    Time to grab the flaming torches and pitch forks and storm the gates of sony europe en mass and declare...... "shenanigans!!!" :D
    I'm not saying stupidity should be a capital offence, but what say we take the safety labels off everything and let nature run it's course?

    Because I've just seen, in my LP's and CD's this:
    Made in the E.U.

    That would mean 10C never sent them to Sony. The European releases weren't obviously late for this reason. :?

    that also means paul has to buy another one from the usa. :lol::lol::|

  • Whoo, arrived today. Despite the early uncertainties I think this was a better delivery than the Ten deluxe boxset so thanks Ten Club.

    Got some Super DeLuxe set that I needed :D . Thank you Pearl Jam!! Looks amazing, just listened to Vs. on vinyl. Much better sound compared to my old cd, that sounds a bit thin and treble dominated, for example Dave's drum intro to Go. The warm sound of the vinyl really suits this album. Vitalogy is up next...

    To all the Canadians that bought the SDE through 10C, I spoke to a friend that works at UPS and asked her to give me a quote to send SDE (gave her the exact weight and dimensions) from Seattle, WA to New Brunswick and I have to say I'm a bit disappointed...

    For $31.36 USD...7 days for delivery. I wasn't a math major in university, but...
    2000 = Montreal
    2003 = Montreal
    2005 = Halifax, St. John's Night 1

    2010 = Boston
    2011 = EV - Boston, PJ20 Night 1&2, Toronto
    2012 = EV - Orlando Night 1&2

    It's nice to hear that a lot of people in Europe who ordered the Super Deluxe the first day got lucky and didn't have to pay VAT. And a few weren't so lucky... what's strange to me is why the price was higher in Europe although it was apparently made here? And why did we pay the price in USD when it was bought from Sony International / MyPlayDirect and it was made in the EU? Anyway it's an amazing box.

    I paid the price in £, and it seems it cost more because of the ludicrous tax we get shafted for in the Uk

    No doubt about it, the box is well worth the cost charged for the product

    How convenient , you will only log in to try and correct people, but not answer or try to set straight the absolute mess of your operation. Oh, I'm sure you will have your backers saying that you do a great, great job. Thankfully a lot of people see you don't, You wait until a mess calms down before you pop up. Any other business would have went down the shitter a long, long time ago if they ran their business like you lot do, you're just lucky you have a lot of people that will happily accept the poor service that you deal out.

    Unfortunately, I'm part of them. I hate the way Sony handled the situation. :x

    Anyway, I'm so happy with this box that I wouldn't say "everything's forgotten", but it's a matter of minor importance, now. :mrgreen:

    Dude I'm just as pisssed off about the way 10Cships to Canada, but you can't say it's all Santos fault. Personally, I'd rater be hit with the duty charge at my door rather than fronting the 10C for it - simply because I like to see where all my dollars and cents are going, shipping and handling fees are notorious and packing in duty and other charges like VAT gives the club a bit of leniency to up the price without actually giving us a line by line item of the costs.

    I'm no better off giving the 10C the duty than paying it myself and I can't imagine this saves me any money. 10C, next time just charge me the shipping, I can handle paying the taxes myself - since I'm giving you the tax moey to pay it for me anyways. $30 month long shipping is simply unacceptable

    EDIT - or just save the money you spent on "I'm Analog" shirts and subsidize the shipping system!

    Well I paid in Euros but the price was based on the USD price and then converted to EUR. It's a bit strange that they take the price in US add a bit to that and after that they add the VAT... Can't help it. Maybe it's the wage difference in the US and Euro-zone that made the price difference but this doesn't go too well together with the fact that Europeans pay in USD (that's converted by the exchange rate of the day the product is shipped) although it's made and shipped from the EU... That said I also think it's totally worth as I bought it... Should've ordered first day though...

    As much as I hate saying this, the 10C is to blame. Having said that, I'm not saying they're not doing everything in their power to please the masses. Having a 90+ page thread of people complaining can't be an easy pill to swallow. What I am saying is that someone at the 10C needs to be held accountable for managing people's expectations. When I pre-ordered the SDE, I did find the shipping was a bit high...but I also expected that because of this higher shipping rate I would receive it at least close to the release date....not 4 to 8 weeks later. If it was disclosed at the time of sale...great! I know what to expect.
    Time to move this operation out of the garage and run it like a real business.

    Well I will agree that even with what Santos said of that estimate not including tax and VAT, does he really think it is reasonable to charge so much for shipping without supplying tracking numbers?

    To add to my previous point, shipping cost, taxes, VAT....none of that matters now. The cost is going to be what the cost is going to be. The 10C failed to disclose this stuff when you decided to pay $150 USD for the item. Give the people a detailed breakdown of the cost of buying the item...then let the person decide if they want to hit the 'BUY' button.

    Sorry, but Canada doesn't have VAT. Nitpicking... I know, but just saying.

    I understand this must be frustrating to hear, but us Canadians are a little disappointed that this is taking forever. Especially now that virutally the rest of the world is now receiving it and it's at least 3 more weeks before we see it. As mentioned before, I got a 5 lb. - 13 CD box set through Pop Market (MyPlay) shipped by UPS for around $8.00 shipping and it arrived in 1 business day, no broker fee, no VAT, no extras period. So we're having a little difficulty understanding why the delays.

    I'll repeat for the last time...

    all bollocks aside, this is a really nice item to own. I dont begrudge a penny. I know others have their gripes, and they will continue to flog that horse like they did over the last 98 pages of this thread, but knowing what i do now and having seen this boxset up close, I'm very happy with the purchase.
