easy to answer
Yet another show I have seen get a lot of flack that I thought was awesome. The band was REALLY tight and in high spirits, and the sound was pretty good to boot.Bright eyed kid: "Wow Typo Man, you're the best!"
Typo Man: "Thanks kidz, but remembir, stay in skool!"0 -
BinFrog wrote:Maybe Hartford 98. I got pepper sprayed when I was in my seat because the wind carried it down. The sound was a bit muffled. Our sears were far off in the corner. And to top it off it was a really short show. I had a blast at it like I do at all shows, but it just wasn't up to par with other shows I have seen.
Hahaha, I think if you can get pepper sprayed at a show and still have a blast then you're a bigger fan than I am!

I was in Cincy too, and thought it was pretty damn good. I thought the setlist was great.....Rival, Sleight of Hand, The Kids Are Alright solo by Ed, Soldier of Love, Untitled.......i really enjoyed that show, but am probably biased because I was present.
Really hard to name a worst show.....Albany 03 may of been not as up to par as others, but still had some great moments
didn't they play a show in Alabama, maybe in 03, that only like 21-22 songs, and really cold and wet?? I believe it's where they premiered One Note, and then left the stage0 -
Of the shows I've been to I would say that Chicago Night 1 this year was the worst. Probably, because I have been to some great shows. But it had kind of a greatest hits feel to it. I got the boot and it is better than I remember the show being, so maybe I was just drunk or something. But, Chicago Night 2 was buy far the best show I've seen in years. It was just wierd. I was driving home after Night 1 and was like, fuck maybe I'll just stay home tomorrow. My whole life looked like a picture of a sunny day.
Summerfest 95, 06 Alpine 92, 98, 00, 03 Chicago 95, 98, 00, 03, 06, 07 Grand Rapids 04, St. John's 05 Milwaukee 080 -
anyways back to BOISE.
that is by far my favourite corduroy solo. its so cool sounding. very unique.
the worst show ive seen is the VANCOUVER 03 show. its tough to choose but thats the one. oh well.
i have all 72 2000 boots

I guess the "worst" shows I've attended which are still better than most, but If I had to pick I'd say Toronto 2005 was my least favorite show (setlist, bono, hungover band). Toronto 1 2006 and that's only because the sound was terrible, I couldn't hear a thing, but the bootleg is great and Hartford 2006. After Toronto 2 and Albany that show was average at best.0

I think of all the shows i've been to or heard, Heshey, PA in 03 was the "worst". It wasn't so much Pearl Jam (although Ed did get quite pissed at the girl lifting her shirt) but the crowd. Thank god the guy in front of me was celebrating his birthday and passing his gifts around. i just remember crying at the end because i was sad that was my last show for awhile and because i didn't feel the energy i had hoped to feel.Protecting the democracy that we ask our sons and daughters to die for is our responsibility and our trust. I've been to 10 shows and the only one that I was actually dissapointed was at Little Rock, summer of 03. Very short show, horrible crowd, mediocre setlist (probably because of the crowd). But hey, still better than most shows, and that was the worst.0

My least favorite was probably camden night 1 in 03, though that probably had more to do with the crappy experiences surrounding the show than the show itself. My traveling crew were just worn ragged by this point in the tour.Kerry/Edwards 04!
I really need to update this sig.0 -
For me it was Hershey 03.0

Possibly Augusta, Maine in 1996 when No Code came out at the height of the ticketmaster fiasco. That's the only show that I remember almost nothing about. Either that or Boston II, 2003 where I was harrassed by a swarm of frat boys. I'm not sure either of these "bad" shows where the fault of the band though. As for the show that I didn't think the band played the best at, I'd have to say Mountain View, CA 2003.0

My first post, and hopefully you understand my point. I saw them In toledo at the VFC tour when Neil and Peter came out and played. I then drove to Grand Rapids the next night to see them. The band played an awesome setlist, but it couldnt hang with the concert the night before. The whole time I was thinking, I can't believe I saw Neil Young play Cortez, Watchtower, Act of Love, and finish with RIFTW. The 6 hour drive home to work at 8am didnt help either.
Thoughts?0 -
I only have 4 boots, and I think they are all pretty much equal.Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V0

I'm sorry, but even Pearl Jam can't be that amazing every night. You are one lucky dude to see them play with Neil.Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V0 -
I agree, i was especially blessed at Toledo and again in Grand Rapids. I think it was too much for me to take in for only my 4th and 5th shows. I guess that means I'm not worthy.0

The Toledo/Grand Rapids shows were two of the best I've ever been too. I was blown away in Toledo by Neil, but PJ blew me away in GR. They were really intense that night. I'm just grateful that I went to both.0 -

Ahhhhhh...that was a GREAT show...in fact, my favorite. I have the bootleg, I'd even be willing to make you a copy to jog your memory of this show's greatness!
WORST show for me: Hartford 1996 Pepper spray, riot police... all of my merch stolen. Baaaaaaad memories for me there.I burst, out
I'm transformed!0 -
the show I remember having the worst time at was Toronto 2005, but the boot sounds better, so its not the worst...I think St. John's 2 was the worst I've been to...between the lackluster crowd and the setlist being cut short, it was a piss-off of a night03: Toronto
04: Toledo
05: Kitchener, London, Hamilton, Toronto, Quebec City, St. John's 1 & 2
06: Toronto 1 & 2, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati
07: London, Dusseldorf
08: Tampa0 -
So, is this the show where I had the worst time, or is this the worst concert as far as energy from the band, sound etc. Those are two different animals. Worst sound was Moore Theatre 95 because it's just a bad sounding place. I'm sure the setlist was fine. It's such a small place I expected the sound to be cleaner. There is no such thing as leftover pizza. There is now pizza and later pizza. - anonymous
The risk I took was calculated, but man, am I bad at math - The Mincing Mockingbird0 -
I have to agree with an earlier guy that Camden 1 '03 was the worst of the shows. Like everyone is saying though, I'd take the worst PJ show over anything else in a heartbeat! This show was the worst fanclub view I have ever had and I had just been to many in a row which probably had me tired out....I have been very lucky and experienced Storytellers, Borgata 1 and 2, Tibetan Freedom, etc, etc- some memorable shows (coming up on 40 total) and am realizing this and taking nothing for granted.
With all this said: Camden '03 with no hesitation.0
