    I miss seeing my doggies in the snow

    last year at this time big Atl snow storm 4 inches :lol: had the city shut down for
    almost a week and us shut ins for four days.

    It was really fun!

    Hey All
    Sorry long time no talk/post... Hope everyone and their loverly dogs are doing great!

    I am currently away from home working on Mount Washington on Vancouver Island so I don't get to see my baby much... But I went home on Sunday and she looked pretty weak, as if she had aged another 2 years since I'd last seen her at Christmas... My uncle (who's been looking after her) said she's been constipated for some time (I had mentioned this before around here... but we thought it was nothing). I finally convinced my mom its not just her "getting old" and she needs to have a more extensive check done at the vet (I took her before for a quick check up but he said it was good).

    Turns out she has a mass on her anal cavity... poor thing, that's why she hasn't been able to go properly. My mom still shrugs it off as her "getting old" so my uncle feels caught in the middle of it. Regardless, that's my baby... so we're going behind her back and going ahead with some more tests at the vet today to see if its a tumor...

    I'll keep you all posted!

    Get well soon Sammi!!

    Bubba was at the vets today. She has a small ulcer on her eye. The vet reckons she'll be OK. Ointment twice a day and back to the vet Monday to make sure all is well.

    She was a very good girl at the vet. She got all sorts of crap put in her eye and had it poked and prodded and not one peep or growl at all. She peed a little when she first went in though :oops:

    My uncle phoned me tonight to inform me that it is a mass on the outside of her colon, and that she has osteoarthritis in her hips. He said we need to go downtown for an MRI... So we're goign to see how much it would cost and what else everything entails and go from there. Because she is 11 my family is on the fence about going ahead with some sort of treatment or just letting it be. Obviously I can't let go that easily, so if i can find the money somewhere I am going to try to do what I can :cry:

    This is such a tough place to be. :(

    In a perfect world, money wouldn't play a part in getting the care our fur-kids need. But who am I kidding?

    Lots of things to consider but I would hope that you have a vet you are comfortable with and who explains things thoroughly. I've taken my dog to the same vet for many years and one of the things that helps me most when I have to make a treatment decision is when he tells me "If this were my dog, this is what I'd do." Because I know he really cares about my dogs.

    Get all the information you can. Sometimes our fears magnify things and it may not even be as bad as you think. I know you will make the decision for what's best for Sammi, because you love her so much.
