Wow, it worth every penny.
I'm from Mexico City and now that I'm a working man and I can afford going to the US once in a while I decided to attend this show, and I cannot be less happy.
Yeah, it was a bit disappointing to see people with better tickets than ours not having the great time they were supposed to have, but what the hell, I had my great time and stop caring about it as the concert went by.
The set list was great too, very energetic,, they played almost the entire avocado except for my favorite songs out of it -Parachutes, Come Back and Marker in the Sand-, but you can't have it all, can you?
There was kinda messy to get into the arena and get the 10c tickets, and the posters were sold out really really fast and I couldn't get one, but anyway, it was a great great show, thanks to the band and to the real PJ fans of NJ and NY, you rock!!!0 -
I wrapped up my tour with Stops in Albany, Hartford, Both Camden and East Rutherford shows. These were shows. 26-31 for me, dating back to New Orleans in 95.
Overt the course of the last 3 weeks, I heard 16 news songs, I had never heard in person, Now obvioulsy, and handful of the 16 unheard songs came from the new Album, but I heard; Leash, Garden, Hard to Imagine, Im Open, and Alone for the very first times.
This tour felt so much better than the Canada shows I saw the year before. Its hard to put my finger on it, but Just different.
I want to thank all the good people I met along the way. All the great moments inside the arenas, outside the arenas.
I want to thnak the Olson Twins for being so nice to me and my buddy.
Thank you Pearl Jam for being the best Rock N Roll band ever.Too many young males beleive that manhood is defined by the ability to injure a man, rather than helping one.
There are two kinds of women in this world....one that will give you strength....the other will take it away.....0 -

moreover, you cannot trust eddie literally when he says boston 1 was louder than SA, you know it's not true
but this is MHO, let's wait for the boots to have a more objective comparison
where were your seats for each of these shows?? my only thought is that location plays a big part
on saturday i only heard the crowd during alive and last kiss... i thought the crowd was awful... and now reading others posts i don't see how i missed it so badly
for boston i was section 22 row 1 night 1 and section 13 row 1 night 2
for camden i was section 104 row S both nights
and i was impressed all 4 nights... but NJ felt like hartford againDon't Believe Everything You Think0 -

But, If noone buys the posters from ebay, than the people who paid a ton of money for 20 at a time who have dollar signs floating around in there head will be stuck wiping there ass with them if noone buys them, Or possibly trading or selling them cheaper to get rid of them. Just a thought. The PJ family on here, Although its shrinking has stuck together in the past for changes. It just all depends on your will power not to need one and rewarding the jerks who are gouging on ebay..
So haveing said that. Go ahead and attack me those who feel it necessary..
I agree with your point. people need to take a stand and let the posters sit out there. My wife and I got in the arena during My Morning Jacket's set and the posters were long gone.
I have no idea what the poster price was at the arena, but there are "entrepreneurs" on Ebay trying to get $100 to $150 for them. If everyone lets them sit there, in a month they'll be $25 or so I bet. Have patience, someone sitting with 10 or 20 posters will start dropping the price when they see that no one is rushing out to buy their wares immediately.0 -

actually my seats were quite similar in boston and nj
loge 21 (stone's side, row 5) in boston and section 110 (mike's) and 120 (stone's) in nj
the crowd was VERY LOUD in nj2, in hiding was one of the high points
wait for the boot and you'll see
camden seats were almost identical, section 101 rows V (night 1) and T (night 2)Make records, not war...0 -
taetum19 wrote:probably the worst venue i've ever seen a show at, to repeat what someone else said here, the staff, the sound, all the dirty effing NJ Devils banners hanging in front of my face. poopey.
I've always said the Pearl Jam is to music what the Devils are to hockey, it seems VERY relational to me.
And to our 6/3 poster maker too! I was F'N THRILLED to get a poster with devils horns and in red and black.
I'm very proud of those banners.
Oh BTW, I think a lot of the CAA staff are great. When they take your tickets, they're "enjoy the show" and when they check them at the section it's "have a good evening" and said nicely not in a throwaway or snide manner. I appreciate that.
Yeah, it's not the best arena in the world with all the amenities. But I still love it and I loved both CAA shows, the band is just en fuego!!!!!!!!!!!0 -
vedderwood wrote:There was a big sign/bed sheet sign behind the stage that said something like "stop fuckin around and play leash"...it said more at the top of the bed sheet and more at the bottom of the bed sheet, but that's all i could make out from my section (109)!
We were in 5th row and saw the sign, which was kind of offensive. It said:
"HEY YOU HANDJOBS. STOP FUCKIN AROUND AND PLAY LEASH OR WE'LL WALK OUT"
Kind of bizarre, maybe I just didnt get the whole handjob reference to the band. Is there some sort of signifigance that I missed or were these guys just morons?0 -

I don't know maybe it was their bid for attention in the wake of "pussies no more" refence. Weird thing is they played Leash at the show right before in the same arena. Pretty lame.0 -

guess we'll chalk this one up to my seats being in the only place in the arena where you couldn't hear the crowd
which kind of makes sense... since no one was "behind" me... i couldn't hear them yell and scream
oh well... still better than a kick in the nutsDon't Believe Everything You Think0 -
taetum19 wrote:i had people chanting for yellow ledbetter near me and i nearly lost it. arent people FED UP with hearing them close with the same effing song over and over and over and over and over......ad nauseum!
Some people don't get to go to a lot shows every tour so maybe they wanted to hear it - so what?
I took my 11 year old to both shows at CAA and he was really hoping to hear "Yellow Ledbetter" one of the two nights. He pumped his fist when Mike started playing it.
If you have such a problem with it, cut back on the amount of shows you attend.0 -

just morons.... they probably were up all night trying to think up the perfect sign
it's amazing how many clowns go to these shows... one big happy jamily it definitely isn't... too many weird fucking uncles and cousins in the mixDon't Believe Everything You Think0 -

What's up man?
My buddies and I were losing it when we saw the mask!!! (was that a wrestling mask or what?)
We were on the floor and I believe you were in the 100's and were waving your crutch in the air all night---great stuff, man!
What a show, what a band!0 -
What a nice finale to the first leg. So lucky to be there.
Highlights for me - SOLAT, shared with my daughter again, Severed Hand. Rats, In Hiding (I'd posted before the show that I was hoping to hear these(Rats and In Hiding), among others!)
It was really funny when the power went out on Animal, or whatever caused that because it started out with the intro, then 1,2,3,4,5 against one, five five five five five against one, and the crowd started singing and all, then it was apparent that something wasn't QUITE right, but we kept singing and then it was kind of like 'what happened' and it just ground to a halt.
My first time to hear Hard to Imagine and In Hiding (maybe a first for a few other people too!).
I really, really loved hearing Ed sing No Surrender, as I got the The River the first day it came out, biking about 3 miles as a kid to the record store to pick that up the day it came out, so I know that one real well. Ed does SUCH a good job with Bruce songs....
Porch jam was awesome - one of the longer ones that I've experienced, and different sounding.
With Mike on Ed's shoulders, I'm glad that Mike didn't get dropped, and Ed didn't break his neck.
Don't Gimme No Lip - I think they have to be in a good mood to bring that out, and its so fun to hear.
Leash again! I'm not going to get tired of that one for a long, long time - it is such a good vibe in the arena when they play that and everyone's singing and going nuts including me. I think most of us have someone they'd like to scream 'drop the leash... get outta my fucking face' at, no?
After hearing the story about Alive in Storytellers (3rd hand, I wasn't at it), Alive felt even more significant when you're there seeing it performed...
I can't wait for Pittsburgh (will most likely be my last show on this tour).
Thank you always for the great show!R.i.p. Rigoberto Alpizar.

Damn girl...it's been ages I see you in this board.lol
Oh man I forgot to put that on my review....That was a big hightlight for me. Eddie was staring at Mike when he suddenly decided to pick him up on his shoulders and spin him around. hahahahah....like I said, the love was felt that night.0 -
Manofthepresenttense wrote:i was there, it was my 19th show , fifth this tour, ranked 4th out of the five shows i saw, only hartford was worse, sat in section 104 , in the second to last row, i thought the crowd was nothing special, they had their moments, last kiss , alive and ledbetter, other than that just ok.
bostons crowds blew this crowd away, if that sound problem happened in boston , the roof probably would have blown off the place.
I thought the sound was good, could actually hear ed clearly on most of the songs because no one in my area was singing.
Most annoying things of the night were a couple in front of us sitting down and locking lips the whole time, and the moron next me who asked me what every song was, during black he tapped me on the shoulder and asked if the song was called EVERYTHING! i just nodded yes, he then proceeded to ask me if every song was a new one including crazy mary, asked if last kiss was off their fourth album!!!!!!!!!!! WTF!
to sum it up , had a great time tailgating , myself and boston lou were the first people to arrive and set-up in lot 22 around 1:00, consumed many beers and met some cool people. had a great laugh watching these mooks playing pitch and catch with an umpire, batter with no bat, that was some great free comedy.
The show was good , still never been to a bad one in 19, but how some people can say it rivals msg 1 is a question i have. if msg 1 was that shows equal then you people need to travel to see PJ , because either one of the boston shows blew that one away.
Maybe my expectations were just too high with it being the last show on the leg. I feel if ed respected the area he would never open with same 3 three songs two shows in a row, especially in the same area.
still had a great time , hoping to maybe shoot out to the gorge in july.. The energy was high. When i looked around it appeared that everysection was flippin out as well. It certainly sounded that way from my section as well.
anyway, you should make it out for the gorge shows. It is like no other place and will prove to be a special couple of days. If you make it out, I'll buy you a beer. Cheers0 -
Can I ask an honest question? Why are the PJ fans from Boston so protective over their shows? Seems like everyone had a great time at ER 2 except them. It just appears as if they are trying to pour cold water on what was a great show b/c they feel that for some reason the Boston shows have to be the best on the east coast leg. I wasn't at Boston 2 so I can't compare and it certainly appeared to be a great show, but why try to downplay other shows that seem to have been likewise excellent?
Then again, neither Brian Cashman nor Omar Minaya were invitied on stage for ER 2. Maybe that would've taken the show to another level.Buffalo '96, Merriweather '98, VFC (D.C.) That is because of the 'Boston Fan Complex'. They don't understand that PJ shows are not sporting events and we are all on the same team for this one. Not to mention the inferiority complex they have to NY.9/26/96 Randall's Island, 8/29/98 Camden NJ, 8/25/00 Jones Beach, 9/2/00 Camden NJ, 4/28/03 Spectrum, 7/8/03 MSG, 10/1/05 Atlantic City, 6/1/06 Meadowlands, 6/3/06 Meadowlands, 6/24/08 MSG, 6/25/08 MSG, 10/30/09 Spectrum, 10/18/10 Newark, 10/21/10 MSG

PERSONALLY..my only complaint of the night was that PJ played ALL three of my personal "please don't play" list.
Even Flow, Alive & Ledbetter (i think i've heard those 3 songs at EVERY show..and on almost ever boot that i have!)
i know alot of people like those 3..but i've had ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
can't wait to get the boot from this show though!hartford 96

No Surrender is in Born in the U.S.A. though... and the will to show I will always be better than before.0 -
This was our fourth show in 7 days(yes I know many of you have done more!!!! Sorry, I've got to work and take care of a hubby, kids, though they are old, and dogs!) Anyway, not sure if it was the best out of Camden I and II, and DC, but it was very memorable. Met some real cool people. Given lots of free beer and food at the tailgate. You people are awesome!!!!!!!! Found a guy at the concessions who knew as soon as I came each time what beer i wanted! And he kept on reminding me to stock up before 9:30!! LOL
Loved it when they played Rats and Stone singing Don't Gimme No Lip! My daughter personally was dying to hear Rats and hear Stone sing and she finally got her wish.
Thought Severed Hand was a weird opener(love the song, just not as a show opener), but loved Porch as the closer for the first set. Hail, Hail, Love Boat Captain, Lukin, Garden, In Hiding, Hard to Imagine. I could go on and on. Thougbht they could have added a few others, but all in all another great show. My daughter has turned me into a true PJ fan(kids are great!!!), and I tunred her onto Soundgarden, which I thought was funny. I doubt if we can get to any other shows, but if they come anywhere back on the East Coast after being overseas, we are SOOOO there.
Thank you PJ for making the past week a very memorable one. Great music, met some great people, and had a lot of special times with my kid!0
