Just finished watching "A Football Life: Don Shula"...what a great coach. They did a nice job releasing this doc before he dies. So cool to see Eddie Vedder in it also ( "from Presley to Pearl Jam") :o
They'll never be another Coach Shula...Belicheat needs 11 more years at 10 wins per season just to tie - unreal...

This week our beloved Phins will take on Luck and the Colts in the Shula Bowl...I like our chances at 2-0.
Best quote of the week from our rookie DE Jordan: "I never lost to Luck in college and I don't plan to on Sunday either"
    :D
    Let's Go Miami!!!

Week v. Falcons. Will be a tough game and it looks like Soliai may be out. Starks will get the start if that is the case. DL is the Phins deepest position. 2-0 not too shabby.

A chance to go 3-0 for the first time since 2002 for Miami today with a win vs. the Dirty Birds...
Covering TE's has been a tough assignment in recent years for Miami. If our D can get some pressure on Ryan and limit the damage in the passing game, I like our chances!

I'm so proud of this team right now. Today's game wasn't perfect. We had turnovers, gave up big plays in the running game. DIDN'T MATTER. The team kept it's poise. Made halftime adjustments. The offense was terrific on the last drive. 3-0 for the first time since I was a freshman in college. So happy right now.

    YES!!!
Tannehill showed resiliency - led the team despite getting whacked all afternoon.
Back to back wins vs Colts and Falcons feels...special, great and unreal, frankly. Saints, Ravens, Patriots and Bengals coming up...we have a special season brewing right now, this D is hurting but came up with big stops and the O made plays.
Football is fun when you have a good QB, and ours might just be the guy. Loving the progress of Tannehill.
Way to go Fins. Ledbetterman10 is a happy Fins fan today, wishing we were both in the stadium today, my friend!

These are the most telling QB performances: when you can play a bit erratically, as Tannehill did at times today, but still get your shit together at the end when it counts most, that's what you want out of your QB. Reminded me of Roethlisberger in his first two seasons; coming through in the 4th and not being afraid to make throws in big situations (3rd down, etc.) Great job. Defense needs to sew up the crossing routes and posts though or Brees could go off next Monday (which wouldn't be the worst thing in the world, he's my fantasy QB lol).

Great job by Gibson, Matthews and Clay too. I'm all for a "receiver-by-committee" approach. Keeps defenses guessing. We do need to stretch the field a little though. Even if it's just a token bomb to Wallace early on to keep them honest.

Miami has the Dolphins, the greatest football team.
We take the ball from goal to goal like no one's ever seen.
We're in the air; we're on the ground; we're always in control,
    And when you say Miami, you're talking Super Bowl;

'Cause we're the Miami Dolphins, Miami Dolphins,
    Miami Dolphins, number one!
Yes, we're the Miami Dolphins, Miami Dolphins,
    Miami Dolphins, number one!

I wouldn't go Super Bowl just yet...but this feels pretty freaking good.

Monday Night Football, the beer is cold, the stakes are high...Fins pull out a win tonight, on the road, vs that Offense, I like the chances of a little post season play...
Now, should we fall to the Saints, and we play well, I still like our chances :).
No mistakes, tight D in the redzone and a dose of Miller & Thomas, we can shut up Irvin, Berman and Keyshawn...
Go Fins. So excited as a fan to have a MNF tonight...big game!!!

Good spot for the Fish tonight. If they lose, oh well. Better teams than them have been killed by the Saints on Monday Night. But a win would easily be the biggest regular season win in the past 10 years other than the week 17 playoff clincher in 2008.

Wasn't too confident about this. The Fish are somewhat of "Not-Ready-For-Primetime Players" at this point. This wasn't the their type of game; a heavily hyped primetime game in a dome against Brees. Still the best September in a while though and I'm real excited for the upcoming matchups with Baltimore, Buffalo, and the SHOWDOWN with New England.

    Bummer :?
Picked a bad day to have a bad day...
Better blocking, some chemistry with Tannehill & Wallace...some better play calling from 3rd and pubic hair...
Saints are friggin' good and we made them look like the NFC version of the Broncos...
 I hate going to bed pissed!!!
Short week to fix some real issues before Baltimore comes to pay a visit, all pissed off from a beating from the Bills.
If we don't pass protect better, no way Tannehill makes it to game 16 upright.
    Damn!
3-1 is a solid start, hope is up as is the arrow, but troubled by some of the same weekly challenges and bad play calling
    Go Fins...

Talk radio was crazy today. Tannehill isn't a real QB...Philbin and Sherman cant coach....blah blah blah.
The Phins shot themselves in the foot too many times and a team like the Saints will make you pay for it. I am still very optimistic about the season. I still this is a playoff team. They are 3-1 and have a home game against the Ravens. A winnable game in my opinion. Most "experts" thought this team could have been 1-3 at this point. More work needs to be done for sure. But this is a way better team than last years.

Most fans thought this 4 game stretch here (Luck, Ryan, Brees & Flacco) would be rough sailing, especially with a banged up & young secondary. Fact of the matter is our linebacking corp, who are arguably a step quicker than in recent years, still struggles against big fast athletic tight ends. There still is a long way to go with chemistry between Wallace and Tannehill, and frankly they (Sherman & Philbin)need to use Wallace far more creatively then they have these first 4 games. ALL of this being said, we are 3-1...damn fine spot to be...GOT to win tomorrow if the "playoff" word wants to be tossed around - and ALOT can happen between tomorrow and New Years...still got Brady twice, Dalton and that Cincy D, Rivers, Big Ben and Cam to contend with. Have to tighten up in the back end, get Dimitri back and healthy. I really think we'll be fine, we are a better team then last year. This year has to end with a playoff game (or 3) - IMO - for it to be a successful campaign.
It starts tomorrow. Got to get after Flacco, keep the mistakes to a minimum, stop Rice = win tomorrow and a 4-1 going into the bye. 14 days off before Buffalo gives Solai & Wake & Patterson & Gibson all a chance to heal up, coaches some time to work on something other than Z slot plays for Wallace...
I like it, I love this team and I like our chances tomorrow. After the poor outing on Monday, what better time to get right back after it on our turf against the defending champs.
    LET'S GO FINS!!!

I know I'm in the minority, but I think its ridiculous for Wake to play today with a shaky knee...he is awesome and I love the guys heart - he's a difference maker for sure, but we have a bye coming up - and close to a month of not playing on it would seem far more beneficial to the rest of the season re: his health & our chances then playing today at less then 75% and risking some catastrophic season ending injury today.
    Next man up.

I think it will be a good time for Ireland to bring in some OL FA and work them out. They need help. Tannehill will not survive another 11 games. The kid is tough but he is getting killed.

Today is as big a game the Fins are going to play...division rival, 2 straight losses, 14 days to fix things up (playbook and injuries), @ NE next week. Must win, if there ever was one. Gotta beat the Bills, and solidly. Hope we can pound the rock and stop CJ and Freddie today, make the young QB try to beat us.
Days like today I miss DS (  )

If we lose today, the 3-0 start was a fluke and we're the same old Dolphins. I stress the word "IF"

    Back to life...back to reality.
If Mike Sherman and Tyson Clabo don't get their walking papers in the next 60 mins I'd be amazed.
Horrible gut wrenching loss to a practice squad QB and banged up RB's.
    What a joke.

I don't like our chances against New England next week at all. They don't lose two games in a row very often. And when they do, it sure as hell isn't to their AFC East whipping boys the Jets and the Dolphins.

I, for one, don't like going up there and playing a pissed off NE team, for sure. I thought 4-3 would be legit going into Halloween (losses to Indy, Atl & NO)...I didn't expect the loss yesterday, even when we were down 14-0 early.

Clabo is a goner today as the team signed McKinnie. I'm not thrilled with that move. At all. NE will be extremely tough to beat Sunday. But the way this season has gone, stranger things have happened I guess. The play-calling of Mike Sherman has been extremely puzzling to me. Wish the team would address that.

    Let's Go Fins...

    Today is the day.
Can Philbin and Sherman create a few plays to open up the passing game?
Can our D get into Brady often and early?
No Wilfork, Hernandez or Talib. Possibly no Amendola. No Mayo. A Brady who has been un-Brady like this season?
In a place we haven't won in over 4 years?
Bounce back game vs a rival who is also bouncing back from a bitter defeat at the hands of a rival last week?
Man, I'd love this game if my Fins weren't playing in it.
Put Nantz and Simms on this bad-boy, bust out the Nachos & Brewskis, and lets play some goddamn football!!!

Dolphins, please win this one today. Show the world why you are two late game sacks away from 5-1. Gear up (stay healthy) for a BIG Halloween matchup in 4 days vs Cincinnati!!!!!
    Ugh

Same old Dolphins. The same way I kept my guard up after the 3-0 start, I kept my guard up today after taking a 17-3 lead. Yeah we got screwed on three bullshit penalties that carried automatic first downs...but the offense, as good as it was in the 1st half, sucked so bad in the 2nd half. Very typical Dolphins/Patriots game actually. Dolphins did a lot of stuff well (running the ball, converting 3rd downs) and kept Brady in check...but still lost. Same old shit.
