i think The Frames are one of the best bands I have seen live... espec as its only ever in front of a couple of hundred people. Glen is a consummate singer songwriter and everything he is involved in shows touches of brilliance. His voice in "Leave" is nothing short of shuddering....

and Falling Slowly was our first dance when we got married....
  • We've posted reviews, setlists, videos and pics from Glen's sets at PJ20 on our Frames fansite here: http://www.orderinthesound.com/3-4-sept ... ic-theatre

While you're there, feel free to click around and fall into a rabbit hole filled with 20 years of Frames-y goodness!

seems like a really nice guy. i think once was one of the best movies of the last decade, and have seen the swell season twice.

plus the fact that he's friends with damien rice and lisa hannigan is always a plus.

the last few years, in dublin, on christmas eve, bono, damien rice, glen and others all gather outside in the street and sing songs, christmas songs and each others songs. how cool would that be?

there's a DVD of josh Ritter called live at vicar street and he talks about one night when he hung around with glen damien and Lisa playing guitar singing songs. That's fucking awesome!!!

    umm....yup.

we'd seen him 2 times before PJ20 & he just leaves it all on the stage. very emotional songwriter...much like Damien Rice or Ed.
    I LOVE MUSIC.

The Frames: Burn The Maps & listen to the soundtrack for "Once." if those don't convince you, then it's not your thing. 8-)

even on an Acoustic guitar. wow! Only seen him open for EV, but loved how he tagged a few lines of "smile" into Astral Plains (song by Van Morrison). Awesome set. I'm only familiar with Swell season right now, but will check out these other recommendations in the near future.

Glen and Ed's voices compliment each other so much when they sing together, it just makes the show even better. 8-)
