearl Jam as long as Matt Cameron is the drummer for both bands.

Yeah, the weather sure slowed down the turnout. I got there around 7:20 and got a pretty sweet spot on Ben's side, around six or seven rows of people back. I'm doing tonight's show solo, so I think I'm going to get there earlier and secure a closer spot.
Last night's show was spectacular, but I agree sometimes Chris' voice was muffled by the rest of the music. The highlight last night was easily Chris trading a Soundgarden shirt for a Canada sweatshirt.

That is pretty cool that you probably were pretty close to me. Small world. I was wearing a black long-sleeve dry-fit shirt that says PeakPerformance in the front and blue jeans. I also wore earplugs, more to reduce the volume of the crowd screaming. The only other time I was at Sound Academy was for Alexisonfire's farewell tour on Friday, December 28, 2012. The sound for that show was better as I was able to hear vocals quite well, but it still wasn't the best sound. Maybe like you said that be a little farther back the sound may be better. I was like 5 rows from the stage on the right, but almost halfway through the set, I was unintentionally 5-7 rows further back (lot of moshing and pushing), though it was much calmer there. Should have stayed in the pit, but I still had a great time.

Have fun tonight. At least the weather is a bit warmer and calmer tonight. I hope you'll be more on the left side and even closer to the stage. I'm sure tonight's setlist will be even better than last night. Are you hoping Soundgarden will play 30 songs?

I haven't really decided where I'm going to stand tonight. At my other three shows I was on Kim's side, so I might do another Ben side tonight. I'll take thirty songs from this band any day! Even if they only play five songs, I'm sure this show will kick my ass.
Tonight's show was just as good as Friday's. 29 songs played, including 4th of July, Fresh Tendrils, Dusty, Loud Love, Beyond the Wheel, Burden in my Hand and The Day I Tried to Live (all of which were unique to this night). There's no way I can say either show was better, so I'll just remember the two nights as a whole were insane.

I saw the setlist for last night's show and I noticed how there were some songs that I wished they played on Friday. I had to read the setlist several times because I noticed that Black Hole Sun was nowhere to be seen. Not that it is my favourite song, I mean, I like it, it's just that because it's their most famous song, I would assume they'd play it at every single show. Guess not. Not the first time I see that. On September 11, 2011, Pearl Jam played their first of their two shows in Toronto and they didn't play Even Flow. And last year, I saw Iron Maiden and they didn't play Hallowed Be Thy Name at all. Glad you enjoyed both shows.

My fiance and I stayed downtown to celebrate his birthday. We headed to the venue around 3:30 to find 15 people in line already. We snagged fast-lane passes after being out in the cold for way too long.... so we went to the bar until 6pm. Met SOOO many awesome people outside; so great to be around people that share your passions. No place I'd rather be.
Nick and I were the 10th people in the door, took the spot on the rail between Chris and Ben with a perfect view of Matt in between.
Kim was very nice and appreciative and came out to thank the crowd as the crew was tearing down. Watching him and Chris battle a bit was totally sweet.
Ben was AMAZING!! To be right in front of that fucking bass line and it vibrating your entire body. Ahh. Ben and I shared a few laughs together- mostly about a big fucking goober that landed on the floor next to him. He's very animated when he plays. At one point, he got pissed because he couldnt hear his bass from the side floor speaker. He took his bass, in the middle of a song, and tried to jam the neck into the speaker. Only a dent, but then he flipped it over and bashed it some more. He then threw his bass against the wall and just went off on the tech guys. He is an insanely amazing bassist!
Chris came into the crowd as well. Stood on the rail right in front of us and continued singing. Pretty amazing experience. He was on point the majority of the night, too and there was little to no talking between songs which is completely different from what I am used to.
Matt is always amazing to watch- the true heart of the band. Just fucking went and went and went. The girl behind us in line had a sign that said MATT FUCKING CAMERON on one side, and ROOM on the other. Ben grabbed it from her and had Matt sign it in between the 2nd and 3rd song. So happy for her!!
There was a guy climbing the walls, trying to make it to a speaker stack to the right of the stage, almost made it too.... except when he got to the armored man statue. He grabbed the spear that the statue was holding and fell, the spear landing on the speakers. Security went after the guy and Ben grabbed the spear and him and Chris fucked around with it for the rest of the show.
Got to meet the girl that won the Detroit Talenthouse contest- cant wait to see her shots!! And Jesse, Ed's bodyguard, is on the road with the guys and its always great to see him.
Such a great experience with great friends. Ears are still ringing, voice is nearly gone. This high is gonna last a long time!

Well, that was awesome! Neither Cav nor I had seen SG live before, so we were pretty excited what it would be like. Like one of their t-shirts says, they were "Louder than fuck" Next time, I'll bring ear plugs! We were in the middle of the GA section. The venue was beautiful and I loved that it didn't feel like totally packed even though it was sold out. The mosh pit was right in front of us, but didn't start until the last third of the show I think.
Matt Cameron was outstanding, I never heard his playing so clear. It really blew my mind. I would have loved to hear Chris Cornell's voice a little louder too, but maybe that was because of where we stood. The episode with the spear was quite funny! One thing was a little annoying, but it didn't have to do with the show. There were phones in the air blocking mine and everybody else's view for the first third to half of the show. There was a point where all I could see in front of me was phones  But maybe also this was due to where we stood.
We met Nick outside - happy belated birthday , but due to the weather conditions weren't really keen on spending too much time outside. So we sneaked into a bar and went in later like everybody else.
Heisenberg - such a pity that we didn't meet! Where were you?
A pretty sweet experience! I hope everybody came home without being in a car crash and cannot wait for PJ to play the D
Please, Pearl Jam, consider a Benaroya Hall vinyl reissue!

I didn't grab a poster, but I think they might pop some on their site eventually. They definitely didn't sell out. When I went to the merch table after the show there were still night 1 posters available. Night 1 poster was limited to 200 and someone beside me was looking at it, and I saw it was #142 (I think). So there are probably some left over. I didn't grab either, since I'm saving money at the moment.

Really wish I was going back home to see them at the Rave this weekend.

Totally agree. Incredible show. I just wish they would have finished the setlist. "Nothing To Say" and "Beyond The Wheel" were listed for the encore but never played
Agreed! Fantastic show, except for the ride home with ice covered roads!! The band sounded awesome and a great set list!
