I've never been to Vegas. Joey and I have decided to plan a getaway at the end of the month and we actually thought about going...then realized that neither of us like to gamble and figured it would be more exciting to getaway somewhere we may actually enjoy more. We picked California. One day when we make it to Vegas, I'll contribute to this thread"I am myself...like you, somehow."0

The first time I went, I was walking into the MGM and a couple of people walked up to me and said they had cheap tickets for the clubs...I was totally bamboozled (not to mention drunk from the flight in). $60 and a sobering hour later I realize 2 things - a)I hate clubs b)it was a total scam.

I feel like a total fucking degenerate when I go and play at the local card clubs. But it is a great amount of fun and my buddy and I might be the only guys speaking English at a table. We are certain they are talking shit on us & that makes it even more fun. Barely a bit of strategy with the game so it is indeed a good one to go and get housed while playing. Being the bank is so much fun....
Have you ever played Pai Gow at the Imperial Palace...that's Asian central on the strip! I LOVE that casino so much to play at!0 -

That's the single worst part of Vegas. There's always someone with an angle there. :x0 -

You want to talk degenerate? Try playing pai gow at the El Cortez on Fremont (oldest casino there...and it smells like it)...they've got $5 mins! While we were there, one of the workers just got off his shift and played a hand at $500. He pushed. Played again. Won. That is pretty f'd up. Guy works all day and turns around and puts $500 down. As much as I love to gamble I am very thankful it doesn't hold me by the balls as it does so many others. I learned long ago to understand on my way in what my budget was and to stick to it. Sometimes I win, most times I lose but I always have fun.The love he receives is the love that is saved0 -

i was at a red hot chili peppers concert years ago, wearing kind of a quasi s&m punk skirt w/metal loops on it, standing at the bar at a bar in the Hard Rock and these 2 guys come up to me, one tall the other short w/dark hair and the one w/dark hair kept staring and acting kind of creepy and then the tall one talked to me and we DID not hit it off, he made up some story being from Alaska, and the moment I said I was from nyc he kind of immediately assumed i was full of myself or some other weird interpretation,,,,anyway. it turned out to be Hall and Oates, and NO I was not interested in going to a party with them. period.Into the Wild Things0

somewhere Rye and Cav are crying right now and they don't know why...The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.
