You're not making sense. And what makes you think that you know what's inside these artists' minds?JOEJOEJOE wrote:Miley/Lady Gaga do not have the same lifespan as Green Day. Green Day has a long term career, so they need to worry about sustaining their fan base.
Miley/Lady Gaga aren't as concerned about the long haul.

i guess i understand why some EV/PJ fans are put off. but the bottom line is ... EV/PJ tickets aren't as cheap or as expensive as they could be. overall, a pretty damn good value.Give way to nature ...0

As for the cost of the ticket....
Given today's music industry and the precedent that is being set by other acts in the industry you can actually look at this as a bargain.
I think you get your money's worth with PJ and Ed. Can't say the same about others. (Ex. RHCP)
That said... still expensive.Toronto 2000

Yeah, I agree. That is one thing I don't like about Green Day, and I'm about as diehard as you get (sometimes it's embarrassing to admit).0 -

Same here. I'm actually taking my nephew to see American Idiot on Broadway when Billie Joe performs as St. Jimmy. I think it is April 16th. He is 11 and has never seen Green Day or NYC. He has no idea and is going to be so surprised!!!!Member 164xxx

We can debate this all day long. The objective fact is that PJ and EV, with similar or lower overhead (EV), charge more to play the same room than other acts that sell out that same room. No matter what the type of music or age of the performer. They dont charge $200 like Neil, and they dont charge $50 like the foos-and I believe that to be deliberate.
Id like to think its because they prefer to tour less and that they are more generous paying their employees and road crew rather than a green disease. Maybe its to funnel money to their charitable causes. We will never know the real reason. Trying to determine why they charge what they charge is a fruitless exercise.
Although quite entertaining.

I really do not see the big deal in these prices at all. Some of you are crying like you have to take out a second mortgage. If that’s the case then it looks like your stuck listening to live boots.0

There is a serious lack of any empathy with PJ fans.
I'm so glad you can afford the increasing prices.
But there are still so many of us who either can't afford the rising prices, or simply question why they're getting so steep. And that's right, we have that right to question it.
Does belittling others make you feel better? That's called being insecure, or a lack of self-esteem. Good luck with that.0 -

Apparently everyone must forfeit their 1st Amendment rights on this board.
I may not even be going to these shows, so it doesn't much affect me, but since when are people not allowed to voice their grievances over this type of thing?

So Ed should lower his ticket price by 7 dollars because tm/ln raised their fees 7 dollars since 2009? He's charging the same base amount as he did in 2009.
I think the price is a little high, but it's not like he raised prices since last time.- Busted down the pretext

It's the way it is. They make their money on touring. They don't(at least not recently) do huge prolonged 75 show tours anymore and to make the same amount of money they are charging more. Honestly though as far as ticket prices go they are right in the middle. They aren't the lowest and are no where near the highest. I don't see where the complaining is necessary. The price of everything goes up. I agree that it sucks that some people are feeling the pinch of the economy. If you are that tight, a concert probably shouldn't be top priority for the time being and hopefully you rebound before the next tour.
I can't blame the band for the economy.Member 164xxx

I don't see a lot of bitching. People are upset that they may not be able to afford it or questioning if the price is reasonable. And for the most part its just a debate over the price of the tickets. With a few tangents thrown in.0 -
Seeing Chris Robinson next week in Los Angeles. Ticket was $12 plus $3 fee.
Now, I am not comparing the two because Chris can't get $78 a ticket. But he manages to live and pay his people on $12 a ticket. Just sayin.Post edited by Flagg onDAL-7/5/98,10/17/00,6/9/03,11/15/13
