    I've never personally eaten there

Yet I'll comment on their food! ;)
Unfortunately they serve it on my campus so I'm surrounded by people eating at all the time. If something repels me by smell I'm not stupid enough to eat it

Am I the only one that likes their sandwiches/nuggets/chicken strips? :? I haven't had a dry sandwich there. Anyway, any Chick Fil A I have always seen has been crowded during lunch/dinner...I'm talking about drive through lines wrapping around the store and going into the street and no seating room inside. I drove by yesterday and the line was going into the highway. I don't think they are losing much business over this.
    ...
I guess it all depends. To me, the only way to be able to enjoy the sandwich would be to smother it at the Mayonaise station with the all you can drink sauces. The local El Pollo Loco serves up a great chicken meal.
Like I remember when the White Castles first appeared out here and there were people who raved about how great ther are. Great, if you think Spam Burgers are great, I suppose. It is really tough to sell a White Castle in a city that has Tommy Burgers and In and Out Burgers peppering the landscape.
It is a no-brainer for me because the nearest Chik-a-Fil is next to an In And Out Burger... with the latter having more tham ample parking. If I feel like having chicken for lunch... I'll hit the local El Pollo Loco or the Panda Express for some Ka-POW Chicken instead.

If you see a place called 'Hole Mole' (Holy Mole-ee) around SoCal... try the chicken, asada, fish or shrimp tacos. Cheap, fresh and mighty good.

Best remedy... if you don't like the guy because of his opinion... don't buy what he is selling. Simple. Fixed.

I think Chick Fil A will be just fine.

I just came back from a small food court located in the basement of a downtown Dallas office building. The court is usually pretty empty, especially at 11 when I go to lunch. Today, the line for Chick Fil A was crazy! There were at least 200 people in line! I like their food, but can't imagine waiting in line that long. People were having fun and taking pictures. When I left at noon, there were even more people lining up! Insane!

Isn't today, 'Chik-a-Fil Appreciation Day'? I thought I heard a newslet on the radio this morning about it.

Nearly 600,000 supporters signed up to celebrate Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day today, which former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee created to counter a boycott launched by gay marriage activists last week after Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy said he was "guilty as charged" for not supporting gay marriage.

"The goal is simple," Huckabee wrote on the Facebook page for the event. "Let's affirm a business that operates on Christian principles and whose executives are willing to take a stand for the Godly values we espouse by simply showing up and eating at Chick Fil-A on Wednesday, August 1."

Courtney Clem, 22, strolled over to the Chick-fil-A in Crystal City, Va., to pick up lunch for her entire office and show her support. Clem said she wanted to eat at Chick-fil-A today not only because she supports traditional marriage but because she supports the First Amendment.

Factory chicken and the First Amendment. Atta girl Clem!

maybe she should look up what the first amendment is ... ;)

It applies in this case where you have government officials talking about making it hard to Chick-fil-a to get approval for new stores.

    Correct.
If local government want to restrict a business based upon the opinion of it's owner... that's wrong. Even if the owner was an Nazi Sympathizing member of NAMBLA who supports Al Qaeda... he STILL has the right to open a legal business.
The consumer get to decide whether or not to shop there.

does anyone think that because Chick fil A owner guy said I don't support gay marriage that anyone who was on the fence suddenly agreed? honestly?

Number one reason for me not to go to a restaurant is shitty food. Politics would remain at the bottom, because I simply don't care and realize that franchise owners are the ones who will suffer because of something totally out of their control...

But again, who do we think was waiting to hear from this guy that gay marriage wasn't ok before they made their decision?

Some people did just go by what that guy said. I've read online comments (on facebook and news forums) where people say they love the food, but won't go there anymore due to Cathy's comments. This is ridiculous to me..we're just eating at a restaurant not voting him into public office. :fp:

For those that won't go there due to the company's donations, I 100 percent understand that, but I think (and I could be wrong) that this is a small minority of the people upset. I mean, the company has been donating to those causes for a while. The uproar only started after Cathy's comments stating he supported traditional marriage. I don't agree with Cathy but whatever...I wouldn't vote for him but I'll still eat at his business.

as I see it, folks can do as they please....if they want to avoid Chick-fila based on the owners comments...fine...

if they want to support Chick-fila that's fine too...

not sure why folks are put off by folks wanting to avoid an establishment based on whatever reason they feel...

I agree with your post, I was more referring to the idea that he is influencing anyone. That those on the fence have been some how persuaded to be against gay marriage by this joker.

It is sad, because he won't be affected much by a boycott...but chick fil as on campus may no longer exist, and in heavily liberal areas....I think the people who work there probably need the income from those stores to keep their jobs...Never eaten at one probably won't but that is because I don't like fast food all that much and when I am craving it is something I have already eaten like a burrito bol from chipotle

Question: Does the subject of opinion matter to you?
Example, If the guy said he completely understands the motives behind the attacks of September 11, 2001 and that America deserved to be attacked... or that he believes the Jews invented the holocaust story in order to gain sympathy... or that God Hates Dead American Soldiers...
Would you still support his business?
After all, those would only be his opinions and have nothing to do with chicken sandwiches. It is your choice to buy or not.
