Great thread. I'm just getting back into my vinyl collection. I have a Yamaha Direct Drive Turntable YP 801 BL that I purchased new in about 1979. Seem to be missing the dust cover as it was placed in one of those stereo stands in mid 80's then I went to CD's, about 1987 and the table and my vinyl collection have been in storage ever since. There's a Shure cartridge mounted on it with the price tag still on it. I've got Hot Rocks too but the likelyhood of it being anything special seems remote but I'll check.

LOOK HARD AT THE DEAD WAX (RUN OFF) OF SIDE 4 FOR THE SCRIP "SHLLEY AND THE DATE 11/18/71. If you find it, PM me and I will tell you how to authenticate it. Unfortunately, 99.9999% are not test pressings. Also, look here http://www.beatzenith.com/the_rolling_s ... labels.htm for more info. Just scroll down and you will see a photo of the SHLLEY script. Later, Viva La Vinyl, Hi-Fi

I also have an addiction...:lol::lol: Just kidding, thats why i'm Buddhist!

My Christmas gifts were, 1) PJ20 ost on vinyl, 2) Jazzy Jeff/Fresh Prince HE'S THE DJ, IM THE RAPPER LP. Ex condition, 3) Bill Cosby Tells The Kids About Drugs, 1971. Still in shrink wrap. Haven't decided what my next vinyl gift to myself will be. Any suggestions? Also, when do they announce what will be released on RSD? Thanks...

While driving around town today with no cause I decided to stop in the local goodwill store to see what (if any) new vinyl was in stock. An hour and an undisclosed amount of money later here is what I came out of the store with:

    The Eagles "The Long Run"
    The Rolling Stones "Tattoo You"
The Police "Outlandos d' Amour" and "Zenyatta Mondatta"
ELP " "Welcome Back My Friends to the Show that Never Ends" 3LP
    Johnny Cash "At San Quentin"
The Steve Miller Band "Book of Dreams" and "Fly Like an Eagle"
The Beatles "Rock n Roll Music" shiny cover
Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young "4 Way Street"
Bob Dylan "New Morning" "Blood on the Tracks" "Greatest Hits Volumes 1 & 2" and "Dylan"
The Who "Who's Next" and ""Who are You"
    Led Zeppelin "Zoso"
Jimi Hendrix "The Cry of Love"
    Black Sabbath "Black Sabbath"

I also got a 45 of PJ "Out of My Mind" "Not for You" in Mint with sleeve

If any of these albums are must haves for anyone and they have some trade let me know. Otherwise I will spin myself!

I believe I've been bamboozled. Has Bob Dylan's Time Out of Mind ever been (officially) released on Moss Green Colored Wax? I have a feeling it's a European bootleg pressing (not dissimilar to my Tool Aenima). HELP!!! And thank you.

First off, don't call me Mr. Secondly, is the matrix (The number on the label/spine C2 68558)? If so, it is a 1998 pressing, and never issued on green wax (BOOT). Still worth money though. The black is worth $15.00US, and I can't sell or deal in boots, although I have a HUGE Beatles boot collection. Ow, and I like the word Bamboozled (Good use of the english language), although it is worth what it means to you in your soul, money is just paper. Can't take it with you. Sorry, you ask a Buddhist a question, you get a Buddhist answer :mrgreen:

The demand is kinda low, because the market is flooded with the "typical" Cash LPs. Some rare ones fly off the shelf, PM me a list of Album/Matrix, and I will value them and get back to you on the best way to get er done.... :D Later Skater, Hi-Fi
I will scream my lungs out till it fills this room.
  • I did not start off the new year well. I caught what was nearly my death (Fluid in lungs, etc....) and caught a 3 day bit in the hospital ("NO COMPUTERS ALLOWED, stated Nurse Ratchet). Then the annual post holidays return/complaint fest had to be dealt with, and as you know, my employees are a bit "eccentric" about complaints....Hmmmmm I wonder where they learned that  So, Hi-Fi is back....I see we moved in my absence, seems nice and private, like an island... but no worries. Questions have been answered, if I missed you, just remind me and I will help you out. Off to the FLEA market. Later Skaters, VIVA LA VINYL, B......wait, Hi-Fi

Ow, and I will generally buy Cash albums, depending on condition. PM me the info My Sneezy. Off to the FLEA market then the shop to keep the employees from turning violent towards the customers. Here is how today will go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0EJy4zVeCKI Later, Hi-Fi

I am so happy you are ok! Did you get my PM asking if you had any other interests? I was curious as to what besides records gets your blood a boiling! I am not sure why they moved us but I am glad they did, in a way. I hope people still view because it is nice to hear stories and share ideas and thoughts about our hobby (aka addiction). Also, I am in Illinois right now getting ready to head to the Blackhawks game tonight. I stopped in a local record store and asked if he had any PJ albums. Politely, he said no but he could get some cool boots from a distributor. He said he will email me a list and once he does I will provide to you in case you may be interested. Thanks! Go Hawks tonight...
  • I bet one of my employees $500.00 he would not eat a Walt Disney Jack and Jill 45. I am now $500.00 poorer. :o I'm not sure who is more F'd up, me or him.....Shall we vote?

I would say him by far....could you imagine that thing coming out? Crapping razor blades. I once ate a dollar for twenty dollars. I just considered myself $21 richer....:lol:

Reminds me of a LONG time ago ('94?) when I saw a full band signed (including Avery) copy Jane's Addiction S\T (xxx) vinyl at a local shop for $180.

I asked my buddy if it was "worth it". He said, "I mean, it's not WORTH it ... but if it's worth it to YOU, then it IS worth it."

    Lol.
If I was to smile and I held out my hand
If I opened it now would you not understand?
  • It was a sight to behold. I allowed him to break it 20X, NO MORE, and he managed to get those pieces pretty SMALL. He also got to chew, so that helped his digestive system....Its just hard wax, NO BIG DEAL. Well, I guess it was worth it to both of us :!:
