Is talking to a chair better than talking to yourself?

Sad to see Clint like that ....it was like seeing Ali at the point in his career when he took on Larry Holmes

I only heard it, didn't watch it.....Clint Eastwood is a Republican...yikes! He's STILL the man though and from what I heard he's sort of funny while i found out he was having a bad hair day.

Will Munny: Who's the fellow owns this shithole?
    [pause]
Will Munny: You, fat man. Speak up.
Skinny Dubois: Uh, I... I own this establishment. I bought the place from Greeley for a thousand dollars.
[Will levels the shotgun, and speaks to someone standing behind Skinny]
Will Munny: You better clear outta there.
    Man: Yes, sir.
    [scampers out of the way]
Little Bill Daggett: Just hold it right there. Hold it...!
[Will shoots Skinny. Screaming, the women scatter upstairs]
Little Bill Daggett: Well, sir, you are a cowardly son of a bitch! You just shot an unarmed man!
Will Munny: Well, he should have armed himself if he's going to decorate his saloon with my friend.

    Now that's a Speech!

His speech and the reaction to it have made me uncomfortable... I don't like seeing Clint Eastwood making a fool out of himself at all! I love him! Like, love love him, even though he's 300 years old. But wtf was he thinking??? He wasn't even being witty or anything. It was just weird and embarrassing. Made him look a little bit senile, which I'm pretty sure he's not. Too bad, Clint. :(

Harsh crowd here! Looking forward to how the DNC is received next week :P

Yeah I don't think it was as bad as some people are making it out to be. Just kind of awkward is all.
As a big fan of his, I think it worked to deprive him of some dignity and respectability ... and I don't handle watching old men deprive themselves of dignity at all. It makes me feel guilty because I feel sorry them for some reason. I think that's a flaw on my part, but I can't help it. I guess I'm making a deal of it because I REALLY love Clint Eastwood. Oh well. He should go back to making movies and leave the politics to others.

    Poor Clint...
I grew up in Carmel, CA when he was the Mayor
Had a chance to play a few holes of golf with him @ Quail Lodge
He and my father worked on the AT &T Jr golf program on the Monterey Peninsula
BIG fan of his movies and his jazz career
Last night was horrific...Democrat, Republican, Tea Bagger, Indy - doesn't matter...
The guy was ill prepared, not funny, embarrassed not only himself, but Mitt and the President...
    WTF???
    Extremely odd...
My grandpa was 78, we didn't let him near the remote control -
Very sad. I feel really awful for Clint. Romney can't be happy about that performance at all.
How can anyone defend that nonsense? What cracks me up is this --> all of the Republican big wigs & cheerleaders (Rush Limbaugh, Dennis Miller, Sid Rosenberg, Sean Hannity) who were live commenting for Paul Ryan, Rubio, Mitt - where are all the comments about Clint? Where's the defense of this American institution? Can't find them because YOU CAN'T DEFEND what he did...
"Can't have a lawyer be President???" Mitt went to Harvard Law - 30 Presidents have been lawyers...
    Ridiculous.
Took 11 minutes for me to completely change my opinion of someone I respected so highly.
    Bummer and sad.
PS - Mitt has no shot at the Presidency btw. This could be a blowout. I'm independent, btw and WANT to be informed, swayed and convinced by someone. Mitt & party (and their belief in magical bloomers) didn't accomplish that.

'You Did Great!' Terrified Personal Assistant Tells Clint Eastwood

TAMPA, FL—Following Clint Eastwood’s surprise speech Thursday evening at the Republican National Convention, in which he used catchphrases from his old movies and addressed an empty chair as though Barack Obama were sitting in it, absolutely petrified personal assistant Tim Weddle nervously informed the famed actor and movie director that he “did great!” “Wow, that was amazing! Seriously, you were really, really great—everyone loved it so much,” a trembling Weddle carefully told Eastwood moments after the 82-year-old film legend finished his speech and walked slowly off the stage. “And you were so funny, too! Oh my God, so funny. The chair thing went over really well. You should have heard the laughter and applause from out here, Clint. Honestly, Clint. Honestly. And you looked so young, too!” At press time, a perspiring Weddle was frantically trying to keep Eastwood as far away as possible from any televisions, computers, or newspapers.

I didn't see his speech last night but just watch it now and to be honest, i felt bad for him.

I don't know why he was there and why they would put him in prime time.
