HiFi, brother, I'm shocked to read of ur robbery. Karma is a bitch. Hopefully they get theirs. Thanx for the reply on my warp issue. Can't wait to do it. My Christmas gifts were, 1) PJ20 ost on vinyl, 2) Jazzy Jeff/Fresh Prince HE'S THE DJ, IM THE RAPPER LP. Ex condition, 3) Bill Cosby Tells The Kids About Drugs, 1971. Still in shrink wrap. Ex condition, and 4) The Roots THINGS FALL APART LP. It's in the postal system still. Can't wait.
I was able to have 2 good buddies over a couple nights ago and we sat in my music sanctuary and drank and listened to records. It was what the Dr. ordered. The hangover the day after was NOT, unfortunately.
Happy New Year to all!
Hussa
P.S. I STOLE MY MOMS WHEELCHAIR.
I LOVE that Jazzy Jeff/Fresh Prince album....We listen to it in the shop ALL THE TIME!I will scream my lungs out till it fills this room.0 -

I am so happy you are ok! Did you get my PM asking if you had any other interests? I was curious as to what besides records gets your blood a boiling! I am not sure why they moved us but I am glad they did, in a way. I hope people still view because it is nice to hear stories and share ideas and thoughts about our hobby (aka addiction). Also, I am in Illinois right now getting ready to head to the Blackhawks game tonight. I stopped in a local record store and asked if he had any PJ albums. Politely, he said no but he could get some cool boots from a distributor. He said he will email me a list and once he does I will provide to you in case you may be interested. Thanks! Go Hawks tonight...0 -
I bet one of my employees $500.00 he would not eat a Walt Disney Jack and Jill 45. I am now $500.00 poorer.
I'm not sure who is more F'd up, me or him.....Shall we vote?

I would say him by far....could you imagine that thing coming out? Crapping razor blades. I once ate a dollar for twenty dollars. I just considered myself $21 richer....0 -

Reminds me of a LONG time ago ('94?) when I saw a full band signed (including Avery) copy Jane's Addiction S\T (xxx) vinyl at a local shop for $180.
I asked my buddy if it was "worth it". He said, "I mean, it's not WORTH it ... but if it's worth it to YOU, then it IS worth it."
Lol.If I was to smile and I held out my hand
If I opened it now would you not understand?0 -
It was a sight to behold. I allowed him to break it 20X, NO MORE, and he managed to get those pieces pretty SMALL. He also got to chew, so that helped his digestive system....Its just hard wax, NO BIG DEAL. Well, I guess it was worth it to both of us :!:I will scream my lungs out till it fills this room.0

I have a bunch in stock, Under the Table...., etc.... Not too hardI will scream my lungs out till it fills this room.0 -
Hussa was right. It's a dark blue pressing. I guess it's most likely a repress or EU boot. High quality, though, and it sounds good.
HF, I'll GLADLY pay you $15 for a black wax of Time Out of Mind. Even moreso, I will HAPPILY pay you $100 for a vinyl pressing of Under the Table and Dreaming.7/27/1992: Lollapalooza, St. Louis; 7/11/1995: Soldier Field, Chicago

I don't use this forum to sell records, but if you can find my shop I will give you the DMB album for free. I'm buddhist, I don't need or want your $100.00, nor is it worth that. I have it priced at $12.95....Good LuckI will scream my lungs out till it fills this room.0

PM me your address and I will take the rest of the week off and fly there tomorrow.
Why? Because RCA has never issued Under the Table and Dreaming on vinyl. And they've only pressed two records. Their first vinyl pressing, Before These Crowded Streets, has been OOP since '98 and regularly sells for $300. Not to question your credentials, but as a record store owner you should know this. At the very least, snap a photo of this vinyl (Under the Table and Dreaming) to prove to me that I'm not crazy.
You should also be aware of the fact that the CBS pressing of Time Out of Mind also regularly sells for upwards of $200 since it has also been OOP since '97.7/27/1992: Lollapalooza, St. Louis; 7/11/1995: Soldier Field, Chicago

You never asked whether they were boots/imports/both or not, and there have been SEVERAL pressings of boot Under The Table...all italian from 1994-1998....I understand what you or CBS or the general public thinks things value at, but at my shop, we run on the Buddhist philosophy of giving and compassion.
So you are saying that The Kinks Everybody's in Show Biz LP which has been OOP since 1975 is worth $200.00 also??? No, its worth $20.00, and I sell it for $9.95NM. Less Green Disease for you, sir.Value the record from Goldmine BEFORE firing off e-mails. If its not in there, does NOT mean it does NOT exist. For example, Elvis Presley "A Mess of Blues/The Girl of my Best Friend" 45 was NEVER released in the US, only in Germany, ON RCA, not a boot. It values VERY high for that reason, but is that what we sell it at? (Dream up your own answer). Also, Japan produces TONS of legit LPs that are not released in the US.(Example, Frank Sinatra's My Way on Red Wax) Remember, there is a continent (Europe) full of industrious people that create fantastic stuff. I take a trip to Tibet yearly, and stop off in a few cities (mainly Italy) to pick up hard to find vinyl. I don't need to justify myself by "snapping a pic" to enlighten you or make myself feel better. I am holding the copy of DMB Under the Table... in my hand RIGHT NOW, and we shall play it in your honor this morning. Clear?

Good morning all! Hi-Fi is the man when it comes to anything vinyl and I would not question his expertise. I am new to this hobby but, I trust him more than any book or website I have looked through. His kindness and willingness to answer our questions and give advice can't be overlooked. Everybody has their own opinion and these are mine. Hi-Fi turn up the DMB vinyl a bit for me!0
-
How am I going to value it in Goldmine if it's not listed? If it was a foreign pressing, it's never been listed ANYWHERE on ANY DMB discography page (there are dozens and they are thorough). If it's a bootleg, why are you selling it? You said you didn't sell bootlegs. Again, in 15 years of collecting, I've NEVER seen an Italian pressing or ANY pressing of that record show up on eBay, discogs, or gemm.com. And I've looked regularly for FIFTEEN YEARS. So without a picture, without a PM telling me where your store is (which I said I'd fly to to buy this record) and without any other further information (a link of ANY KIND proving that this record exists), I'm going to say that you're full of shit. If you really are a Buddhist, show your compassion by placating me by simply snapping a picture of you holding it. Seriously. If not that, PM me your store's address and I will be there tomorrow to buy it. If you REALLY want to impress me, ship it to my house. PM me for my address.
Otherwise, I call Duck Tales. Sorry.7/27/1992: Lollapalooza, St. Louis; 7/11/1995: Soldier Field, Chicago

Hi-Fi, my opinion would be to NOT send him anything. It is what it is. What is this world if we can't take people by their word anymore. If he says it exists, I am sure it does.0
-
How about this as an option. If it does exist, set it up as an eBay auction and donate the $3,000 or $4,000 that you'd earn from it to charity! That way we both win. Post the URL of the auction when it's ready. Or send it to me and I'll do it. Or again, post a picture or send me a link indicating its real-ness.
You'd said to a previous poster that DMB vinyl was "not too hard" to find, and yet you have someone on this forum that has over 3,000 records in his personal collection and has collected vinyl for over 15 years telling you that I've NEVER SEEN A COPY. ANYWHERE! THAT MEANS IT'S HARD TO FIND!!!!!!!! YOU HAD TO BUY THEM IN ITALY!!!! THAT'S HARD TO FIND!!!! Right speech, my man. Right speech. You're not being a very good Buddhist.7/27/1992: Lollapalooza, St. Louis; 7/11/1995: Soldier Field, Chicago

Cmalisze is right, it's not worth my time. You clearly have some ax to grind, so go find another place to grind it. Boots exist of almost EVERY reputable album. There is a difference between Boot and Counterfeit....but again, not worth my time. This thread was great, everyone got problems solved, some got free records, and then you came along. I have owned a Vinyl shop for 12 years, and I don't need to justify my accomplishments/inventory/or reputation to anyone. Try google, it took me 2 minutes and 54 seconds to find a pic. Either leave our peaceful, helpful thread alone, or be kind to others.I will scream my lungs out till it fills this room.0
