we were dead center about 8 or 9 rows back. I have to say each time I see these guys they exceed my expectations. I never expected such a diverse setlist including personal favs lay low, phone and cobra!
Jim and Carl were shredding and melting my face off the entire night... off the record, dondante, lay low, phone, anytime, the way he sings, black metal and OBH were all absolutely absurbly epic.
Honestly I don't know how they play for almost 3 hours like that at one point i think 4 or 5 songs blended into eachother. I turned to my wife and said they just played their main set from 8:45 until 11:00pm! Longest main set I have ever seen I think. All in all finished up just short of a massive 3 hour show. I was sooooo tired afterwards like I had run a marathon. To sum it up MMJ blew my face apart last night.
p.s why were so many empty chairs and so many people left early?
I'm just flying around the other side of the world to say I love you

I will admit that I was a little surprised by the religious undertones. It doesn't bother me at all...I was just surprised.
Not quite sure what you're talking about here, but I think MMJ has always embraced a kind of general spirituality in their music. Jim James has gone out of his way in interviews to explain that the spirituality is not limited to one type of religion over another. Being a non-religious guy myself, I find the spirituality and positivity of MMJ's music to be quite refreshing.

3rd row from rail in cville now. It will fill in give it time
I got to 4th row from the rail and I went up there at 7:55.
The setlist was too short last night, but it was still a good show. The crowd was noticeably loud during the slower songs (Movin Away, Slow Slow Tune).
I have now seen Circuital in its entirety, as well as At Dawn, Z, and Evil Urges.
How about a new MMJ DVD? Okonokos was several years ago. Let's get another one soon guys. I was hoping for a DVD for New Years Eve a few years ago, but none ever materialized.

i know a couple of people that went, i'm still waitng to hear from them...
I went to the Philly show... it was incredible. I've seen them a couple times before but this blew all the others out of the water. They were right on, and played all night. I had a great time.. couldn't believe it wasn't packed. Highlights for me included: Phone Went West, Slow Slow Tune, Black Metal.. ah so many, so many good ones. If you get the chance to hear any of it, take it. Great great show.

I think there may be something in the works regarding another live show/s... With the confirmation of the live boxset thing with the T5 shows possibly a compilation dvd with the best performances?? I dont know if it could have 1 side of vinyl better than the okonokos side 1 of Lp 1 though.... Had to shell out to get that vinyl box but it was worth it !!

How much did you have to pay? I got mine a few months ago for $40.
Got mine for 80... it disappeared off amazon after being 40 bucks for so long but it said will ship in 1-3 months, I just couldnt wait that long... and ebay was all 40-50 but 30 bucks postage to Australia...so I just got it from a local store. I still figured 80 isnt to bad for 4 slabs of Vinyl. Now i'm just waiting for TTF, AD and ISM to turn up... I was reading on their forum that the pressing off amazon of ISM is pretty atrocious, so I managed to get original UK one which is supposedly a better sounding one. Curious as to whether T5 will be a box for each night or just one box...
I used to love the Emmett Otter Christmas special as a kid so I was very excited to hear that they covered this tune. Would have been pretty hilarious to also hear them cover the River Bottom Nightmare Band though

You didn't find one yet? That's strange. Usually the recordings pop up within a day or two of the show.
same thing happened last year w/ holyoke and portland. someone said they recorded, that someone then said they were listening/tagging and editing and it would be up soon....one year later, still no recording has surfaced. I'd really like to hear the Boston show from this year, but im not getting my hopes up till i see it posted and hear it. If it ended up sounding like garbage, I wish the guy would just say so and put it up if anyone was still interested.

if the recording is not up by now...you will probably never hear it again. unfortunate. not expecting a recording of philly or red rocks either which has me pretty bummed out. wish xpn would've broadcast the show like they usually do when jim james comes to town.
just a warning...i thought the t shirt was cool too until i washed it. now it's a pajama tee.
mine made it through the laundery just fine.
wish i could say the same thing. mine was great before i washed it. i got an XL. i'm 6'1-6'2...and pretty slim. i washed it and now the bottom of the shirt barely comes to my waistline. it's short/somewhat wide for it's length, and has a large "bacon neck". oh well. it's a nice color and very cool design though.
