I wonder what they'll do with tickets for shows that don't sell out. We know the markets that sell out immediately, but there are always some that take a couple days or even a couple weeks. After the whole lottery/preference process is sorted out will they put up shows for purchase where there are tickets still remaining?

I immagine they get released to the public sale if they are not all sold- another thing for people to think about when slecting shows
...got a mind full of questions and a teacher in my soul...
And yeah, probably everyone else is right  :shifty: It's not the end of the world if you don't score 10c tix. There is always people who need a ticket buddy and also the general sale.

Please, Pearl Jam, consider a Benaroya Hall vinyl reissue!

Public sale or put up in the Ten Club Shop? I just emailed them to see if they have a plan in place. Just curious because that would work out well for the folks who want to pick and choose a couple extra shows.
If you select a max of 1 show... and pick all 15 shows in priority order... then you will only get selected for one show. You don't get tickets for all 15 and then get to pick and choose. The system randomly picks people. If your name was drawn for your 4th 8th and 12th choice show... and you have a max set to 1.. you'll get your forth choice and the other 3 will be given to someone else.
ok,in better english,that i was trying to say!..great idea.
I really like this as well. (Sounds like it might be tough for a programmer though. This is also a backup to make sure someone who wants to go to at least one show doesn't get shut out (especially if they only put in for NY). Also ensures 10C sells another set of tickets.
The issue is that cities like NY, Boston, Philly already may have more 10c members living in the area alone than the allotted 10 amount. Then throw in everyone not from that area also trying for these tickets. I don't think that will work like you think.
...got a mind full of questions and a teacher in my soul...
No one is saying that though... where are you getting this from? If you select a max of 1 show... and pick all 15 shows in priority order... then you will only get selected for one show. You don't get tickets for all 15 and then get to pick and choose. The system randomly picks people. If your name was drawn for your 4th 8th and 12th choice show... and you have a max set to 1.. you'll get your forth choice and the other 3 will be given to someone else. We are talking about improving the system.. your replies of "that's life" are not constructive.
Sorry. Someone did actually say that, and in very close proximity to your comment. But, I do apologize that I linked the 2.
I wouldn't be against the max idea up front. Keep picking until I get X number of shows. What I was alluding to was another post(s) that said - give them all to me, then I'll throw some back in the next 24 hours.
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

Yes, of course getting club tickets is a main reason to be a member.
Tell that to the guy who lives in South Africa...
In my onw case, I've been a member from 98 to 02, back in 2006 and counting... 2 shows in my city so far: tickets are out of the picture... though your comment makes a lot of sense...
i agree with all..
and really,if someone want to see 11-12 times, there are spares out there, and other than fan club tix..
if u dont score to all shows that you want, doesnt mean you cant go to the show
if someone can afford 10+ tickets and afford the time off to do that, that someone surely can afford a ticket anyehere in the venue, even from scalpers...
the purpose of this one week trial is giving enough time for those who are constantly checking the boards and those who aren't enough time to try this new system, get tickets, cancel tickets, rearrange the schedule, take part on the contest of course, but mainly, to see how this new system works for us, works for the ticketing, and of course, how long will it take before it crashes... this is a trial, it's not definite, the ticket terms and conditions we see now during this trial may change in the future, and probably when this is for real, it won't be as smooth... but this trial as it is gives you the chance and time to think and choose as many shows as you want without risking the site goes down before you can place the order, and therefore you get more chances to be drawn, not because the number of entries, we all lose there, but because the systems allows you to pick more shows... besides, even though they are gonna miss getting texted, people from Eastern Europe won't have to stay up until sunrises to get tickets...
... I am not in the business of being liked anymore ...
I like that you have to have the money and be prepared to pay for all the tickets you pick. This way it will stop people from picking every show unless they PLAN on going to every show.
I'm in CT, the ticket buying process in this area has been so bad in the last few years for me, I'll be happy with a change. People hate when I bring it up, but DMB ticket system works for me and it's the same. You get about 10 days to make up your mind, pick your shows and wait to see if you have tickets. They tell you before public sale so if your shut out you can go to TM. It's all very civilized and I dig it.
My plan at the moment is to try for my area, Northeast, and also try for a less populated area...ex...Virginia. If I get MSG yay, if I only get VA, so be it. I'm too old and tired for this f5 crap.
Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!
So, probably a stupid question but the Benny doesn't say it is the vinyl set. Couldn't it be the CD set? I realize the email says rare but all the other merch specifically says vinyl. Not trying to be a negative nancy but was curious since everyone seems to be assuming it's the vinyl.
Are we getting something out of this all-encompassing trip?
Seems my preconceptions are what should have been burned...

It says "box set." The Cd was not released as a box set. Just a fairly normal looking cardboard bootleg package. Only the vinyl was released as a box set.

Gotcha, figured there was a reasonable explanation!

How about you just don't put in for shows you're unsure of being able to go to? Why should you (effectively) get to decide if another member gets tickets or not?
If you can go, sign up. If you can't, too bad. I hope they don't work all these angles to force folks to think before they purchase (or "suffer" the consequences - that's called life).
100% in favor of the lottery but also in favor of this. I understand scheduling conundrums some may face but you don't need 10C tickets to go to a show. Enter for shows you know you can attend and then fill in the blanks with other tickets. The view from the balcony will not kill you.
i was gonna just post this too..
nbo 10c tickets doesnt mean you will not be at the show./..you can always find spares or tix in the market
Agree. I didn't buy any fan club tickets for Europe 2012 even though I went to 7 shows over there. I needed flexibility so I went the public sale route so that I could sell them if I couldn't make the trip. I still ended up with standing at both Berlin shows, 7 rows up on the side in Amsterdam, standing in Prague and Copenhagen. Only ended up with one "bad" ticket in Stockholm which was a good chance to relax and just focus on the music. I'm sure if I tried I could have found extra 10c to every show.

that's not necessarily true regarding scalpers

This could work. Let's say you have to purchase "Credits" for all the shows you want to go. So PJ is playing 4 nights in my hometown. I can only afford to go to two shows. So I prioritize my list in order of 1-4, like it is now. I go to another screen and pre-pay for two of them. So now I get two credits on the system. Show 1 gets raffled, I don't win. Show 2 gets raffled, I win (now I have 1 credit left). Show 3 gets raffled and I win. Now I have no credits left. Show 4 gets raffled and I get drawn, but I have no credits left so the tickets go in for a re-raffle. The system loops through this until all tickets are gone.

This new ticketing system is a great idea, especially for the popular tour cities. Hopefully gone are the days of the website crashing, and people having cardiac arrests just trying to buy concert tickets. The test of the faux tour is smart as well and I want to win that damn backpack!
