Obviously I will try the lottery system, but I remain highly skeptical. ANd I don't understand why some people seem to have such a problem with senority.
If you were 20 years old, you'd understand. Step into other folks' shoes once in a while. They tend to be uncomfortable at first, but you'll work them in.
yes..unfortunetely the ones born at 90's they will never see a show close, except win 1,2-9,10 rows lottery
only at usa - canada shows..the rest of the world, dont have this problem
And the funny thing is, that's a good way to limit the growth of the club. Quite frankly, I wouldn't join at this point where I live. The general sale will be just as good if not better seats, and I wouldn't have to wonder if I was getting them.
Nice to reward longevity. I get that. But, maybe it should be reverse. First 15-20 rows are random then start seniority. We'd still wind up guaranteed good seats, but the truly great seats would be "shared." Instead of 4 rows make it the first 15 or 20 (or 10, or whatever).
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.
I am still not feeling this lottery system, especially if the only city you live near is Toronto. I can understand if you have multiple show condesnsed into a small area. So JP will probably do 2 nights in Toronto, and I don't think TM sell out of tickets right away. Now, I am sure some people will say that I could get my tickets through TM if I don't get tickets through the lottery, but I would say to them I have my 10c membership so I don't have to deal with TM, I have it so I can get good tickets. I don't pay for a 10c membership for the chance to enter a lottery.
Obviously I will try the lottery system, but I remain highly skeptical. ANd I don't understand why some people seem to have such a problem with senority.
yes,but who said that with the previous system you will get tix??
lottery or not,10c has some fan club tix to sell..ALL no matter the method will sale them, goes to 10c members..
before tix goes to the lucky ones that their pc wasnt frozen, crach, need to be specific time to your pc for the presale,f5 for hours,
now tix goes to the people are lucky at the lottery, and dont have to torture themself to get a fan club tix..
with the previous system, same with the now system, the 10c members wanna see the show and didnt score, buy from ticketmaster or get spares from 10c members that scored tix..
and seniority is a reward to the members are at 10c alot of years in the row..i agree to that..
but used only to the ones score tix already..
chances to score tix ,must be fair to all 10c members..not matter seniority
That is just it, I don't see the ranking system as fair to everyone, it is great in out of the way places, it is not in the heavily populated areas. If using a lottery- it would be better to just do a true lottery for every show.
And as for everyone keep saying just get a spare here, not everyone goes to shows solo.
...got a mind full of questions and a teacher in my soul...
Except they use them for the general sale. So, what's the difference?
And, let's get off the scalping crap. If these concerts were priced properly to begin with, that wouldn't be an issue. You can't play the - we want to make it affordable card FOLLOWED by the - why are others making money off us card. Not saying PJ themselves do. And not saying the former is a BAD thing necessarily. But, you can't have it both ways. The market will bear what it will bear. Move on with your lives.
Oh but they do. And there is no choice because you can't plan an arena "tour" and not use TM.

i agree about the ranking system...
but if you dont score 10c tix ,no matter the system they sell them, you need to buy them somewhere..
isnt lottery issue that someone will not score tix..
not all 10c members are at shows, score 10c tickets..happens all the time, with all the ticket saling system

No - I meant that I wasn't saying PJ was making those COMMENTS that immediately preceded that. My original sentence indicates they use TM. That's the silliness of all this. We're making fire, but we don't want to use matches for our members because matches start forest fires. But, once we're done with that, the matches are fine because we realize that's a more efficient way to have a fire/tour. It's cukoo.
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.
is tis a band issue??promoters?venue?
you mean ticketmaster tix?or fanclub tix??
cos let say fan club tix,at MSG...first rows, will be so expensive...
Yes. All of them. And, I'm well aware of your last point. So what? (realizing I am becoming the least popular 10C member moment by moment).
lol on the last comment..
how this will work in lottery??..and if goes like that,i think 1-2 rows will not bew lottery, for members..

and how young members can afford expensive tix??

Yeah, but if you're going to wind up 50th row floor, what's the point? I might as well sit on the sides or a few rows back, but on risers via the regular sale.
Like I said. If I was a "poor" college kid that wanted tickets, I would not bother with this club.
Quite frankly, I'd almost prefer they have FEWER tickets, and let everyone fight it out in the regular sale for the 11th row (if you understand the logic). That way the club tickets are truly the premium seats (Where possible), and the 2ndary seats are just in the regular sale, so we can decide whether we really want them or not.
Honestly, I'm at the point where I need more then 2 tickets to most shows, so this doesn't help me much anymore anyway. (Which is why I'd also prefer they move to like a 4 ticket per tour or leg thing and let me "use" them via a TM pre-sale any way I'd like. I know that's not happening, and I'm not even advocating for it. But as we get older and want to bring others, this becomes more of a consideration. That's what The Who did, and while I didn't get first 10 rows, 3 of my sons are very much looking forward to seeing Quad with me in February)

Will TM kick back the "fee" on the 10% they sell on 10 Club's behalf?

No different than GA or seated in Mars. You want first 20 rows - here's price - go in lottery. You want 100's - here's price - go in lottery. So, on and so forth. You'd only necessarily need 2 or 3 levels for the lottery. Again, I'm for a pre-sale code through TM and let folks buy tickets how they normally do. But, if you want to do it via lottery, they are already setting up that mechanism.
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

Why do I care? None of my business. When I buy TM tickets, I consider the fee part of the ticket price. Just like when I buy something in the store, I add tax in my head to figure out the total cost.

You don't, but maybe 10 Club does... monies for their operations. There is a fee built in to those ticket prices you're paying here. Why would they want to lose that?

I missed this part. True dat.
But, not necessarily. If you price it "properly," I'm guessing most people don't take that selection more than once or twice a tour. If they can, so be it. The band has earned it (the money, I mean). But, again, even the rich have limits.
And you know, certain folks will find their way into those positions anyway without the premium.
Also, nothing says, the band couldn't still do lottery for certain SEATS in those rows for 10C members. Wouldn't be entire rows, obviously. But, it could be balanced.
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

Of course. Then price the tix accordingly. Again, not my business. The only part that is is when they determine the final price, I can decide it's worth my money or not.

I disagree with this statement. I was able to go 30/33 not by being lucky. And as I said earlier, if the lottery was in place for those 33 shows I tried for in the past, there is no way I would have been selected 30 out of 33 times. This is all you have to know. Seriously, if the lottery was in place for those 33 shows, how many times do you think I would have scored tix via the ticket lottery? It wouldnt be a lot. Most being the northeast. Im telling you guys right now that live in high demand areas. You will be lucky to score 1 pair. Say if you you are like me living in Connecticut. I go to Boston, Hartford, & New York & Philly. All short distances. If they put all those in the same on sale lottery block. If you get chosen for your priority 1, I just see it impossible to score tickets to any other show because there wont be enough tickets to even meet the priority 1 demands.
For people who dont live in the northeast, Chicago, Seattle etc, of course you will love this. But for us folks in the northeast. It looks like 1 set of fan club tickets. Unless you want to travel to a non high demand city. But heck, lets face it, it seems they dont play small markets that much anymore. And they dont tour nearly as much anymore. So that amplifies the problem. You have more and more people having to travel to New York just to see them because they dont play a person's hometown anymore. And by the time they do tour, people are chomping at the bit, so they jump the gun and try to score tickets to a place they normally wouldn't travel too. Thinkign they may not get to see them. Because they dont announce the whole tour at once anymore. So you have more out of towners trying to score tickets, making it even harder to get ticket. All of this is different problem in its own.

And, BTW, my guess is this ticket operation is costing them more than what they would wind up "paying" TM to do it.
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.
My only fear with the new system is that there will be a lot of empty seats at venues when people put in for a ton of concerts to make sure they get a couple and then get too many and can't afford to travel, etc. I hope that's not the case.
Otherwise, I think it's a pretty decent system. Although as someone asked...if you don;t get selected for your #1 priority show, does your #2 priority show automatically get changed to a #1 priority or is it still a #2 priority and you are in line behind all the other #1's?

Everyone who put a show as priority 1 is in first drawing.
Then, if tix left, the 2nd priorities get thrown in hat.
Then, if tix left, 3rd. So on and so forth.
So if you don't get 1st priority and haven't chosen wisely - you are SoL! Think about it.

All of this is different problem in its own.
i understand..but sorry..
the whole planet isnt NY-Philly -Boston..
they will make a system works better to ever place in the world..
cant think,we will stay at f5 pain in the ass cos those folks at northeast want to go to more than a show..
ill tell u this, and to remind u, im one of the guys that goes to more than one show at a tour leg..
do you think, all 10c tic will be for sale ,for the members, will be sold out??
i think yes...
means, will go to 10c members..well..its ok..better more different members score them..

Yes. All of them. And, I'm well aware of your last point. So what? (realizing I am becoming the least popular 10C member moment by moment).
That is just it, I don't see the ranking system as fair to everyone, it is great in out of the way places, it is not in the heavily populated areas. If using a lottery- it would be better to just do a true lottery for every show.
And as for everyone keep saying just get a spare here, not everyone goes to shows solo.
but if you dont score 10c tix ,no matter the system they sell them, you need to buy them somewhere..
isnt lottery issue that someone will not score tix..
not all 10c members are at shows, score 10c tickets..happens all the time, with all the ticket saling system

It's cukoo.
how this will work in lottery??..and if goes like that,i think 1-2 rows will not bew lottery, for members..
cos those rows bring the most cash..
and how young members can afford expensive tix??
so,the same old people will be upfront!!

And, BTW, my guess is this ticket operation is costing them more than what they would wind up "paying" TM to do it.
"...I changed by not changing at all..."
