  • Well you do know that if you use Google and search for something it is going to give you the most recent results? Right? Because that is generally what people want. Make sense?

Yes, I am aware of that.

MY point is that calling him "one of the biggest assholes in the country" is something that until yesterday... was rare. As your Google search proved.

You also said that you've had the same attitude about him all along. Can you maybe point us to a post where you said he was one of the biggest assholes in the country that you made before last night?

when people can not win a debate with their words and facts, they attack things like the manner in which the other guy presents his argument and makes his case.

Oh, I see you listen to MSNBC. Shocking.

So, I suppose that is why you made all those comments about GW huh?

The way you handle yourself is important. To think otherwise is exactly why we have the problem we have in Congress.

I'm just surprised that so many people are really happy with Biden and ok with his debate. Regardless of whether or not you think that he won on the point/issues, I would think that most people would see what a pompous asshole he is. But alas, if you wear the team jersey, you end up rooting for even the assholes on the team.
if you must know, i voted for biden in the 2008 primary because i thought he was the best candidate, so whatever man. the dems needed someone to be an "asshole" because of how romney completely disrespected the president.

We all make mistakes. I voted for Obama in that same primary. ;)

But Obama is 1 million times the person that Joe Biden is. If it was an election between the 2 of them, it'd be an easy choice for me.

And again, don't take away from this that I thought Paul Ryan came off as an intelligent gentleman. I didn't.

Well... maybe I'm using a different dictionary than you are.

"Idiot" is a person who is stupid.

"Asshole" is someone who is rude, obnoxious and treats people poorly.

For instance... I'm an asshole. I know that. If they don't love it, they can shove it, frankly I don't care.

But I'm not an idiot. You can call me all the names you want... it doesn't change that I'm actually pretty f-ing smart and resourceful and - the horror - a self-made successful business man, even if the title makes me wince my little hipster hippie heart out.

So maybe to you those words are synonymous and to be fair, the word "sexy" probably means two different things to us, as well.

Is it important? Well yeah... it kinda is.

Up until today, Republicans were saying that Joe Biden was known for being clueless and goofy and "gaffe prone." Today they're saying that "people have always known that Joe Biden is a very rude, temperamental old man with a short temper." Which is to say "he tore Paul Ryan to bits and smiled while he did it and that hurt our feelings."

Oh well. If I wasn't an asshole... maybe I'd give a shit. :geek:

Well, I think he is both. And not just today. I thought so in the 2008 primaries. But I can't copy and paste my conversations I had with people that were voting for him to prove it to you, so I guess we are at a standstill.

And you are right, you are not an idiot, though everyone has their moments.

the pics were taken in dec 2011 by time magazine...time decided yesterday to release them

but yeah, it made him look like a combo ac slater/screech
  • Actually, in Ryan's defense... he didn't want those pictures taken.

That was for a "hottest senator" photo spread or something for a magazine a year ago. He came in second so those pictures never got released. Until yesterday.

While I agree he's in great shape, I also agree that those pictures make him look like a total douchebag. Which... I mean, I'm sure I don't really look much different at the gym although you won't ever catch me posing for a camera while doing curls.

When discussing the wars, Biden flat out stated he had voted against them, and I did a double take. "Did he really just say that?"

98 senators authorized the use of force on Sept 14, 2001 - I mean who wasnt gonna at that point. And he voted for the Iraq one as well....

    Then I read today:

“By the way, they talk about this great recession like it fell out of the sky–like, ‘Oh my goodness, where did it come from?’” Biden said. “It came from this man voting to put two wars on a credit card, at the same time, put a prescription drug plan on the credit card, a trillion dollar tax cut for the very wealthy. I was there, I voted against them."

Ah! He voted against the drug plan and tax cuts! But boy that sounded like he was talking about the wars. He's good.
