I thought that flick was fannyfuckintastic too.

 Fran Kranz was brilliant in that movie...that guy just screams comedic relief!

Watched Zombieland last night...forgot how awesome that show was. Woody Harrelson rules, and Bill Murray's cameo is perfect. Also watched the beginning of Dawn of the Dead.
Guess Walking Dead S03E01 didn't give me the fix I needed.

has nothing to do with whomever that is, or maybe it does. who is he?

edit...director and producer of the movie....still, story was aweful

i would have much rather had a true horror movie, vs. a horror movie that turns into a comedy. :fp: [will shrug]

He did Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Dollhouse, Firefly, among other things. He has a very distinct style and people that are used to that are really the ones that appreciate this movie IMO. The funny quips at completely inappropriate times, the monsters, the fact that nothing was as it seems. Pure Joss Whedon.

We've all seen the true horror movie where a bunch of kids get killed in the woods. This was something totally unexpected...and if I can't predict what's gonna happen in a movie (like you can for pretty much every horror flick), then I'm sold!

  • I watched a movie called Extract because I was bored and needed some comedy cause I was in a bad mood last night. I think it came out around 2010. I wasnt expecting much, but all I have to say is Mila Kunis. Her role wasnt great in this movie, but I could watch her do anything. The movie was surprisingly OK and had a few funny parts.
Pick up my debut novel here on amazon: Jonny Bails Floatin (in paperback) (also available on Kindle for $2.99)

I caught a great Irish film last night, Grabbers. It's about some blood-sucking aliens attacking a small village, and the local police discover that their chances of survival greatly increase if they have a high blood-alcohol level. Overall it was well thought out and executed, with good writing and some hilarity sprinkled in at good times. It was perfectly paced and kept me interested throughout.

It was also refreshing to see an alien-attack film where the solution was not shoot-the-shit-out-of-the-creature like in most Hollywood flicks these days.

    I gave it a 9/10 on IMDB.

I just got home from a screening of [REC]³ Génesis, the third in a series of spanish zombie-infected films. Not exactly a sequel, this film told a story parallel to its predecessors, touching more on the genesis of the infection. If you haven't watched the original (or if you have watched the Americanized version, Quarantine), check out [Rec] and [Rec]2. This one uses a different storytelling technique making it a departure from the prior ones, but it still manages to tell a fun story of a zombie-crashed wedding. Overall it was a good Zombie flick for this time of year and I ranked it a solid 7/10 on IMDB.

    "Chained."

From IMDB: Bob, a cab-driving serial killer who stalks his prey on the city streets alongside his reluctant protégé Tim, who must make a life or death choice between following in Bob's footsteps or breaking free from his captor.
