I walked out of there at 5am walking to get coffee at the Piggly Wiggly ... The security guard at the gate was like WTF?
And as I sang Country Road by James Taylor on my hike to get coffee, Mr. James Taylor Construction came to find me.0 -

I think what suprised them most was how peaceful the crowd was, everyone was there to have a good time with friends from around the world. Rude, obnoxious, want-to-fight drunk people not welcomed.

Right, everyone was awesomely mellow.
If anything security was militant. I pissed them off standing on my seat. Im 5'2 no one was behind me back off. I turned to one dude and said watch see that prick over there ... is just begging to bitch at me. Two seconds later he was bitchin at me. We both laughed.0 -

Definitely the best weekend of 2011 for me. What an amazing experience that I'll never forget! The crazy thing is that I knew how amazing it would be beforehand - and usually when I have high expectations for something I'm disappointed. But not PJ20, it FAR exceeded my expectations. From the music, to the people, to the whole vibe. If I had a time machine I'd probably relive that weekend over and over again!WI '98, WI '99 (EV), WI '00, Chgo '00, MO '00, Champaign '03, Chgo '03, WI '03, IN '03, MI '04, Chgo '06:N1 & 2, WI '06, Chgo '07, Chgo '08 (EV:N1), Chgo '09:N1 & 2, Chgo '11 (EV:N1), WI '11:N1 & 2, Philly '12, Wrigley '13, Pitt '13, Buff '13, Detroit '14, MKE '14, Wrigley '16: N1 & N2, Seattle '18 N2, Wrigley '18: N1 & N2, Fenway '18 N1, STL '22, St Paul '23 N2, Chgo '23: N1 & N2, Wrigley '24 N1 & 20

Next time, in addition to meeting more people, taking more pictures and investing in a good microphone I will also be making a digital video diary of sorts. There are so many things I saw and only remember when I talk to others who were there. I vaguely a remember a hoola-hoop girl (all PJ shows starts with a bottle of chapagne/sparkling wine- tradition since 2000) however I do clearly remember:
Making a path for the motorcycle caravan coming through the parking lot on day 2
People planking - first time I had seen it live
The assistance dog at the end of our section and the little hop-skip-dance I did everytime I passed him so I wouldn't step on him
Jumping up and down and singing while waiting for my friend outside the ladies room by section 101 and having about 10 random people either run from their seats or walking by high-five me
How the crowd looked during Release from the 10C lawn area - goosebumps
This guy who absolutley rocked on his air guitar all behind me on night 2
having a few teary eyed moments and not even having to look around to know I wasn't alone
so yeah, you can easily say Alpine will forever be one of the best experiences0 -
