Without a doubt my favourite non-PJ band.
Saw them in TO this week. Ridiculous. 2.5 hours, full of energy, great atmosphere and they sounded amazing.
I have a new found love for Circuital (new album).0 -
had to share this video because it is fucking awesome. kudos to whoever recorded it. although there is no way i would ever hold up a video camera for 15 minutes while this is going on in front of me...but that's just me.

...now i know there have been more skilled guitar players out there than jim james, but NO ONE can PLAY like jim james. the guy is an absolute beast on the stage. he must get whiplash during every show.0 -

Any thoughts on a meet up prior to the show? I've never been to the venue, but my buddy from Watertown says the area has some bars/restaurants that are close. Unless people are tailgating.0 -

edit: I've listened to the Muppets song about 20 times already.
What's up man? I will be there as well. My only MMJ show for this year. But seeing them 6 times last year was kinda overkill, so...0 -
I am going to see them for the first time tomorrow night at Somerset House -

My first time seeing them!
Can't wait to party w/ u again!!!
I'll be staying @ The Seaport Hotel with friends. There are restaurants up and down the street (Northern Ave). I was just out there on the 12th for A Perfect Circle (epic fail)...all the restaurants were packed like sardines...45 minute waits (and this was at like 5p on a Tuesday!!!) Not too sure about a proper tailgating scene. I think the parking lot right @ the venue is for people who purchased the VIP ticket package, but i could be wrong. There are tons of other pay lots around, but some of them did say monthly parking only... Then there is the parking garage, which you cant really tailgate in so.... we'll figure something out!Mansfield, MA - Jul 02, 2003; Mansfield, MA - Jul 03, 2003; Mansfield, MA - Jul 11, 2003; Boston, MA - Sep 29, 2004; Reading, PA - Oct 01, 2004; Hartford, CT - May 13, 2006; Boston, MA - May 24, 2006; Boston, MA - May 25, 2006; Hartford, CT - Jun 27, 2008; Mansfield, MA - Jun 28, 2008; Mansfield, MA - June 30, 2008; Hartford, CT - May 15, 2010; Boston, MA - May 17, 2010; [EV - Providence, RI - June 15, 2011; EV - Hartford, CT - June 18, 2011]; Worcester, MA - Oct. 15, 2013; Worcester, MA - Oct. 16, 2013; Hartford, CT - Oct. 25, 2013; Boston, MA - August 5, 2016; Boston, MA - August 7, 2016...0 -

So far so good. The package you get from joining is much better then the analog membership (in my opinion). The poster is high quality and the t-shirt is as well. I mean, each of them would probably sell for 30-35 bucks at a show. You get a membership card and a certificate welcoming you as well. They are also going to be starting up a Roll Call only website this summer and have exclusives (downloads, etc.) for members through that.
I was disappointed that the poster was damaged, but they responded to my email within an hour and said a new one will be on the way this week. Great customer service.
I missed out on any pre-sale opportunities when I joined, but thats OK.
I don't know, something about the vibe MMJ dishes out is just GREAT! Looking forward to seeing them in August.PJ:

They added Charlottesville on August 24th! Looks like that will be the second "bucket list" band I get to see within a few months (after Arcade Fire in June). I hope Neko Case opens even though she is already playing Charlottesville on an off day earlier in August.0

I got tix to that show too! I could not make the Arcade Fire show there, but I did see LCD Soundsystem there last year. This show should be incredible! I would love to catch an NYC show later this year too.severed hand thirteen2006: Gorge 7/23 2008: Hartford 6/27 Beacon 7/1 2009: Spectrum 10/30-31

I'm looking for a 1-day Saturday pass to see MMJ at Lollapalooza. Craigslist is full of over-priced tix and scalpers. Anyone have an extra?0

It's so funny... but I've never listened to MMJ though I'd heard others have mixed reviews. I accidently stumbled upon something today about a guy I used to listen play guitar back in college and was blown away... It's Carl - I can't believe how time flies. He was awesome back then in a band called Planet Earth and then renamed Old Pike about the time they signed with Sony. I used to love watching him play because he disappears into his music and seems to tune the world out. So cool.... He was one of the three guys playing Alive in the courtyard of my dorm that introduced me to Pearl Jam0
