Make that 5-0 when scoring 24 pts
This D is good - couple of playmakers on O and some depth in the secondary and we will not be far away from playoffs in the next few yrs!

Well...the 5-0 when scoring 24 points stat might not really be a good thing. What's learned from that stat is that we've only scored 24 points 5 times this season and that's not enough. That's why we're near the bottom of the league in points per game. The D is good. But the offense needs (and is gonna get) a overhaul. Long and Bush will likely be gone. We need a big-play receiver. And Tannehill, though serviceable at times, is way behind the curve compared to Luck, Wilson, RG3, and even Kaepernick. It'll be a process. But for the most part, I'm happy with the job Philbin has done so far.2000: Camden 1, 2003: Philly, State College, Camden 1, MSG 2, Hershey, 2004: Reading, 2005: Philly, 2006: Camden 1, 2, East Rutherford 1, 2007: Lollapalooza, 2008: Camden 1, Washington D.C., MSG 1, 2, 2009: Philly 1, 2, 3, 4, 2010: Bristol, MSG 2, 2011: PJ20 1, 2, 2012: Made In America, 2013: Brooklyn 2, Philly 2, 2014: Denver, 2015: Global Citizen Festival, 2016: Philly 2, Fenway 1, 2018: Fenway 1, 2, 2021: Sea. Positives:
--> 5-3 record @ home (last time: 2008 season)
--> +180 yards rushing for the 5th time this season (last time: 2002)
--> Lamar Miller, Mike Pouncey & Jonathan Martin are all major contributors and will be going forward
--> Wake has 15 sacks (his career high) - R. Jones stepped up HUGE this yr - yet another set of contributors going forward
--> Tannehill's progression - NOT regression. He's no Luck, Griffin or Wilson, but I'd argue he's not gifted with those offensive weapons and hasn't played 1/2 the games behind center they all have (incl college). Kaepernick isn't a rookie
--> If Reggie Bush gets 40 yds next wk, 3rd time an RB has back to back 1000 yd seasons for Miami (2002-2003 last time w/ Quitter Ricky)
Also, in the 5 games where we only scored 24 pts and WON, what does that say about the D, which now averages under 19 pts pr/gm - (5th in NFL).
Again - lots of $$$, lots of drafts picks and lots of hope & bright future in Miami. Proud to be a fan. Proud of this years progress. There are a few teams in the AFC that are on a trail of REGRESSION. Not us. Arrow up.

The New England/Miami game is flexed to 4:25...next Sunday's playoff drama regarding seeding shall be a fun watch. I'm hopeful we can spoil a little bit of it for NE.
Again, hats off to the Fins this year. Rebuilding year, a couple of plays away from winning 10 games thru 15 games this season, and stayed in the "playoff" race until Xmas weekend.
Excited for the draft...
Coach Philbin did a heck of a job with a whole new team, whole new scheme and the second youngest roster in the NFL.
I hope if Mike Sherman stays he gets a tad more creative offensively...some head scratchers this season out of his booth for sure!
What #1 WR do we try to pry away? Wallace? Fitzgerald? We've got the coin and draft picks to do it...
Excited for our future!

Yeah, I just found this out today. I'm going to next weeks game and I'm going to freeze my ASS off. I'm hoping for a good showing from them.
A ton of cap room and a ton of draft picks for next year. Let's say that I'm hopeful.I'll ride the wave where it takes me.0 -
What a successful season. Sad to see it end today, but hopeful for the start of a special regime in Miami!~
Today we play the Pats who will give us their best shot, as they are trying to lock up a #1 seed (with some help)...
Reggie needs 40 yds for 1000 on the season
Dansby needs 5 tackles for 100 solo on the season
and Wake needs 3.5 sacks to get the franchise record
This will be tuff 2day - gonna miss not having Bess - he always plays well vs Pats.
$49 million to play with in salary cap and 9 picks in the first 100 in the draft. Excited...would like to start the off season with a win vs the Pats and split w/ each of our AFC East foes...
Speaking of which, looks like MAJOR shakeup in about 10 hrs with both the Jets and Bills ("housecleaning" is the word I heard this am)...
Glad that is not us this offseason.

You've got to be kidding. How was this season successful? The Colts had a successful season with a rookie QB and coach. The Redskins had a successful season with a rookie QB. The Seahawks did as well. And the Bengals did last year. We did not. We had ANOTHER non-winning season. That's all we had. I hope we finish strong today as I know you do. But there was nothing successful about this season. I am not kidding & this is quite successful of a campaign. Rookie coach. All new coaching staff. Rookie qb. No receivers of # 1 quality. Porous secondary missing a # 1 corner. The WORLD picking us to win 3 games & be the worst team in football. With a win today, we finish in 2nd place in the division. We have our qb. We have the 3rd best OL in football. We have our best safety we've had in years. We excelled in moving from a 4-3 to 3-4 Defense. Wake, Dansby, Burnett, Soliai had their best yrs in Fin uniforms. The trades that were made have us drafting 9 times in the first 100 picks. We have more $$$ from salary cap moves then ever before. We have a direction. How is that unsuccessful to you?
Wait, let me guess - you wanted playoff victories and a Super Bowl- keep dreaming pal. Enjoy the arrow pointing up. Hasn't been this way in a long time.

We will be fine dude, again, tanny needs experience and these lumps - while they do nothing for our blood pressure, they will serve him and the Fins well for years to come. This team is not a SB team. This team is being crafted for runs in 2013 and beyond. Sux to admit, but it is what it is. Jeff ireland needs fired tomorrow. Philbin has got a squad of guys that most people wouldn't know if they bumped into them in the grocery store. We are what we are...a team building for the future. This team is good defensively, good on special teams and building on O. Better off than the Buff fans here and Chi fans here that think they're team is playing in a SB in Feb only to be jonseing tee times with the Fins...relax, buddy. We are in good shape. Fire Jeff Ireland and continue to build!

Yeah look I understand you've said that it's all about the future many times. But you can still win now while your prepare for the future...again...like the Colts have. A play here or play there, he could have been wildcard. Every single one of these last few seasons has something here or something there to be excited for next year about. But the next season always fails. Are you really THAT high on Tannehill? He's been okay at times and I guess it's good he got experience. But I (and probably you) thought it was good in 2009 when Henne got experience. I dunno, to call this a "successful" season is to celebrate mediocrity. It's about results. Loses like the ones to the Jets, Bills, and Colts this year were as typical as any Dolphin losses over under Sparano.
We have a good pass rush (pretty good D overall actually). We have a good enough OL. We have LOTS of cap room. That's all good stuff going forward. But quit saying "we have our QB" because you don't know that yet. He hasn't been a disaster and that's good...but he hasn't showed all that much potential either. I'll give him one thing though, he's not afraid out there like Checkdown Chad Henne. He'll try to make the tough throws. I just don't get how you can say that Tannehill IS the future. He may be. It's also possible he's not. Next year...with a better receiver corp....will be more telling of what he can be.
And hey, in the end, I hope I'm wrong and you're right. I hope Tannehill (or RT17 as some call him) becomes great and we can contend with him. I'm just nowhere near as sold as you are. Here's hoping to a good effort against NE today.PJFAN13 wrote:Your negativity is disgusting to me. I'm not being negative. But "successful season" and "good-enough rebuilding year" are two different things. That's all I'm saying. And no your optimism doesn't disgust me. But I can tell that you've probably been this hopelessly optimistic for almost 20 years now....always thinking that some of the good of this season can translate to success next season. Bummer, but ne playing so bad last wk, bye and seeding on line - doesn't surprise me. Joked with a buddy we'd lose 42-3...our OL got killed today, guys dropped passes and our D faced an aggressive Belicheck on multiple 4th downs...

Happy about the Wallace signing. I'm not about to do cartwheels over it because I was excited for Brandon Marshall and that didn't work. Sean Smith to the Chiefs for 3 years $18 million? We couldn't match that with a cap surplus? Even over paying for Wallace we should have been able to afford him. I thought he was good. He manhandled little guys and covered guys down the field just fine. He dropped a bunch of interceptions but at least he was making plays on the ball. And I thought trading away Vonte Davis implied that "this is our guy."
