Let's post why we need guns.... besides
As George Washington wrote, “A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government.” George Mason said, “I ask, sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people...To disarm the people is the best and most effectual way to enslave them.”

    this story is the rare exception.

    i am not surprised because all the pro gun people on amt are scouring the internet looking for every story like this one that they can find and startng a new thread about it, as if it is going to change someone's mind or something.

    for every story like this one i can find 10 where the person with the gun misses or freezes and does not save anybody.

    fact is, guns save lives by taking lives.

    next justification please.

    it is easy to talk big and bad on this forum. it is another thing to really act like you are saying you would act.

    i would like to see all of you who think you are billy the kid or calamity jane carry a gun into a convenince store that is being robbed and see what you all would do about it. let's put your money where your mouths are.

    fact is, sometimes even miliary people who have been trained to handle firearms freeze when under fire. what makes any of you think that you won't?

    and DISCIPLINED!!!!!!!! Because common citizens werent found to be disciplined that is why we now have a standing PROFESSIONAL army therefore the main reason FOR the 2nd amendment was made moot which was to defend the country in time of war!!

    i'd shot a bad dude in a heart beat if it meant my life/my loved ones lives or his. he's goin down, frig it. problem is i don't own a gun anymore. dammit... one of these days i think i'm gonna see what it takes to aquire myself something for home security & can target shooting.

    what is funny is the other few weeks back i pulled my axe out from under my bed. i was like..."what the fuck?" "how the frig did my axe get under my bed?" to this day i still don't know the answer... i have knives all over my place & an axe ready to go should some nut case break into my home whilst i'm sleeping.

    a nice double bladed axe to the chest might ruin a dude's day, yes/no? problem is he may have a m-16 :lol:

    It's called personal responsibility....some have it some do not.....no one is looking for trouble....do you think this woman was looking for this.....and I am sure she did not want to shoot anyone especially in front of her children.....but mamma has to do what mamma has to do...

    Um... Nobody's life was saved in that story. He didn't threaten to kill them and he wasn't armed.

    He's broken it to places before and never killed anyone. I'm not defending him but she just shot and probably killed a guy.. So the gun didn't save a life, it ended one.
