My man and I have just been to three Australian shows in different cities at a total cost of $660 for tickets and don't regret it for a minute. It was money definitely well spent and I just hope Australia is lucky enough to get these wonderful shows again in the not too distant future.

Sooo what if Eddie was only to play Vegas, the entertainment capital of the world. How much could he charge for a ticket there. Hmmmm go see Eddie for $94.50 or the Blue Man Group?!

    PJ in '10 - $86.50 each

Ed in 2011 $94.50 in a venue that holds about 20,000 less people. Look at it this way Neil Young in the same venue was $270, $170, $85. $94.50 for the whole place is a bargain.

The days of PJ shows being under $100 each are almost over.
My ticket in 2008 was $59.40 and that's because I was on the lawn.

Get off my lawn, damn kids!

  • That's exactly how I feel. I've gotten front row for Green Day 3 times and only paid 50$ for the tickets each time. Not like it's relevant, but I actually got up on stage/sang last concert of theirs I went to. I'd have died if that were Pearl Jam.

    During Longview?
"Awesome as Fuck" is just that by the way if you haven't picked it up yet

I wish. It was Are we the waiting. My singing was horrible. But what can I say? He loved me.

Here's another perspective. I'm 36 and have been in my career since 1996. I was paid about 24k then and have almost tripled it now. Should my boss say "Jerry I talked to your first boss and you were working for him for 24k just 15 year ago"??

Dude, I'm not an idiot and I know it ain't all going to Eddie so you could've saved the condescending "jeeez and crap" y,know?.

Anyway I was comparing Eddie Vedder with Robert Plant and his band and it just doesn't add up for me. I love the band as much as the next guy and Ed Ved is the face of the band, but he's got 2 albums of solo stuff and is going to play the ukelele on like half the songs, which gets pretty old, pretty fast. As I said in another post, $95 a ticket adds up pretty quickly if you're making a night of it in NYC or a comparative place. Maybe he should bring back the tiered ticketing.

My point is this - when I can take 4 people (including myself) to see Robert Plant and it only costs aprox $75 more that 2 people to see Eddie Vedder at the same place, there's a problem. Agree or don't, I don't care. And yes I can afford it, but its not worth it to me. I'll just try to go see PJ20.

Honestly, no one should tell someone what is "worth it" to someone else or what to do with your money. You are right, if it isn't worth it to you you probably shouldn't go. Especially if you aren't going to dig his new uke stuff.

If you think the Ed tickets are expensive, wait until you get a load of a 3 night PJ experience where there are only 9,000 seats and is one of only a handful of shows they do this year. hahahahahahaha

yeah, PJ20 ends up being cheaper!
    PJ20 - $334/2=$167/2=$83.50 per ticket.
    Eddie solo - $171/2 =$85.50 per ticket.
FACT: Pearl Jam + multiple guests is $2 cheaper a ticket than Eddie Vedder solo.
EVEN MORE IMPORTANT FACT: RedMosquito22 is wrong!

    Fact: 83.50 x 35000= $2,922,500 Pj20 fest

    Fact: 85.50 x 2600= $222,300 Ed solo

Fact: You are lucky Ed's tix aren't way more expensive!!
