i am going to need to know the set list before i decide whether to go or not (sarcasm)
PJ is playing a fest in Philly on a holiday weekend. Its fucking great.
The rest is just white noise.
Personally, I will wait for the full line up and figure out a way to get in on the day PJ is playing. Probably should have just bought the $99 tickets when I had the chance but oh well. I dont need to know anything except the day PJ is playing.
To any who already got their tickets (general admission at $99 or $135 or whatever) and did "print your own":
Do they have "seat numbers" on them, like most GA tickets do, as place-holders/counters, and if so, what's the format? My brother-in-law (in another state) ordered our tickets yesterday, and third hand (through his wife, through my wife) I'm hearing they had seat numbers that appear to be two in one row, two right behind them. I need to be able to break it to them gently that we're all going to be stuck on a flat lawn/street/park, so their expectations are tempered prior to the day and nobody gets put in a bad mood and feels betrayed as soon as we get there (in our group, I'm the concert expert), but as I can't lay eyes on the tickets, I'd love to be assured that I know what I'm talking about.

This from TM might help:
Question
My tickets say "General Admission." What does that mean?
Answer
General Admission refers to seating or standing areas that are not assigned or reserved, and are occupied on a first-come, first-served basis. When purchasing tickets for a General Admission event, you may be quoted section, row, and seat numbers, however these are for inventory purposes only and do not reflect any actual seating location.
Please ensure you carefully read the Event Information and Ticket Information screens when purchasing tickets: Any information on whether your tickets are General Admission will be posted on one or both of these screens. Seating arrangements vary for each event, and there may or may not be seats of any kind available. Ticketmaster cannot guarantee seating for any event that is sold as General Admission.
I know all that already (I'm a concert veteran). My question is less general, and still stands for anyone who has these actual tickets already printed (via print-at-home)--what is the format of these placeholder seat numbers? I want to be able to definitively tell them that (for example, since I don't know the actual numbers) where it says "Q-23, Q-24, R-23, R-24" on the tickets, it's meaningless. If there's one thing I've learned over the years, from vacation accomodation quality* to expected setlists**, as long as people have some idea what they're getting into and expectations aren't too high, you don't have disappointment and tempers running high the weekend of the event.
* College Spring Break: half our group thought our friend had booked us into the resort's multi-room condos, but we actually had kitchenette sweets in the main hotel building. The first night of the trip was spent seething and waiting for his plane to arrive so they could yell at him. After that, things calmed down.
** Saw Prince at a small theater in 2002; I was the only one braced for the fact that with such a small (and fan-club-member-heavy, casual fan-light) audience, the setlist would be obscure and/or focused on the so-so jazz-influenced album he was pushing that month, so everybody else in the group I went with considers it the worst concert they've ever been to, while I think, "Hey, I've seen Prince live! Cool."
Yes it'll be hot, yes it'll be crowded, yes it will be hard to get up close... Fact still remains it's a good time in my own city... I can take the regional in and out, sleep in my own bed and see a few bands I love! I'm really looking forward to this, I can never pass up a party in my city

Got my tix...they sent me 4, 2 for 9/1 and 2 for 9/2....does that mean we can sell the pair for the day PJ is not playing and essentially only have a one day pass?
If you're taking the train, El or subway, probably 15th street City Hall, both stop there. I don't imagine buses will be in use because of the festival.
And if you're taking the train in town from anywhere, I would get off at Suburban Station, which will leave you at 16th and the Parkway essentially.
But do be sure to check the regional rail schedules out of the city at the end of the concert. Philly usually doesn't run those rails past 11, real stupid but maybe they will for the festival.
You can always check http://www.septa.org , they have a pretty good trip planner there that's fairly easy to navigate.
And please, anyone feel free to pm me for any travel questions or concerns or good spots for food & beer.

If they are separate TM tix, you can sell them separately. I have done it for a festival and know others who have too.

And I just want to point out that United Way takes SOOOOO much off the top :x. Better than no charity at all, but they stink!
Seriously? Some days I think none of you will ever be happy with anything the band does short of playing a free show in everyone's backyard to solely benefit YOU. Let's let off the whole sell out thing for a bit, especially when there's a charity involved. Come on people are we that self centered around here? :?
