PEARL JAM TO PLAY MADE IN AMERICA FESTIVAL

Just dropped a crap ton on vip for this festival upon reading the news that there are no more shows being announced. This will be our first trip to Philly and our first vip experience. Here's hoping that its worth it, but judging from the lineup I can't help but be a little skeptical. I spent about two hours listening to some of these acts and it left me hoping they announce some more bands that I at least have heard of.
I must be obsessed. PJ now has me paying $350 a ticket and donating to a campaign of some random senator over 2,000 miles away. I suppose its time to seek help :?I'm still alive..0 -

Rittenhouse is the best but they're all essentially on top of each other and I thought all the same, however it depends on what the hotel / realtor is defining as each. I would recommend not going south of Walnut Street, nor west of 22nd or east of 15th.0 -

Nonexistent ha. Your best bet is to park right outside downtown and take the train or subway in. It will be cheaper and way less of a headache.'08- Camden 1-2 '09- Chicago 2; Spectrum 1-4

Can you tell me how the PATCO is? I booked a hotel in NJ and plan on taking that in.0 -

I have never taken it before, so i can't tell you how it is, but that is what I will be taking in and out of the city.
I don't expect it to be any different than any other subway/train. I will be parking at the Woodcrest Station as that is the one right off of Route 295, and going all the way to the end of the line, 15-16th st & Locust, then walking the final ~20 blocks.2003: 7/14 NJ ... 2006: 6/1 NJ, 6/3 NJ ... 2007: 8/5 IL ... 2008: 6/24 NY, 6/25 NY, 8/7 EV NJ ... 2009: 10/27 PA, 10/28 PA, 10/30 PA, 10/31 PA

I was thinking the same thing. Or do I just drive back and forth? 1 hour more or less. Traffic will be a nightmare though. Might be worth it to book a room for the night.peace,

SEPTA might be the quickest and easiest. I usually don't mind driving but not sure how it will be that weekend. Live 8 was a pain.

If anyone needs any info, tips, etc on anything at all, you're more than welcome to PM me.
This is awesome. Moving into my new place in the city the same weekend. Ab-so-lute-ly perfect.0 -
Just wondering if the downtown Sheraton was a good choice to book as far as close proximity to the venue? Hoping just a quick walk."If you want a friend, feed any animal." - JA

As long as it's the one on 17th Street, great spot, plenty of resturants and good bars around, 17th runs right into the Parkway as well. So you're looking at 3-4 blocks to the Parkway and then another 3-4 to the stage on 22nd I suppose. It's good walking distance to me.0 -

I love downtown Philly, we need more PJ fans down here. I live in Old City and we have this bar that plays PJ on Monday nights, but nobody is ever there, but that's a lot of bars on Monday I suppose.0 -
