ESPN is reporting that $200M - $250M in bets shifted based on the hail mary call. The spread was 3.5 favoring the Packers.Be Excellent To Each OtherParty On, Dudes!0

Can the replacement refs critique Lang's blocking for his QB? Why didn't the Packers DB just knock the ball out of bounds. What exactly is the NFL ruleon possession of the ball in the air? I thought there wasn't possession until the ball is down. It's not after the DB pulls the ball away, it's at the exact moment the ball is down. Anyone know if this is correct?Alright, alright, alright!

it depends on if you bet on the game ... i literally lost my fantasy football week on the last play ...
what i ultimately find confusing is how they could have reviewed it for 10 mins and come back with that call!?? ... please tell me the guy worked for the seahawks or is a fan of the seahawks or hates the packers ... something ... anything but that's how he saw it ... that would be the worst case scenario ...0 -

I highly doubt they will suspend a guy for criticizing officials. This whole thing has gotten so out of hand that players just don't care anymore. It's a complete fucking joke. Roger Goodell is officially the worst commissioner in all of sports.0 -

Not a bad idea.
They could probably even get the NHL to do make the calls right...since they won't be busy for a whileI have certain rules I live by ... My First Rule ... I don't believe anything the government tells me ... George Carlin

I hope more players stand up and send out tweets like this. The more pressure and attention that gets put on this issue the quicker it will get resolved. As it is now the NFL has no incentive or motivation to resolve this, people are still watching and going to games so they are still making money (that's how they see it anyway). I don't think they are considering the long term affects of turning their league into a complete embarrassment all to save a few bucks.1998 - Noblesville

The worst part of the call for the pack is, in todays NFL is you can't afford to have games given away, I guess fortunately for them the Lions gave away Sundays game (but Lions was by there own stupidity), the pack had this one stolen.I have certain rules I live by ... The NFL is going to have some motivation to resolve this now that a huge fuck-up like last night cost the Packers a game.0 -

You can't review possesion so if they called a td on the field it stands.Alright, alright, alright!

Temp job. Low pay. Chance to make some real money before going back to officiating D3 and Arena League games?

I would hope so too but with Goodell you never know. I'd be shocked if the real refs weren't back by week 5.1998 - Noblesville

Thats what I understood from the announcers...what I didn't understand is what were they reviewing? Were they just making sure the ball didn't hit the ground?I have certain rules I live by ... My First Rule ... I don't believe anything the government tells me ... George Carlin

Now you're going to a conspiracy level. The real refs could be point shaving as well. The NFL is greedy. The refs are greedy as well. The NFL can't completely give in because then these part time employees will be running the league.Alright, alright, alright!

Well those part-time employees are obviously a pretty vital part of this league.0 -

That was an awful call, even worse that it cost the Packers the game, but I don't think it's quite as bad as it's being made out to be. If possession isn't established til the db comes down, especially. He did have it tucked to his chest, but I think people are underestimating how much Tate had ahold of it. Jennings should've batted it down or done a better job at ripping it away.
It was bad, but I think ESPN hyped it up a ton to give them something to talk about for the rest of the week. I've seen worse so far this season and that call was a helluva lot less annoying than the several 3rd and long pass interferences I've seen or the obvious balls breaking the plains that they miss with or without reviews.0
