Here's an idea- if every one of us who would like to see the PJ catalog re-released on I would suggested flooding Sony/Epic with requests to do so. I just did here:
Pine Knob, MI Lollapalooza 1992 / Soldier Field, Chicago 1995 / Savage Hall, Toledo 1996 / Palace, Detroit 1998 / Palace, Detroit 2000 / Pine Knob, MI 2003 / Showbox, Seattle 2004 / MSG, NYC 2008 / Key Arena I & II, Seattle 2009 / Eddie Vedder Beacon, NYC 2011 / Eddie Vedder Benaroya, Hall Seattle 2011 / Barclays, Brooklyn I &II 2013 / Wells Fargo, Philadelphia II 2013 / Wuhlheide, Berlin, Germany 2014 / Wells Fargo, Philadelphia 1 2016 / Madison Square Garden, NYC 2 2016 / Wrigley 2, Chicago 2016/ Fenway 1, Boston 2018/

At Sony's urging in a reply to my email asking them for it, I posted the topic of reissuing the catalog on their request website - you can go there and vote to support the request for the reissues.
They should definitely reissue these, but only after they've remastered them from the analog source. Vs and Vitalogy reissues don't sound great so if that's their plan for the rest of the album I'd rather they stop or scrap what they've done and start back from the beginning.
For those that prefer the sound of vinyl, well, these PJ albums aren't for you b/c they are sourced from the same files that are on your cd's. I've got all the studio albums on vinyl and the moments where the music really pops with that vinyl vibe is relatively rare. No Code-Riot Act sound pretty good, but nowhere near as good as they could/should. Most of the rest are kinda hit or miss. Backspacer is one of the worst sounding in my entire collection.
If you like the whole experience of listening to the vinyl, take whatever vinyl ritual you have and apply it to the playing of your cd's.
I paid the high prices for their records, but I'd gladly take a hit on the resale value for analog remasters.
So far, the reissues are very different from the originals. As you mention, Ten is a different colour, and also comes with the remastered version. Vs has a similar cover, but still very noticeably different - the photo of the sheep is a different angle. And Vitalogy is different in that the reissue is actually way nicer. The jacket is textured and of nicer quality than the original, and it's a 2-disc version (which I hate, and so never play it). I would imagine that any upcoming reissues would also be different than first pressings.
My original press of Vitalogy has the textured cover and as I understood the repress doesn't.
Don't take sound quality out of the equation. Those Vs and Vitalogy reissues are brickwalled to kingdom come, and the whole 2 disc thing, which someone mentioned that would enhance the sound. I'm pretty sure the only way to change the sound would be a change in the mastering process.

... Hmmm... I'll have to check when I get home, but I thought it was the other way around. My first pressing is smooth, the reissue is textured. Maybe I'm misremembering somehow... But the fact struck me as surprising when I was comparing them (as in, wtf, why is the reissue so much nicer than the original???), so I don't think so... But yeah, I will check again.

Whoops nm, you're right. I was thinking embossed.

this should be stressed. Their vinyl records should sound as good as possible. That's just not the case with Pearl Jam's current vinyl catalog. For a band that preaches vinyl their stuff should be easy to get and it should sound amazing.

Yes! Let's not just hope for vinyl, but good quality vinyl!
I'm willing to pay more for good quality but the hundreds of dollars it costs for what's out there on Ebay and the like is not a good value.

You're dead on about the value. If you look at the prices of the classic bands' vinyl, most of it is pretty reasonable. The ones that are really expensive and have really become collectors items are the ones that are generally classified as "the way this album should be heard" and that's just not he case with PJ's vinyl output. I'm glad to have their records and I'd probably pay what I paid again, but the fact is that PJ could put out some pretty mindblowing versions of these albums.

But the next part is where I feel the complaints. I had to save money each month to hunt down a Pearl Jam album on vinyl. I hunted down a sealed Yield for ($130) and a Ex- No Code for ($80). Next was Rearviewmirror on vinyl ($220) and Lost Dogs($165). I tracked down a Binaural for ($225), Self-titled for ($130) and Live on Two Legs for ($180) and finally a Riot Act for ($150).
this is exactly what i am talking about... it should NOT cost $1300 to buy 8 albums from the most popular band of the last 20 years
i know why this fan did it, because they are a fan and wants to listen to his favorite band on some wax... but that doesnt mean this should be the norm... and it definitely should not be acceptable to the fans...
And they will have to pay that amount again just to get Benaroya Hall...
Now see I get the Benaroya Hall one. It's not a studio album. That's a collectors item and they should be proud of that. If the band or mgmt or whoever wants to re-release this then that's thier call. I'm more in favor of the stuidos. Yes that includes live on two legs.

Dear People at Sony/Epic/Columbia/Legacy/Interscope/BMG/etcetera,
My name is Javier and I'm from Buenos Aires, Argentina. I'm writing because I want to know if you are involved in one way or another in the reissue of the remaining Pearl Jam albums, or the other way round. Either way, there are lots of Pearl Jam fans who would love to be able to purchase all the band's albums on vinyl for a fair price, me included, so if there is a slight possibility that you speed up the proccess of reissuing Pearl Jam albums from No Code onwards, you will make happy thousands of fans from all over the world, of all ages, both genders, with different political views and marital status, while you make some dough, and allow Pearl Jam to make some dough as well. If you aren't considering this, start now. If you are, put some more consideration. It won't harm anybody. Peace. Spin the black circle. Javis.
... I am not in the business of being liked anymore ...
Just a thought, but if PJ is still looking at doing the deluxe boxsets down the road would they sign off on re-releasing the vinyl right now?
I can only imagine the demand for future boxsets would drop through the floor if the vinyl was readily available already (look at the issues they had moving the vs/vitalogy sets). On the positive it could make them try and a little hard with the next boxset (whenever they feel like releasing them again).
