More on the trade ....
From CSN Philly:
Grossman is a stay-at-home guy, obviously, given he has no goals (five assists) in 52 games this season with Dallas.
He will help on special teams. Grossman averaged the third highest minutes on Dallas' special teams -- 2:13 on the power play and 2:12 on the penalty kill. The Flyers could use a little boost on both right now, especially the PK units.
Grossman was one of several defensemen the Flyers were eying. The other was Montreal's Hal Gill, who is older and has a Stanley Cup ring.
Technically, this is a rental, as Grossman is an unrestricted free agent at the end of the year, but unless he really disappoints, you have to think the Flyers will consider re-signing him. He's currently making $1.65 million. My drinking team has a hockey problem

I think this trade is a possible fill-in for Carle for next year. Either Carle is traded this year, or the Flyers let him walk after the season. No way are they going to pay him the money he will command.
This Bryzgalov slide continues to look worse and worse. The guy is just in a complete mental meltdown right now. He prob has zero faith in the D, and they prob have zero faith in him. Just ugly. And so you see, I have come to doubt

Yeah..I was never a huge Carle fan. That dude fans or flubs the puck on so many shots from the point.
Someone has to wear #31 to break the goalie curse

This is a rebuilding period. No need for stupid trades. I would like to see Carle dealt for some picks/ or prospects. And so you see, I have come to doubt
