Legendary acts you've seen live

    First concert - Bob Dylan
I've also seen, BB King, AC/DC, Motorhead, David Allan Coe (he stopped and said something after I yelled Free Bird), and Pearl Jam.

I've seen a lot more shows, but those are the only acts I'd classify as "legendary."

*David Gilmour and Richard Wright - WHen they performed Shine on You Crazy Diamond and Echoes I was thinking Roger who? When Dave sang Wish You Were Here it is almost identical in crowd participation to PJ's Betterman, if not moreso.

*Ozzy - Bark at the Moon... Jake E Lee was on fire at this show!

*Metallica - with Cliff opening of Ozzy's Ultimate Sin tour, Ozzy was very bloated at this time and I don't think he spoke to Jake at all... Wish MEtallica would have played the main set. The Master set was brutal!

*Iron Maiden - Powerslave tour - "Scream for me Long Beach... err Phoenix"

*Anthrax - Among the Living tour

    *Rush - Moving Pictures tour

-CSNminusY- terrible, I guess I saw them when they were too old, they were using pitch correction on their vocals and you could hear the extra noise (60hz) through the PA.

    *Pearl Jam - PJ20

    *DRI

*Flotsam and Jetsam (was lengendary for me) - Doomsday for the Deceiver tour

*Scorpions- I did not hide under their limo like Mike MCCready did

*Eric Clapton (with Derek Trucks and Doyle Bramhall ll) playing Derek & the Dominoes material. This show was fantastic.

*Eric Clapton & Steve Winwood (Playing Blind Faith Songs) This show was pretty boring until Clapton finally let go during Voodoo Chile and Dear Mr Fantasy was pretty good.

I was in the 10th grade... 15. I wasn't able to go see bands like the Doors (I really wanted to see the Stones in 1970, but there was no way my parents would let me go to a Stones' gig at age 14... especially after Altamont). There was too much of a drug thing around most bands. My mom liked the Kinks, so it was okay to go to that. Bought the ticket with the money from my paper route... it was $5.50 at the local Sears Store.

All "legendary" because they affected my life somehow.

    Pink Floyd at Live 8
    The Cure
    U2
    David Bowie
    Oasis
    Radiohead
    Pixies

OK, obviously some people's definition of legendary is different than mine, but each to their own eh?
    In no particular order

    PJ x 4
Kiss x2 (my first ever gig, 1984 with Bon Jovi supporting)
    AC/DC x5 (most memorably 1991 Castle Donington)
    Judas Priest x3
Metallica x8 ( first one was 1986 with Cliff, double headline with Anthrax)
    Slayer x6 ( first time 1987)
    Ramones
    Danzig
    Neil Young x2
Roger Waters x3 (DSOTM and The Wall)
    Robert Plant
The Firm (Jimmy Page and Paul Rodgers)
    Van Morrison
    Rory Gallagher
    Nirvana (1991)
    Prince (1989 ish)
    Iron Maiden x7
    Aerosmith
    Sepultura
    G 'n R (Donington '88)
    Deep Purple (they were terrible!!)
    Dylan
    BB King x2
    Faith No More
    Rollins
    Christy Moore
    Velvet Underground (1993 reunion)
    Wilco x2 (+another next month)
    Peter Gabriel
    Ray Manzarek
    Tom Waits
    ....so far
these are only the ones I would regard as having legendary status

    Allman Brothers x3
    Aerosmith

PJ should be added as well

They say every sin is deadly but I believe they may be wrong...I'm guilty of all seven and I don't feel too bad at all

I saw Hall & Oates, too, twice. I didn't add them to my list 'cause I just wasn't sure if they were considered legendary.
I didn't think of them until I started looking at ticket stubs.

There are some formidable lists here. Some of these I'm jealous of (Radiohead, White Stripes). Here's mine.

    Aerosmith
REM (4th row in 2004, had a feeling I wouldn't get the chance to see them if I didn't see them then)
    U2 6x
    The Police
Pearl Jam 2x (became a fan at the 05 Saskatoon show. This is what concerts are supposed to be for, to make fans, entertain old fans, and give everyone a good show!)
Arcade Fire (speaking of Canadian legends....)

    And some Canadian legends...
    Blue Rodeo 2x
Tragically Hip 2x (my first rock concert)
    Tom Cochrane and Red Rider
    Trooper (Canada's party band!)

    And the legendarily bad....
Nickelback (that's right I went there, though I didn't pay much for the ticket! Live opened for them and they were great!)

There are others, but none would likely classify as legendary.
    I am mine.

Are you sure this wasn't in either 1971 or 1973? I know the record came out in 1972, but Neil only did 4 shows that year. (Yes, I''m a dork when it comes to Uncle Neil...)

    03/11/72 Community Theater, Berkeley, CA
    guests with Joni Mitchell
    03/26/72 Winterland, San Francisco, CA
    guests with Crosby and Nash
07/16/72 Mariposa Folk Festival, Toronto, Ontario, Canada
    solo
    07/22/72 Community Theater, Berkeley, CA
guests with Stephen Stills and Manassas with Graham Nash

    Cool list btw!
