Amazing show. Rats and U were nice surprises. I definitely agree about the crowd, TONS of energy and there were times when I swore we drowned out the band at full volume (can't wait to hear the boot). The guys, as usual, gave it their all and the crowd did too. I am never as sore, hoarse and beat tired as I am after a Pearl Jam concert, a sure sign that I got my money's worth! A couple of points:
1. Ed seemed pretty chatty - the beer rant was great, asking hackey-sackers to forgive him was funny (sorry bros and hos), and admonishing the crowd for not coming to the opening act will hopefully fill the seats tonight (although I mis-timed my trip and ended up hitting Philly at rush hour so I missed them, but wanted to be there). The whole band, in fact, seemed to be enjoying themselves - lots of energy and lots of smiles. It was fun to be a part of.
2. Black was very emotional - I tried to find a manly way to sing "do do do-do do do dooo..." but there really isn't one. You just gotta load your best falsetto and let it rip. No shame and it sounded incredible. I normally don't like Black as a sing-a-long, but you could definitely feel the connection between the band and the crowd during that one so now I'm a believer in it's sing-alongability.
3. The only negative for me was the venue. This was my second PJ show at Tweeter Center (or whatever it's called now) and I just don't like the fact that the crowd is spread so far back. It feels less intimate to me than if they had been at a different venue like Wachovia (Philly '05 just felt cozier to me). Not to mention that Camden just isn't equipped to handle tens of thousands of people flowing in and out of it (no major highway - Wahcovia has I-95). That being said, the crowd stepped up and made it intimate anyway, which is a credit to everyone there who rocked hard.
A great night. A great show. A great band. Thanks, 10c!I smile, but who am I kidding...0 -
This was my first show. We had 3rd row. I have of 240+ boots, Nothing compares to seeing them live. It was crazy. The opener brought tears to my eyes. Seeing the show lives lets you see the interaction amongst the band, how they play off each other. It also lets you see how the band plays off the crowd. This was one show I will never forget6-19-08 Camden I 8-17-08 EV DC II 10-27-09 Philly Night I row 5 10-28-09 Philly Night II row 6 Dead center,10-30-09 Philly Night III section 202, 10-31-09 Philly Night IV section 310, 10-21-13 Philly I PIT, 10-22-13 Philly II PIT

What an Awesome show! It is always good when Ed is chatty. The crowd had a vibe going all night that the band picked up on. Show opener was amazing. Sat with some great fan club members. The fan club tickets I picked up were in the 202 section near the rear of the section. I looked back and saw a sea of fans in the grass rocking out with a bright moon and the Philly skyline behind them. Great set list, scored a poster. Can't wait 'till Camden II.
***************Go see Ted Leo, they were great!!!!***********0 -
I wasn't there, but I'll comment that it's great that there were no songs from riot act, and the Philly Pholk got 3 YIELD songs plus a YIELD b-side! Great setlist.Do you remember Rock & Roll Radio?0

Great set, great show, great time.... it's weird how seeing so many shows you go in expecting things and sometimes just being there. But last night, the energy of the band, the crowd it was something special. And even those old favorites had a new fresh sound and feel to them. The whole show was just incredible and as I sit here at work after 5 hours of sleep, I can't express it into words. Ahhh but in 6 short hours, I'll be in the parking lot getting ready for another amazing experience.
And it was great seeing some old faces as well as some new. This is your notice that there is a problem with your signature. Please remove it.

5/23/2011- An utter embarrassment... ticketing failures too many to list.0 -
This show saved my sanity this week! (That's saying something considering the drive down there was so harrowing. We live less than 20 miles away; it really shouldn't be that much of a hassle.) I couldn't have wished for a better setlist and the crowd participation was inspiring. It was the first show I've ever brought my husband to, so I was really glad that everything about it was so special. Hard to Imagine ... my, my, my.
We were also glad we made it in time to catch Ted Leo ... great opening set!"Information is not knowledge.

One of the best shows ever at Camden, been to every show there since "98" easily top 3. Best poster since "98" can't wait until tonight great time, great people.0

Wow. This was 100% different experience than Camdem in '06. Whole vibe was much better, not to mention an amazing setlist and show. Anyone else agree that Light Years was amazing? Eddie's voice sounded incredible during it. Anyway, whole show was phenomenal. That was my first show in the '08 run and I am so happy I have 6 more. Something feels different this tour than the previous few years, and I'm loving it."You Can't be Neutral on a Moving Train"0

HAHA.
What a great show! And that second encore was amaaazing. Not disappointed, but I was surprised they didn't play Alive. Nonetheless, Crazy Mary into Porch was great. And the poster rocks as well!Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
Butthead: Huh huh.0 -
Great setlist, sounds like you guys had fun .Was this the first show of the tour without Alive and did anybody notice it wasnt played0

great show!
sorry if i missed this in an earlier post here but i LOVED how much eddie was into the night. he was very talkative and funny as mentioned in other posts, but he also was all over the stage and OFF the stage!! during crazy mary he went to the end of the stage (mike's side) sat down with the bottle of wine and was just moving along with the music waving to the fans and gave the security guard the bottle of wine to give to the fans and then got up grabbing people's hands and "talking" to them. then during one of the last songs (porch maybe??) he actually jumped off the stage had the security help him up and STOOD in the crowd on top of them as the crowd held him up!!! this was just AMAZING!! by the way the best part of that was when eddie wanted get "down" the security guard grabbed him by the pants and flung him back to the stage. i think eddie even was stunned how strong that guy was!! but what a great time night 2 here we come!!0
