Pizza and Bagels. It's the water (he, he).
For either, go to the center of any town you'll run into multiple pizza/bagel places that's better than just about anywhere in the country I've been (can't really speak for places I haven't been).
We have regular pizza places (i.e. not Dominoes, etc.) that deliver top notch for free b/c the competition is so fierce. (to give you an example - the town I grew up in has a poplulation of over 100K- a Pizza Hut was built and opened in the middle of town on Main Street in the busiest shopping center. And it went out of business! I had never seen a Dominoes until I went to college in another state.)
I know, I know, you've heard it all before. College friends heard it too, and didn't believe me. Until they visited. Then, every time my parents visited (which wasn't often) from a few hours away, it was a couple pies and a couple dozen.
Love Chicago style pizza, too. But, really, the 2 are completely different things.Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.0 -
If it wasn't too hot to walk to a pizzeria I would walk to one as it is too hot to spend time cooking. It's the time of year I eat much less.
There is no such thing as leftover pizza. There is now pizza and later pizza. - anonymous

I like Lou's. It's probably somewhere between my third and fifth favorite pizza, depending on my mood. And Pequod's does have its off days (as does any pizza place, really). I've never been disappointed when I've eaten there, but there have been a few times when I was less than thrilled with a pickup or delivery.Davidtrios wrote:I picked up pequod's pizza last night and i gotta tell ya, it wasnt great...

Just out of curiosity, which location was it? The original or the one on Clybourn? And what did you get on it?0 -

i picked it up on the way home from work last night out of the morton grove location. i got the idea bc a co-worker of mine knows the owner and told me the sad story of how their daughter lost her battle to cancer at the age of 20. i stopped in, paid for the pizza and donated a few bucks for cancer research in a jar they had near the entrance.0 -
I could live on the pizza at this place. Thin crust, great cheese, very thin sauce......damn, I am jonesing for a slice!
