part of the problem with a show like this is the audience expects, or least hopes, for the whole hour to be like the last 2 minutes of the last night's show. it needs its downpoints and plot/character development for the high points to reach their peak.
everyone was saying "abandon the damn girl already", but this was all leading up to Rick having to blow her brains out, when he was the one who wanted to save her all along. excellent climax to a good half season.
Rick has cemented his place as the leader here, by doing what he did. Shane is second banana again.
I'm just wondering when it will come out that Rick knows about Lori and Shane. How has he not blown a gasket over that yet, especially with Shane always challenging his ideas?Gimli 1993

Whatever happens, ain't nothing good gonna happen on that farm.
Least we don't have to worry about them looking for Sophia anymore (that was badass... I actually didn't see that coming)

great episode last night. SOPHIA! I was surprised when i saw her, i really thought they would eventually find her but not as a walker. Anyway, what the hell am I supposed to watch until February? I don't like this mid-season finale b.s.0

It was still the most dramatic scene from the series so far, none the less..0 -

basketball :?:
i guess i should've been more specific. I mean on sundays. Hell on Wheels is okay. I had higher expectations, its moving kinda slow but hopefully it gets better. I really don't like common in it. Basketball can fill the void though, at least college, i don't really care about the NBA until the playoffs0 -

I was about to say Football. But then I saw you live in the Twin Cities, and realized you probably shouldn't."See a broad to get dat booty yak 'em, leg 'er down, a smack 'em yak 'em!"0 -

Take it easy with the spoilers. Not everyone on this thread has read the novels...0 -

I haven't read them either, I've just seen stuff about it in Walking Dead discussions. I don't think it's really a spoiler, they've talked about it on Talking Dead. It's only a spoiler if you thought the rest of the series would take place on Herschel's farm and they would never go anywhere else. Besides, anything said about the comic books might not be a spoiler as they go off them quite a bit. Sophia for instance is still alive (and not a zombie) long after the events on the farm."See a broad to get dat booty yak 'em, leg 'er down, a smack 'em yak 'em!"0 -
It's probably much cheaper for them to film in one location like the farm, than to have to shut down major highways. But I've been fascinated when they show those glimpses of the rest of the world, like when Shane and Andrea were in the suburban neighborhood, and when the group was out on the highway.
It must be such a blast working for that show and setting up those surroundings.15 years of sharks 06/30/08 (MA), 05/17/10 (Boston), 09/03/11 (Alpine Valley), 09/04/11 (Alpine Valley), 09/30/12 (Missoula), 07/19/13 (Wrigley), 10/15/13 (Worcester), 10/16/13 (Worcester), 10/25/13 (Hartford), 12/4/13 (Vancouver), 12/6/13 (Seattle), 6/26/14 (Berlin), 6/28/14 (Stockholm), 10/16/14 (Detroit)0 -

If it lasts long enough, I'd like to see it take a Mad Max route where the surviving humans battle for resources and the zombies are just another everyday obsticle. I think the story could go anywhere.
Maybe as the disease progresses the zombies could become smarter?0 -
in 28 Days Later, the big obstacle was surviving until the zombies starved. Now, I didn't think in Walking Dead that the walkers needed to eat, but then Maggie was feeding the Barn Zombies livestock. What was the purpose of that? Was it because Hershel didn't know if his Zombie family would survive without their daily bread?Gimli 1993

In Walking Dead the zombies don't need to eat to survive. As for the livestock thing, Herschel and his people were under the impression they were sick people, and I guess they thought they probably still needed to eat."See a broad to get dat booty yak 'em, leg 'er down, a smack 'em yak 'em!"0 -

if the barn was so secure, why did they keep getting out? the kid said "it happened again"
and when they did exscape, why didn't they sniff out the people vs. getting stuck in the bog?81 is now off the air0 -

I don't think they escaped from the barn. I think the "it" that happened was a couple of zombies getting stuck in the creek."See a broad to get dat booty yak 'em, leg 'er down, a smack 'em yak 'em!"0 -
