I'm in the northeast and really hope its Alpine Valley. If not there, then Chicago.

It's exciting right now but keep in mind cause it may not be Alpine. Lord knows I want it to be Alpine like we all do. :D But in yrs past the Alpine chat and excitement has been smashed cause they end up doing something else. That feeling always sucks. Hope this is the year. :D:);)

    from Rolling Stone:

The Jane's Addiction frontman and Lollapalooza founder switched his annual summer festival from a traveling show to a destination weekend in Chicago's Grant Park. But he still works to assure it's beneficial to the community,

No way. What do we know? We know its a "destination weekend" that's going to be "somewhere in the middle of the country." Unless they're doing a cruise on the Great Lakes, I think its safe to say its not going to be a cruise and it'll be in the midwest.

I am really pulling for Alpine. I live about 30 miles from there and about the same distance to Chicago. So either one and I am cool with that!

Let's hope if they choose Alpine it doesn't come down to a cockoff about parking $!

Does anyone think that they would allow you to stay/camp out in the parking lot overnight?

We may be in business. How great would that be? My ideal weekend would be there with an undercard of MMJ, Black Keys, and Fistful Of Mercy.

Can you answer a few questions re: Alpine Valley?

Best city in which to fly?
Disatnce from said city to venue?
    Decent hotels near venue?
    Transport from hotel to venue?
    Ease of parket lot exit?

    Thanks!

Milwaukee would be the best place to fly into. Only about 30 miles or so. As far as hotels go, here's a link:

Some may have shuttles. The parking lot can be a challenge sometimes. Especially after the RATM show in a downpour (not paved, all open field).

i too was at that show....epic! I think it took us 2 hours to get from where we parked to the road but didn't give a shit cause everyone was having a fucking blast. Never had a bad time at alpine so it definitely gets my vote, esp. since i missed them there in 03 (god i love that boot). But i'll go wherever the fuck this party is at!
