They learned that Ms. Broadwell and Mr. Petraeus had set up private Gmail accounts to use for their communications, which included explicit details of a sexual nature, according to U.S. officials. But because Mr. Petraeus used a pseudonym, agents doing the monitoring didn't immediately uncover that he was the one communicating with Ms. Broadwell.

During Ms. Broadwell's first interview in September, she admitted to the affair and turned over her computer, the officials said.
On her computer, investigators found classified documents, the U.S. officials said, a discovery that raised new concerns.
At Mr. Petraeus's interview in the week before the election, he also admitted the affair and said he hadn't provided the classified documents to Ms. Broadwell.

Has it been confirmed that he gave her the classified material? I thought there were initial reports that she had compromised his computer and accessed info herself? That was the distinction in my mind. Is that incorrect?___________________________________________

Either way... classified documents are not where they are supposed to be. That is a problem... especially when the documents are CIA related.
People are going to be in trouble for this.Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! Go Jayhawks!

Agreed. I do think there is a difference between him giving and her taking, but neither is acceptable and both are a big deal. This is much more important to me than who he was sleeping with.___________________________________________

what distinction? he gave her access to classified material
i don't know about you, but i don't want the head of the cia giving any chick that would suck his viagra-aided dick access to anything classified0 -
I don't think it is for certain that he gave her access, that is my point. Maybe he did and that is a HUGE crime if so. But if she cracked his laptop while he was in the shower that is much more on her in my mind.___________________________________________

Just to be clear, I am not trying to defend Petraeus. I just don't think we know as much as we think we know right now.___________________________________________

i know you're not and all this could come down to a bad soap opera at the highest level of the intelligence community
but as the head of said community, they should be held to a higher standard and not get involved in this like this...blackmail still exists0 -

i guess i did jump to conclusions afterall about the classified docs. i believe whatever pertraeus and broadwell say. silly me to think that he would have anything to do with all of the documents found in her home and data found on her computer.
im still wondering where broadwell got the idea that the benghazi attacks were either retaliation for or a attempt to rescue Libyan prisoners held by CIA?0 -

im still wondering where broadwell got the idea that the benghazi attacks were either retaliation for or a attempt to rescue Libyan prisoners held by CIA?No one is saying that something really rotten may not have gone down... what they're also saying is that there is not enough clear info to draw final conclusions, and that it's best to wait and see before doing so, because sometimes, such claims and accusations can turn out to be exaggerated or confused.

Which is why I am thankful this story broke after the election. I don't often have nice things to say about Eric Cantor but I give him a lot of credit for keeping quiet. Not sure many in either party would have done the same.___________________________________________

do you honestly think the truth would ever come to light? does it ever? all we are ever left to do is wipe away all the shit splatter pull bits and pieces of factual data together and draw logical conclusions.
most americans were never told the real reason why 911 happened, you think any truth will come out of this? all we will hear about is the sexual scandal (shit splatter), not what really matters.0 -
